Dammit! Just when my dislike of Smith it skyrocketing, you throw this at me! Seems like it'll be a photo finish on which turd is turdier... Bungelo or Zombie? Neck and neck...
-
Agreed. Seems an odd move. I thought more of Sims. Maybe I don't recall correctly. Not to mention Scheffler's a bit injury prone. Good pick up all else being equal.... The 7th round pick is just free dessert with the meal.
-
Yep. Solid moves. They are going to get better. Couldn't get much worse, as John Lennon once sang.
-
Man, that sounds eerily familiar...

Don't blame Turner for that. Smith tells Turner what to do. Turner was no Buddy Ryan. Turner was an idiot, and Smith let him be one. Both are responsible, and I say Smith even moreso because he had the power to change an obvious problem. Turner, one could argue, coudln't see the forrest from the trees. Smith is paid to be the one that sees the forrest. But it appears he cant' see that when he's too busy staring blankly at the sky...

Plus Robert Johson plays some mean blues...

Fair enough. It's probably a direct realtion to the Bears not picking in the first 2 rounds... I, for one, haven't followed this years' draft nearly as much as previous years. -

If we're taking a second team, I'd be happy to nab Baltimore. -
Flay is the man! I've been to his places in NY and Vegas. Great stuff! Beer can chicken is tasty! But, it can be a little tempremental. Go ale or lager. A more bitter beer. (Honestly, I usually do something cheap that I don't feel bad not drinking!) Some of the darks get a little too sweet when they reduce.

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Tino showed good potential in practice, pre-season, and the few moments he was actually on the field. However, it's not a lot to judge the guy on. Whereas, a far more wet-behind-the-ears, Roach, preformed valliantly all season long. So, really, Roach has proven he's more than just depth, and Piso hasn't proved that he can be relied upon. Bottom line, our LB corps are all the better for having Tino in. And thankfully, the team does not have to hope & pray he doesn't get injured again, because the guys lined up after him are pretty good. I'm not 100% sold on Tino. But I'm sold enough that I like him in the mix.

Not interested. Too much baggage. Too similar to Tommie...

Let me know what you ended up doing! Aother quick one for sausages is get a frying pan, put the suasages in. Fill the pan with beer about 1/4 up to the suasages, braise for a while. Flip, braise. Then throw on the grill and get a good char on both side and make sure the sausages are fully cooked.
-
Nothing earth shattering. But nice for depth. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Stellar coaching?

He didn't get the nickname "Santurdio" for no reason... Although, for a 5th, I think I'd have rolled the dice on his bad character. Zombie is so great at coaching guys up after all!

I'm not the availability of some of the meats in Europe...but here's some standbys I love... 1. Beef Tri Tip. Marinade tri-tip in liquid smoke, wechester sauce, a little salsa, and salt & pepper overnight. Get to room temp the next day, and throw on the grill. While cooking, sprinkle a little mizture of dry rub (garlic power, salt, pepper, parsley, and some typoe of chili powder). Give it a good overall covering and that should do. Cook to your preference. Since it tend to be a large cut of meat, the edges tend to be Med to Med/Well, and the center ranges from Rare ro Med?Rare depending on how long you cook it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tri-tip Just remember, the meat still cooks about 10 minutes more after you pull it from the grill. 2. The same general idea works for hanger steaks or flat iron steaks too. Play with the seasonings...you can have a blast with some unusual mixtures. 3. Chicken Wings. Buffalo style... Dry rub the wings in a rub similar to the tri-tip. Garlic, Salt, Pepper, Chili Poweder, but also add Oregano, a healthy portion of it. Grill until done. Get the buffalo sauce ready as you're grilling. Add a standard hot or buffalo wing sauce to a bow with some melted butter. Throw the sauce and cooked wings in a bowl and toss until the sauce covers it all. Hope those add some fun to the mix!

What's your meat of choice? Beef, chicken, pork, seafood?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ Alex Brown joins the Saints Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 7, 2010 4:47 PM ET After dumping salaries and familiar faces leave town, the defending Super Bowl champion Saints have signed a significant free agent. (Apologies to Zak Keasey.) Defensive end Alex Brown agreed to terms on a two-year contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Signing aging linemen rarely works out well, but Brown's solid reputation remained intact last year in Chicago. He will help the Saints defend the run at a clear trouble position on the team. We still expect them to draft a defensive end early, but Brown makes the need less desperate

I'd be happy to take SF...(I can live vicariously through Samurai Mike). -
Interesting! Thanks for the post!

Basically agreed. We honestly have too little to work with in the draft o address all needs. I could see them going DL... It's probably a position that should in theory translate more smoothly to the pros, thus contributing "right now" moreso than an OL. Sceondary is a concern as well as you mention. But I do like what I saw from some of the young guys if they can stay healthy. Seriously, there are too many flaws to address in the draft. I just hope we can hit paydirt on at least one solid contributor.
-
Regarding the draft, I just think that you have to go with OL. The only exception would be if a safety fell that could contribute now. I like what the video you linked showed. I'm not sure I would be angry at the pick. I just think the OL needs more depth and we have to go towards a youth movement.

Agreed. We struck a solid copper deposit with Miller. Not that valuable, but still some value.
