I heard they are also interviewing Matt Ryan for the president's job. Makes sense. He is Atlanta's HOFer and highly respected by the owner, and remains extremely popular with the fan base. President Ryan GM Cunningham Problem solved.

And he's only 21 years old. What a future this man has if he can remain healthy! In 10 years, will we be celebrating a decade of dominating performances by Caleb & Colston? I pray I will be healthy enough to answer that question in 2036.

A great 'feel-good' story for any fan of Loveland was posted today on SI.com. It was very detailed in its comparison of Loveland and 2025 rookie TEs, as well as comparisons with rookie TEs from past years. A lot of stats, so instead of trying to copy and paste all of them, I will give you a link to the story if you are interested (which I am sure SI.com appreciates. LOL) How does Colston Loveland's rookie season compare to other top TEs?

John Harbaugh & Kevin Stefanski will be the hot picks for vacant HC positions.

Well, I predicted last year that Cunningham would leave us for another team as their GM, and I was proved wrong. Now I see teams are already requesting interviews with him. I trust Poles has a replacement for him. Will Poles finally figure out how to hit gold in the 3rd round with the two extra 3rd rounders we will receive as compensation? Here is a small quote from SI.com:

Our three rookies, Loveland, Burden, and Monangai, contributed big time even after having to wait a few games to get significant reps/targets. If all three avoid the sophomore slump and continue to progress, we struck gold in the draft.

Without quality starters drafted and playing on their 'rookie' contracts, teams will be in salary cap hell. Late-day 3 picks, I guess, are fine; they are good bargaining chips for the right player. But hey, there are numerous players drafted in the 6th or 7th round who are quality starters. I think we have the coaching staff to develop young players drafted to be the next man up when we are forced to release or trade a player to keep the window open for postseason success.

The question I have is, has the plan changed for this week's game? When BJ insisted we had plenty to play for (#2 seed and home field advantage), it was assumed we would need to win our game against Detroit this weekend to secure it. The news is that Philadelphia will rest its starters against Washington. If BJ sees Philly losing, will he start pulling his starters as the game progresses? If he does, we may not win, but a Philly loss will still secure the #2 seed for the Bears. Personally, I'm greedy. I want the 12th win. To go from 5-12 to 12-5 would be awesome. Plus, revenge against Detroit would sweeten the deal.

Just saw this posted in an article on SI.com. Further proof (although none was needed at this point in the season) that Burden was indeed a brilliant selection by the Bears.

Clip from NFL.com article: I also found this when the original story of his release occured: Sure, he may be worth a gamble, but I can't believe his injury problems and, as a result, poor play will disappear.

I'm worried about the inevitable. We will see several outstanding position coaches offered promotions to join a newly appointed HC this offseason—the price a good team pays every year. I strongly expect Harris to be offered a DC position. I'd hate to see him leave.
-
If I remember correctly, many Detroit fans said they'd be better off with BJ leaving the team, because their HC was responsible for their offensive success, not Johnson. 🤣
-
I'm assuming BJ began using him as RB2 as soon as he was ready to take over the role. However, imagine. If he had quality reps starting week 1, he would have had a chance for 1000 rushing yards as a rookie 7th rounder.

Pros & cons for both scenarios. However, the thought of sending Packer players and their fans home after eliminating them from the playoffs would add to an already fantastic year for Bear fans.
