Your right. I am sure the team wants to get a high draft pick for him but nothing I have heard has him going anywhere for anything good. If JA can get a 1st(unlikely) or a high 2nd I would be ok with it. But most analysts are saying that he will get between and low end 3rd and a 4th at best. I would rather see him and Martz get on the same page. Martz has never had a TE like Olsen before. I know Martz prefers to have a blocking TE which we have now with Brandon M but its not like Martz doesn't utilize the TE though. Ernie Conwell was probably his best receiving TE and he got 38 balls in 2002. I don't to hear about Vernon Davis because he couldn't stay out of trouble long enough to even warrant playing time.

According to the Tribune this morning by us cutting Vasher we save $10.25 million over the remainder of his contract. Stop dreaming about Olsen. He isn't going anywhere.

I think Manning needs to understand 1 thing though. Out of all the RFA's out there only 1, that's right only 1 players has signed an offer sheet with another team. That tells me that its unlikely that another team will offer him anything at all. And the fact that he hasn't done anything to this point in his career.

This is the perfect year to get rid of bad contracts as it doesn't hurt the team now with no cap at all. My only question is how much did we save from us cutting him.

Oh I know, I am the same way but when there is no football I look at baseball.

I know this is off base but just wondering if anyone knows of a Cubs forum like we have here for the Bears.

I agree. He hasn't shown the ability to even learn 1 position yet.
  8. The Mike Martz offense doesn't even utilize a FB so it doesn't matter.

According to Brad Biggs on his Twitter account, he is out. Apparently, veteran FB Jason McKie wasn't going to be a fit in the new Martz scheme. The #Bears have released him per @vxmcclure23.
  10. I can't arque with that. Hell if you wanna make it interesting go out and get TO then also. Could you imagine that locker room. There would be a lot of egos for Halas Hall.

Yes I agree the team was bad but the point is that they were a very good team in '08, they signed Milton Bradley to help get them over and instead he destroyed the team.

TO destroys teams from the inside out. This happens all the time with all sports. Prime example is look at the Chicago Cubs last year. A very good team that goes out signs Milton Bradley. Team was willing to give him a chance despite the obvious character issues. Anybody who follows baseball saw what happened to the Cubs last year so much so that the team was willing to straight cut him thinking that its an addition to the team. You can't just have all the best players on your team. The team needs unity. TO's teams never have unity and at the 1st sign of trouble you will see him through the QB under the bus. Most so called experts say that Cutler is one of the hardest players in the league to get along with because of his competitiveness. Do you really want to see what could happen when Cutler decides not to through TO the ball 10+ times in a game. Granted the team would be very entertaining to say the least but not sure I want to see it with a team that I follow.
  13. I am a fan of incognito but the problem that I have with him is his nastiness tends to land him in trouble more times than not.
  14. Your right. This past year Cleveland refused to give him the chance because they didn't want him to surpass the % of snaps taken because they didn't want to pay him. I bet that if 3 QB's went down and he was the only guy remaining that they would have called someone up from the PS or worse yet do what we did with Chad Hutchinson. Call while he is surfing, just to insure they didn't have to pay him. Lets also keep in mind how bad Cleveland is. Really bad team with NO receivers and an Oline that might have been worse than ours. I still believe that Quinn can be successful in the NFL if given a real opportunity to play. My gut tells me that he will be given that chance in Denver and he will succeed as that is a much better offense that would be ideal for his arm strength that he has and that Orton does not have. It was joked on the SCORE maybe Orton should pull a Cutler and ask to be traded now lol.
  15. Who do you think will be available on the Oline that is a vet. I haven't heard any names really.
  16. Lets also keep in mind that LS and JA have both said that we need to get better at FS. Not sure of the wording they used but they addressed the FS position specifically.
  17. Denver just traded Peyton Hillis, this years 6th and a late round pick next year for Brady Quinn. Kyle had a good year with us then gets traded away. He put up good numbers last year for Denver and now who know what will happen. Poor guy just cant catch a break.
  18. bowlingtwig replied to a post in a topic in Bearstalk
    Hell NO to both.
  19. Just imagine if Urlacher, Harris and Peppers can regain that fire to go along with the fire that Briggs has. The D could be pretty good.
  20. Has Dallas lost a free agent. If they have not then they can't go after him.

Brad Biggs is reporting via Twitter that Kevin Jones has officially been released.
  22. I have a hard time believing that they are completely dumb and idiotic. I guess my other point is how come another team hasn't offered him a contract yet.
  23. But I am wondering 1 thing about Atogwe. Why did St Louis tender him with such a low offer? There has to be something to it considering that he his a good FS. Wouldn't u think at worst that St Louis would want something in return for him.
  24. I want Atogwe also but lets also keep in mind that FS is also considered to be very deep in the draft as well. Not sure if we could get lucky enough to land a starter in the 3rd though, I am just throwing it out there. I hope we are not done with FA's but we could be considering we just spent 100+mil.
  25. This is a good debate and I think this will go on for a while as well. As of right now our 2 starters will be Brown and Peppers and then we will have Anderson and maybe Gilbert as the swing guys. So I guess my question is can Brown play LDE. I have really only seen him play on the right side. Peppers excels at both sides for as far as I am concerned and Brown always seems to do well and if Brown can't play on the Left side I think it would be pointless to move him because then I think it would negate the signing of peppers a little.
