On the Prime pregame broadcast of TNF, they said that Caleb Williams is the first quarterback picked #1 in the draft to win four out of his first six games since 1967 (the year I graduated from high school, LOL). By that I am assuming Caleb is the only #1 QB selected in the modern era after the merger of the AFL & NFL to achieve that distinction. How cool is that!

Sportsmockery.com has an article about a possible trade scenario for Poles to exploit. It is suggesting we trade for JAX OG Brandon Scherff. Evern, though he is 32, is still a considerable upgrade for us and has a year left on his contract after 2024. I'm unsure if I am all-in on this idea, but an upgrade for our OL & DL, if cheap, would be ideal. (Cheap being the optimal word. I DO NOT want to give up any of our 3 picks in the 1st & 2nd rounds.)

Wilson has had his share of injury issues lately. I suspect that even if given the starting gig, he will miss more time before the season is over.

Take it easy Mongo. Sorry to hear about your accident. I just saw a slo-mo closeup of Hutch's injury. It's nasty. It's very low on his chin, my guess six to eight inches or so above the ankle. My guess is that he might make it back, but it's a 50/50 call. s

I believe Caleb heard you! 😉

Make that 3 TDs! AWESOME!!!!!!!!
-
It was a bad INT, but he certainly made up for it with excellent runs and two passing TDs!

Several things concern me. Jax has two players, both over 200 yards rushing, 273/231 (Bigsby & Etienne), while we have been a bit sloppy stopping the run. I've never been a big Lawrence fan. However, on any given day, he can burn you. Will returning to London be a catalyst? Jax will be playing a home-away-from-home game in London. They have the most experience of all teams playing overseas. Finally, how will Caleb respond to the extreme spotlight playing in his 1st international game?

If I'm not mistaken, Fields and the Steelers will play LVR & Getsy this weekend. It should be interesting. I still can't believe the Raiders hired Getsy. I see where WR Adams has requested a trade. He wants to get the hell out of LV. I wonder why? LOL

That was painful to watch. That's not coaching, IMO. That's Braxton signaling to Poles he is burnt toast. Don't know if it is because of his injury last year, or maybe he isn't near 100% this year, or just F***ing lazy. One thing for sure, he is going to get Caleb injured if he continues to play like what I just saw in the video. I read a lot of positive press about Amegadjie. Let's hope he can take over the LOT spot soon. I wouldn't complain if Poles used his 1st and both 2nds on the OL in the 2025 draft.

OMG! BEARS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Stafford is good in the clutch. Too much time left. I hope you are right.
-
Right now, short pass, no turnover. 1st down wins it.
-
Crap. Not good. Only up by 6.
-
We need at least three points, I am getting nervous.
-
Missed 2 at end of half, one overthrown to Rome, one miss to DJ. Caleb's accuracy is still off. Needs to escape the pocket when it collapses. Coupled with pre-snap penalties. IMO, that is not on coaches, it is on players executing.

That's fine. I knew you were down on Daniels before the draft. However, I still feel he is the real deal IF HE CAN AVOID INJURY ISSUES. The only concern I have is that he needs to bulk up with some muscle, or his body will not be able to withstand the beating NFL quarterbacks take. If physical durability is taken out of the question, I think he can be a top-15 quarterback going forward. I still hope Caleb can become a top-5 NFL quarterback, but his accuracy and ball security concern me.

And ... If it were not for Caleb's turnovers (to be expected from a rookie starting the season), what would our record be right now? Quite possibly 3-0 despite the offense struggling (also to be expected at the beginning of the season with the new OC and scheme. Remember, we had a lot of injury issues, causing OLmen to miss reps in camp. Is this leading to issues in communication?). And ... If we were 3-0, would we complain about Poles, Flus, and Waldron or praise them?
-
I'm reasonably sure Flus holds his players accountable, but not publicly. As I said, some things should be kept in-house.
-
Yes, it's normal for a QB to give feedback to his OC regarding his preferences and opinions. It isn't always wise to make it so public. One might consider going into such detail throwing his OC "under the bus." Not a good thing. Some things should "stay in-house" and not be aired out in the press. Especially by a Rookie QB who, although showing progress, has a QBR under 30 and has a lot to learn. It has nothing to do with Flus. Flus holds players accountable. He doesn't need a rookie QB to help him do so. Are you still harping on Hard Ass, I mean, Harbaugh, not being hired by the Bears? Harbaugh runs a "blue-collar" system. 1) Tough Defense. 2) Run the hell out of the ball on offense. Pass only when you have to. Run, Run, Run, then, maybe, pass. 3) Tough Defense. Sound familiar? It's the same system Halas established in 1920. It's the same system we used for almost 100 years, refusing to recognize that the league had begun relying more on the passing game. Many of us wanted to see the Bears move away from the old system and join the rest of the league. Is that why we drafted Caleb? To operate a "run first" offense with little emphasis on the passing game? I assumed and was hoping that with the WRs/TEs we have and spending the top pick in the draft on Caleb and then #9 on Rome, we would be looking to establish a high-scoring modern offense. If not, then we should have signed Hard Ass, traded the number one pick for a shit load of picks, and returned to "1920 football."

All this talk about firing Poles... Firing Flus... Get a new OC..., etc... We came into this season with a new OC, a new system, and a rookie QB. We all knew it would take time to gel. Do we want to learn from our past mistakes? A rookie QB forced to learn a new scheme in year 2? All of a sudden, we think Poles sucks? We sure felt differently before the season started. The only thing he has failed to do is solidify the OL, and we are 'possibly' in need of an edge rusher. Then again, how many holes can you fill in two years when you are given the garbage he was given to start with? He knows there is an issue. I have no doubt it will now be a top priority in his rebuild. Yes, many of us wanted it sooner. He did try to make moves in FA to patch things up. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. And as far as our OC, he is limited by our OL. As far as our OL coach, give him some quality players to work with. As far as Flus, our D is kick ass. Our locker room is tight. The players are 'all-in." And on a final note, Daniels sure looked good last night. New Rookie QB record, 21 for 23. No turnovers. Solid.

McVay probably figures he won't need them to beat the Bears. You know what? He's probably right. If they can win a game against SF without them, I see no reason to believe they can't beat us with their backup WRs. Caleb is going to be blitzed early and often. Let's hope he can avoid being injured with our pitiful OL.
-
It's about time. His accuracy has been off when throwing beyond 10 yards. Disappointing.
-
It might help him if he had an OL that could open a few holes. He kicked ass in PHI but had one of the top OLs to do so.
-
I bet they would go with FA QB Ryan Tannehill if they decided to put Tua on the shelf.
