Flea, but honest. DA is the great hope like Moses Moreno was... Just because he seems like he has potential doesn't mean he's the real real. I believe he can be a solid contributor, but he's no Vincent Jackson.
-
I hear ya. It is actualy odd to finally hear a fairly major sportswriter chime in and say it wasn't a catch.
-
If Smith misses the flight, it's money in the bank!
-
Why the heck are we not in the mix on this?

Vincent Jackson to only miss four games if traded Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 16, 2010 1:56 PM ET A potential trade of Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson just got easier. Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that Jackson will only miss four games at the start of the 2010 season, should he get traded anytime soon. (Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune also has the news.) Jackson remains suspended three games by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Jackson was also set to miss an additional three games after he reported to a team because he was placed on the Chargers roster exempt list. But the NFL and NFLPA met Thursday and came up a compromise for Jackson's missed time should be traded. If Jackson signed with the Chargers, he would still have to miss an additional three games. (Six total.) That makes the small chance he'd return to San Diego look even slimmer. Jackson seems likely to get traded or simply sit the year out. The Vikings appear to be Jackson's most likely suitor, although the Rams have been linked to him previously as well

I hear ya! If the product gets bad this year, people should not attend. Right now, I'm pleased that we're seeing some positives out there. I've been on a personal boycott of anything financial that would go into the McCaskey's pockets. The only thing I won't cancel is my NFL Ticket. I know money is going to them...but at least it's league wide, and not directly pocketed by the family. I plan on ending my personal boycott once Smith is fired. But, I may refrain if I think his replacement is a cheap pawn of the McCaskeys. I'll always watch and be a rabid fan...(I think it's too late for me, I need professional help), but I'll be limiting $ into their pockets until I see better. I encourage everyone to do the same, but fully understand if people can't help but going to games/etc. Family is always a priority! But, having the Bears game on during a birthday party is no sin! I'm sure Roethlisberger alone can help you come up some easy trash talk!

I get your point...but seriously, in 1986...if you didn't rabidly follow this club, you must've been in a coma! In some ways, I'm more rabid now than then. It's the impatience thing. When you are kick-ass, like we were in the 80's, you get more disappointed, than angry. Now I get angry at the shoddiness of the management and coaching on a regular basis for the past 3+ years! I shouldn't. I should know that they are lousy and cie la vie. But I can't help wanting better for this club. For the fans...

There was a Major Harris that played for WV many years back.... Also a Major Dad that played Hearst in the great HBO "Deadwood" series...but I digress!

I'd have traded a pick for Boldin. I still think Hester can be salvaged by a new regime that will put him rutrning kicks solely. I'd have easily signed TJ in a heartbeat. I mentioned a few times here... I give DA a pass on one drop...the rest beter damn well be caught!

Cheers to that!

Not "pissed"?

The clowns on the Score were pondering if this was a union busting move...apparently Hilly is either THE rep or has close ties... They mentioned the Bears did similar with Duerson back in the day during the last strike. I'm not buying it, but it is interesting...

Bears' lineup of 2011 opponents nearly set September 14, 2010 8:24 AM | 1 Comment By Brad Biggs We're just one week into the NFL season after a doubleheader Monday night, but it's never too early to look ahead. Way ahead. Provided a labor situation doesn't go from bad to completely lost -- and football is played in 2011 -- the Bears' opponents for next season are nearly set. All that remains to be determined is which teams the Bears will face from the NFC West and the NFC East (they will play the corresponding finisher from each of those divisions). Here is the Bears' lineup of opponents for 2011: BEARS' 2011 OPPONENTS Home Atlanta Carolina Kansas City San Diego Detroit Green Bay Minnesota NFC West* Away New Orleans Tampa Bay Denver Oakland Detroit Green Bay Minnesota NFC East* * Bears will face corresponding finisher from this division

More info from the Trib... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...ed-illness.html By Brad Biggs Bears linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer, who was forced to leave Sunday's opener against the Lions with an undisclosed illness, has been placed on season-ending injured reserve because of symptoms related to a concussion, according to NFL sources. On Monday, coach Lovie Smith said the Bears still were evaluating Hillenmeyer's condition. Hillenmeyer, 29, made multiple radio appearances Tuesday morning and said that he was feeling better. Hillenmeyer also didn't travel to Cleveland for the final preseason game a week-and-a-half earlier because of what club officials said was an illness. "Honestly, I am feeling better," Hillenmeyer, who declined to disclose the nature of the illness, told "The Mully & Hanley Show" on WSCR-AM 670. "I don't know exactly the details of all that. You know how Lovie (Smith) is about talking about anything health-related. We'll leave it at that." Smith was no more forthcoming during his news conference Monday, leaving the issue somewhat open-ended. "Right now, it's just an illness that he has that we're evaluating," Smith said. It's not known whether the preseason illness is related to Sunday's issue. Linebacker Nick Roach also was forced to leave Sunday's game with a pulled right hamstring a little more than two weeks after having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. Perhaps in anticipation they will need to consider adding a linebacker, the Bears worked out four free-agent linebackers at Halas Hall on Tuesday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Marcus Buggs (Vanderbilt), Blaze Soares (Hawaii), Nate Triplett (Minnesota) and Donovan Woods (Oklahoma State) all had tryouts. They were just four of 11 players in for a tryout, though. The list also included five wide receivers: former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Michael Clayton, Keenan Burton, Onrea Jones, Juamorris Stewart and Rashaun Greer. To throw to the wide receivers, quarterbacks Tim Hiller (Western Michigan) and Matt Nichols (Eastern Washington) were also brought in, according to the source. If the Bears want to re-sign Kevin Malast, who was with the team for the previous two preseasons, he's currently in St. Louis for a workout with the Rams, per another league source. Stay tuned as this situation develops

This may be it for Hilly what Zaidman is speculating. If so, thank you Hilly for all the years of service, I hope you're ok!
-
Ha! Fair enough!

There's a 12 step program for that. Let me know if you need a sponsor...

It's mind boggling...
-
Excellent analysis.
-
I'll give about anything a chance other than Smith.

It's ridiculous. Maybe McKie isn't that bad after all! freakin' can't get any tough yard at all. We are SOFT. In smashmouth, we are getting our asses handed to us.
-
Griz, This ire being thrown at Smith isn't just for the one odd game that we should have lost... It an accumulation of bone-headed and stubborn decisions by this staff on a continual basis over the course of too many years. It's a win, but it wasn't good. I'll take it. And certain things made me happy, but the continual stupidity of the coaching staff is enough to send throes of Bears fans into the emergency room with heart attacks.

I'm running out of venom with all these clowns that are responsible!
-
Exactly! Smith is a waste of space. Not that anyone would be surprised that I'd say as much... Yes. Forte actually looks really outstanding at WR... Maybe instead of converting the best PR/KR ever into a so-so WR, we should take a so-so RB and convert him into a good WR.
