" X TAKES A SQUARE!"
-
I have heard that point brought up a lot in all this. It will be fascinating how this plays out.
-
I know the strike years weren't good, but was it areally a bust per se? The expectation had to be low I imagine. I just don't know enough about the details. I know many a person that rooted the helmet, and in fact, i recall a guy that played QB for the Saints that actually did well and had some nibble after. i think he was a high school teacher or something.
-
I love your take! I just wish the powers that be would listen... Their ears are plugged up with hundreds...
-
Only if it is a publicly traded corporation, like the Packers are basically. That's why you usually only see their info when this topic gets brought up. I imagine most these owners are LLC's.
-
No. I do not feel that JA can draft well enough to justify it. If Parcells were the guy, I'd maybe think differently.
-
Isn't Frazier under contract with the Vikings? How can he be a candidate?
-
I'm pretty much in the same!

Life is strange. Keith Richards is still alive. You just never know...

Horrible horrible news. It is a sad day...a young man is taken far to soon. I feel for his family and friends.

I understand... But Favre is public enemy #1 for the Bears. I despise him with the fury of a thousand angers. I hate him more than any single player that has walked the earth except Charles Martin. I will continue to hate him above all others until I am 100% sure he is retired. And I'm honestly not sure how I can ever feel his demonic presence isn't a possibility of creeping up like Jason returning for his 30's Friday the 13th movie. Football is entertainment, and there are good guys and bad guys. He is my villain of all time. Because of the Packer connection, him on the Vikings is like a double whammy. Pure unadulterated evil from thes depth of hell that must be stopped. So, against my history of hating Dallas too, consider me the biggest Cowboys fan today outside of Texas! Believe you me, there are more than enough Cryboys fans out here in LA to churn your stomach, but seeing the plethora of jackasses breaking out purple Favre jerseys who've never even heard of Tarkenton (even on "That's Incredible!"), sickens me to a greater extent than watching 2 girls, one cup! I don't wish for injury, simply for ineptness. I want so many picks, people will forget that Cutler had a bad year. I want so many fumbles, that the Ravens will laugh today. I want so many bobbled snaps that Rex Grossman can enjoy a few brews during the game. I want so much ineptness that Matt Millen cracks a smile. F you Favre. You are going down!!! ...so that's my thought on the matter. (We can root for the Saints next week regardless...)

Yes, but for every Bob Ferguson there is a Rod Graves For every Ford there is a Kraft... Our track record pretty much accross the board is middle of the road. Not upper echelon, nor bottom of the barrel. Henceforth why I think we languish around 6-10 to 10-6 so often. We aren't that good, but get an easy schedule every now and then along with some inspired play every once in a while... (1994, 2001, 2005-2006). I want upper echelon. Probably will never get it, but I still want it. Kind of like winning the Lottery... But, it wan't stop me from buying a ticket every week hoping to win.

Fait enough!

That we're hiring offensive coaches without bringing in the OC? Wouldn't an OC want some of his own guys? Just saying... Seems like we're doing this backwards. I like the Tice hire...but this methodology concerns me.

I actually think you need to give the grand old lady, Virginia, more credit than Ted. She ousted her own son, and placed Ted in chrage. But it does appear that Mikey Boy is starting to get a little more press. Could just be timing though. But I fear potential grooming of him... Whereas it's possible a different McCaskey brother could be a better solutio a la Wirtz.
-
I have zero issue with that. Seems as good as any at the moment. I do like his fire, and he at least, on paper, had the pedigree for it.
-
Here's the bigger question... Granted Ted was integral. However, could any very good fnancial man have done it as well? IE. was all that was needed is a sound business guy whose last name didn't end in McCaskey?
-
I want them gone! The grass is greener! Well, at least the turf is better!
-
Luck plays a factor in everything on this earth... But still, last I checked those guys didn't go seeking out firms to figure out their hire. They "lucked" out on their own. There's something to at least be said for that. And of course, everyone wants to emulate good things! Why wouldn't you? As much as you may say those ownerships may not be all that...the fact of the matter is that they are successful, and ours is not. And, from former players, to media, to you name it...the McCaskey's are NEVER thought of as being good owners by virtually anyone. All fans question virtually every ownership. Even successful ones. But, the questions get louder and more vicious the poorer a team is. Maybe I didn't get my "swing" analogy spot on... The element I wanted to say is at least just swing for the love of all that's holy! We bunted, and appears we completely missed the ball! I don't mind whiffing and stkigin out as long as a valiant attempt is made. But to lift the bat up and hope the ball hits it, to me, is inexcusable.
-
I hear you. There have been games going up to it, I was prepared to want a loss...but once the game begins, instinct takes over! My head can go into a game thinking just about anything, but my heart is always destined to root for the Bears regardless. Thusly, why I was so pissed off this year!
-
Blech! It's just so unforuntate... It's a perfect storm at the moment. Hopefully the ship can be at least righted to get out of the eye of the storm this upcoming season...
-
Vey well put, nfo... Those that dislike the situation can easily expound so without taking it to a ridiculous extreme.

If JA is the problem, Teddy needed to get rid of him. He didn't, and that makes Teddy responsible.
