  1. I agree, double down with another prospect. If Poles sees it as Williams or Maye, so be it. I'd prefer to move down, net another future first to keep the ammo stock piled. Mahomes was the 10th pick and this draft seems to have a 4 maybe 5 QB prospects, so it would be great to end up in this same type of scenario. The difference between the Bears and KC is KC had the same system running for years (Reid hired in 2013, Mahomes drafted 2017). That is probably the most important factor at developing a winning culture, not drafting a highly talented QB.
  2. It was not pretty after the first series. I do not know any facts but believe Fields can change the play at the line. The triple boink screen calls could have been audibles by Fields and possibly the right calls by what he read. Same the week before with running the ball twice into the same wall. The important part is he did put the Bears in position to win after two costly fumbles. We ALL feared another fumble, sack, or int and he stepped up throwing a dime to Moore. They practice that exact play every week, so it is embedded muscle memory. Kneeling was also right, you cannot risk a fumble when you can kill the clock and get an easy 3 pts to take the lead. The low air yards was by design. The Vikings blitzed like 57% and they had to be quick one read plays. Kmet and the RBs had to help block more than release, especially later in the game. I wish Getsy would have tried some deep shots early especially after the INT just to break the Vikings from routinely bringing the additional pressure but he had to also protect the small lead.
  3. The Bears did exactly what you have to do. It wasn't to protect JF, it was to get the W. You will see smart players slide before scoring to safely down the ball to run the clock and kick a FG.
  4. I was gonna to say the same. Kmet would have broke that tackle if it was Edmund's.
  5. Getsy gets creative calling these outside screens but mix it up buddy.
  6. Getsy needs to figure some better plays. The Bears are not getting any push on inside runs.

I would rather see a trade down so they get a future first. Take McCarthy or Daniel's with a later pick. If they miss on MJH, take Bowers. Fields has shown small incremental improvements as he should. I am good keeping him another year or.two, but bring in competition

He left the SEC To go to the pass happy the Pac 12. He did t excellent in the SEC, doing better now. I am leary of Nix.
  9. Davis is fine to hold the position. The Bears can look to draft an upgrade and let him grow for a season before playing. They have Carter, but I don't see him being a high quality player. Something is up with Edmund's, he is not 100% healthy. I think he will be a better player and worth seeing it thru.
  10. Never know now that Warren is here and has his own mindset on running the team. I would think he would like Poles but maybe they do not jive. Putting some pressure on the GM doesn't hurt when this franchise had been a joke for too long. We need to be good now and we are closer to another tear down if we are firing coaches and going young at QB.
  11. Warren might just clean out the whole house. He also wants to be more involved on the football side.
  12. I see LT like you see QB, you cannot pass up a generational talent. I think we all agree that MHJ is a player we need.
  13. Just comparing stats to the generational talent of Mahomes, you can say Fields would be on pace with him if he stayed healthy all season. Mahomes has also been in the same system his entire career. I do think Mahomes has been shafted with his WRs hands, but that is a downfall after paying your QB. Everyone says Fields hasn't been great but this is also his first year with talent and they are finally healthy. Like Fields, his coaches finally have the full team. They too are learning on the go. It is time to win though, they need to put together a winning streak and overcome their bad decisions.
  14. The Bears seemed to load up on LBs in the preseason. I'd pass, but wouldn't be surprised if they take a flier. I like the 4 we have, I think Edmund's has alot more to show but hasn't had the health.
  15. Unfortunately, the team is not quite ready to win yet. Fields is only a piece of the pie, but he does hold the cherry on top. Hub Arkush said tonight fans cannot say Fields played a good game then day Getsy was bad. I think he missed the two run calls up the middle putting them 3rd and long. Those two plays took the Bears out and put them in a situation where a misjudged stutter step caused the ball to be finger tips from a win.
  16. A new coaching staff will ultimately mean a new QB. Unless the coach wants him. I couldn't imagine Fields having to go through another new system.

I think Jefferson returns for the prime time spotlight. I know Jaylon is looking forward to that match up. Then I check yahoo ff and they might sit him through the bye.

The vikings rematch will be a good test. He wasn't playing so well which might have been from a heads hot. I expect pressure again and I hope he handles it better this round. Extra time this week to prep.
  19. The last drive was coaching. Then Scott gave up on his route for a second. That ball was placed perfect if he didn't break his stride for a second.
  20. Some have already written him off. Maybe a coach like Harbaugh would be able to get this team going in the right direction. They can use this draft capital to build something great with the right mindset.
  21. If the defense was lockdown, I'd understand them running two plays, not the same up the middle crap though. The Bears should have won today and should have beat Denver. Coaching has killed two games when you had the lead
