  1. I'll be honest, I just don't see the Bears trading Briggs this season. If they truly think we're close, losing him right now would be a huge hit regardless what we pick up in the draft. Depending what we get in FA for WR, I could see Knox gone though...
  2. Yeah, but this also feel like the Martz hire too... Martz was mentioned first, then we went through the motions, only to hire Martz in the end. We'll see. I just don't trust the brain trust to get it right. They've proven so far that they can't. This move can swing the tide in the other direction, but I need to see it to believe it.
  3. I'm pretty much with you. I'd just potentially flip flip LT & WR depending on what happens in FA and who is the best available... I'd also like to see a TE potentially as well. Lower rounds. Best available type scenario...
  4. I'm with Fan A...he's obviously Bill Murray. Agreed. However, it is hard to just accept that all is well, when we've seen what we've seen. Georgie Boy has in one stroke become savior, and by lack of another become all that is wrong... It will be interesting. But, then again, it's an ancient Chinese curse that one live during interesting times...
  5. Good points Pix. Ruskell represents pretty much the status quo with hopefully a better draft. If not, then the re-set button is in full effect next season or 2. Hopefully, if they do go Ruskell, it's for 2 years matching Smith....or a small dollar amount in order to cut bait if needed.
  6. Sadly, this is all par for the course since Papa Bear's departure...
  7. As usual, just enough to keep the fanbase thinking they are doing something while the coffers are lined.
  8. No surprise in the least. Sadly.
  9. Is this a joke or true? Seems it could go either way!
  10. I see it like Roddy White and Julio Jones. Maybe not quite as good, but don't we want some semblance of that? A top tier WR vet and a blue chip prospect? I'm more than content hoping that the blue chip prospect can be had in the 2nd if there's a blue chip LT we can nab in the 1st. But I think for WR, that goal of getting a true threat vet and a potential stud is what we must strive for in order to compete. Who won the last SB's and who were their WR's? GB - Jennings, Driver, Nelson NO - Colston, Henderson, Moore (probably the weakest second fiddle guys of the lot) PIT - Ward, Holmes NYG - Toomer, Smith (fairly weak here too...and odd defensive win in the lot of offensive fireworks over recent times) IND - Harrison, Wayne There are exceptions, but it seem to me the more quality WR's at hand, the better. And yes, you must have a good OL... I'm not arguing WR over OL, I am arguing for the tandem.
  11. I may take up drinking professionally...
  12. Be prepared for Smith to be announced as the new GM...
  13. Smith will probably be the GM now. Everything is going internal... I think I have a headache...
  14. exactly! Having 1 out of 3 spots locked doesn't bode well.
  15. I LOVE IT!!!! THAT KID IS AWESOME!!!!!!!
  16. Wrong timeline, McGinnis was the #1 guy before we hired Jauron.
  17. True... And although a failure, it was like whiffing on a #1 pick that everyone think will be a guaranteed stud, but isn't. I don't fault the hire, just that he lingered too long! Man, those were some tough years...
  18. Good deal! It's always nice to get some different perspectives!
  19. We're always a day late and a dollar short with hirings...
  20. And that we don't have a John Lynch/Bob Sanders/Mike Brown guy at safety...
