Theo Benedict was interviewed today, such a bright young talent that really gets it. He had to start fresh with the new coaching bc there was no tape on him. He knows and understands what is asked and is making adjustments and that progress has shown enough that he is now LT1/2 - competing to be 1. Some intersting comments: Thuney has really helped him with sharing his knowledge (hands, feet, and keep you head up). He said Ozzy Trapilo is a 50 year old mind trapped in a 20 year body. Him and Kiran are draft/rookie brothers.
  2. I believe the Chiefs are also playing their starters. Maybe its a trend with the new shortened preseason.

Ha, I was going to post let the Darnell Wright rumors begin but figured I would get backlash. Only downfall is wen won't get a 1st let alone a top 10.
  4. Crazy part is he has to beat out Olamide Zaccheaus who looked great. He will get his opportunities but might be starved with the talent we have to feed.
  5. Booker with another big sack. He might be our much needed pass rusher
  6. That first big pass to Kmet, awesome! He doesnt get credit but can carry the team if needed. Commander game 3 years ago was all him and the swing for the fences is my favorite Bear TD celebration

Theo has 32" arms, I see him eventually moving inside. Ozzy has been slow out of the snap, I think that can be coached. Darnell gets tired bc he came to town out of shape. Braxton lost strength from injury but had issues before with anchoring a bull rush. The coaches are pushing these young OTs to the edge, you don't hear a peep about the interior. It's a process we haven't seen and hopefully none of them jump and take the fight to improve. We need to start next week with more clarity.
  8. I was afraid of him at 10, but if he starter material for the Chiefs, I feel we missed out. I was more sold on the G/LT tweener Banks that once he was selected i was lost. Happy for Loveland, but damn now we still might need a LT.
  9. Should have taken Simmons, killing it at KC. Afraid bc of his injury but the guy has feet.
  10. First time watching TTNL and I enjoyed Phil, he tells you how it is. Like it or not, there is no grey area.
  11. Go through the schedule and tell me how many wins you feel good enough to bet $100 on. I come up w 6, maybe 7. Just because we have improvements doesnt mean the tough schedule got easier. Just being realistic since I have had high hopes every year.
  12. We can very well see a 5 or 6 win team. That's why this team needs to put it together and fast. After Sunday, they better have the starting oline set. This is football and they are professionals, they should know the game and the technical crap they had to improve on should be worked out. Like Braxton had it nipped Friday but reverted back to his old ways Sunday. Now Darnell is getting called out for being lazy, he got the same warning when Ben took the job and rode his high horse into camp. As for Caleb, it is time to shine. I want to see a scripted 1st series and he nails it. Move the ball and get points 3 or 6.
  13. It could be, as AZ said the starters got more reps in the joint practice too. So the water hose was inserted. I feel the Bears have been notorious for not playing starters in preseason and it has always showed. Im not giving BJ any benefit until I see this team look the part. On paper, he is the mad scientist that has history of creating monsters. Lets start to see if that creativity followed him here
  14. New systems needs time and sitting most starters last week took that time away. I dont know where BJs thoughts are decisions came from but he's putting that to rest this weekend. Caleb needs to show he can run this offense at its most basic form. If he struggles, the weight will only get heavier and if he plays the position well, the hype will build. He was a B to C imo last year. I want him to get to A.

The interview was on 670 the score. Said sometimes guys need to feel the pressure to realize their potential. Its just a wakeup call to get him to be his best.

Wright is being challenged. He has been getting lazy when fatigued and it shows in his play according to Roshour.
  17. 2 CBs and 2 S's is what I saw. UDFA S Major Burns designated to IR and CB Shaun Wade to IR. A WR was cut too. I think it is to replace the two lost to injury and too look at more guys if T Johnson isn't looking as good as thought.
  18. He was pretty good, but didnt fit Poles requirements to keep. I think only because the Bears were in win now mode, they moved James Daniel to G and Cody Whitehair to C, such a dumb Bears move. If only they let them two develop at their more natural positions,we could have had a long term center and maybe a different Whitehair who didnt flip positions.
  19. Booker supposedly was nonchalant all TC but showed up Sunday. If he can build on this and bring it week after week, we may have that pass rusher that is not on paper. Just imagine if he becomes that, then I see Chicago going DT or even RB early 2026 draft.
  20. Hell with that, you need self propelled. Still gonna work a montez sweat up.
  21. Good thing they draft LT Joe Alt last year.
  22. Due to personal reasons has not made TC. No further details are available per grok. He did make rookie camp, so he was in house for a timem I don't think he would miss an opportunity of his lifetime for selfish reasons. Family would be a valid reason to miss. I would not miss the last days/weeks of my family member (parent, child, spouse) if I was going to be hours away. I dont know what this kid is going through, but it is enough he cannot be there and when he returns, ill root for him to grow.
  23. It all comes down to protecting the QB. Who can do it best deserves the job. Having depth that can is even better and seeing whole lines get decimated through a season means the position needs to be at least 8-9 deep.
  24. Right, plus they can watch Braxton game one play against Miami's best. Trapilo has and can use the time. As all rookies can.
  25. BJ said before camp started no one is a starter, you have to earn it. Starters from last year are equal as everyone in his eyes. Even this week BJ said it wasnt official.
