  1. Personally, I feel it is more execution on offense than game plan. Personally, I think our defense is playing fine until they run out of gas late in the 3rd quarter do to time of possession always seeming to be heavily in favor of the opponent do to poor execution of our offense. I just do not believe we have the talent on offense for ANY OC to look successful as they are not skilled enough to execute any scheme we could devise. Sad, but IMHO, true.
  2. He could have jumped in and try and separate them. He could have jumped in and try to pull people off of him. Oh wait, there was already others doing that. He jumped in to get in the fight, to retaliate. Now that is stupid. Agreed!
  3. There is one possibility if we make a change immediately. Many if we wait until after the season is over. If we truly feel R Turner is the problem with the Offense, and wanted an immediate change in mid-season, the only option I see would be Pep Hamilton, as he knows the Offense's playbook and schemes. We can not change the playbook midseason. If we wait until the end of the season there will be many options from staffs beeing dismantled. So if we make the change midseason, we would be giving someone inexperienced the reins to the offense. If we wait until the end of the season, and our offense continues to play as it has (again, assuming the main problem is Turner) then we waste another year to make another run at the SB. Is there really a good alternative?

Yep, if we could combine the better traits of the two, we would have a legitimate starting QB. Take Kyle's hieght, his ability to adjust to blitz packages, step up in the pocket, and put it together with the physical skills and accuracy of Rex (especially on passes over 20 yards down the field) and we would have a solid QB.
  5. Yes Tommie, your right, but Tillman's penalty was unnecessary. It was after the fact. Too late to matter, except that it helped the Bucs win the game. If they punt from their end zone there is a good chance we get good enough field position to move into field goal distance and win the game. Tillman blew it, plain and simple.
  6. Love the recap and would only add that I would have been tempted to do a split grading of the WRs with Lloyd getting an A+ and the remainder of the crew getting an F. Lloyd is the only highlight among the receivers in this game. If he continues to play like this he will definately entrench himself as a #1 WR.
  7. Agreed, we would never receive a 1st rounder for either Olsen or Anderson. We would not get a 1st for both together. If they both begin to prove their worth (by start showing the "potential" most posters think they have) then maybe down the line.
  8. Top flight OLs have trouble handling JJ's Defensive presure he generates. I shudder to think what will happen when we play them. It could get real ugly.
  9. Bears 16 TBB 6 Bears score 1 TD and all the rest of the scoring in the game via FGs. 2 good defenses, 2 struggling offenses, home field advantage and "good as gold" Gould puts a win in our column.
  10. I have to believe the Bears Defense should be able to shut down TBs offense, which certainly does notimpress me at all. I would not be surprised at a shut out. If they score my guess is it would be from D/ST. Now how the Bears do offensively, well, that is the question in most of our minds. We thought Forte would struggle against Carolina but did quite well. Why not against TB? I think Carolina has the better defense of the two teams. Hopefully we see some groth out of Orton and his pack of WRs.
  11. With K Smith & R Johnson on the roster, he will probably get as many touches as AP or GW for the Bears. I would be surprised if he sees the field in week 5.
  12. If he were borderline to make the roster, I am sure it was because of the amount of veteran Safties ahead of him, not because he did not have potential & skills. I like this kid and think he will do excellent in the NFL. I am sorry to see McGowan injured AGAIN, and out for the season. Happy to see Steltz get an opening. Is Tampa 2 defenses usually this rough on safties or is it just our misfortune that we can not keep safties healthy?

I like your thinking there, let Forte set the standards for others to be compared to him. I like that.
  14. Strange, it worked when he first posted it, I checked it out at that time.

My only question is in 2009 who will Hanie be competing against in preseason for the starting QB position? My guess would be Simms. We draft a QB in 3rd or 4th round. Rex & Kyle? Will either be on our roster next year?
  16. Picksheet for week 3 is ready. Be sure to submit before the start of the first game on Sunday! I do not ever recall all 16 home teams being favored to win against the spread! TalkBears Pick'em Contests Good Luck! Pixote - John
  17. I say the Bears get several truck loads of dry ice. We need to recreate the fog bowl.
  18. bowlingtwig & marked both came in with 12 wins this week, with bowlingtwig inching out marked for 1st place with the tie-breaker. Great job fella. Looks like this is going to be a tough contest this year. 2 weeks with lots of games left, a lot of entrants with some very impressive scores. As of the end of week 2 - 58.1% is 12th place. That winning percentage usually will take first place by the end of the year in previous year results.

  20. There are few elite teams this year, we saw 2 of the better ones last night in Dallas & Philly. Pittsburgh, Denver, NYG, and SD (despite 2 losses) are right up there. I agree, the Philly game is going to be a TOUGH one.

2nd and long is Prophet on the forum. You could PM him through the forum or email him through the Yahoo FF site.
  22. Agreed, if Olsen does not make those two fumbles, we probably win the game. This thread, just as the ones calling for Orton's benching would not appear on the forum (except for the die hard Rex fans who would be calling for Orton's benching no matter what happens).
  23. Pixote replied to Da Bears 88's topic in Bearstalk
If Olsen does not make those two fumbles do we win the game, yes. Would we have this thread, probably not. Would we talking bringing in Rex, probably not.
  24. I know at the time we traded him there were no tears shed on the forum at Bearstalk. He had not performed for us like he is in Carolina and many of us were happy with the draft pick we received for him. Like you said, hindsight is 20/20.
  25. Can you ask for a better start?
