Please show me 1 person on here that is saying that he is a #1. I can't recall a single person. If I am not mistaken I am probably one of his biggest supporters on here and I have argued Hester with you for far to long. As I have said in the past to you that I don't think he is "useless" I believe is the word that you have used in the past week when referring to Hester. I have said in those arguments that he isn't useless as he is showing very good progress considering that he was just an athlete coming out of college, but that he is not a #1 by any stretch of the imagination. Even with his contract he isn't getting paid a #1. He can get paid as a #1 if and only if he puts up the #'s and becomes our #1.

Your right about that especially this past season. I think alot of our problems on Defense this year was injuries. That D was decimated by injuries. Who knows what the D would have looked like if either Urlacher or Pisa were actually able to play.

Your right, he will eventually get in. The hall committee usually is against voting players in on the 1st try, which have given Dent the upper hand but when 2 of the 1st timers are Rice and Smith you just can't deny them. Rice and Smith were 2 of the best to ever play the game regardless of what position they played. Dent will get in, know one should have to worry about that. Most experts believe that he will get in within the next couple of years. Once a player gets in all will remember him as a HOF, they just don't care of how long it took someone to get in. Look at how long Floyd Little had 2 wait to get in. He waited 30 years and he was a great RB but most people don't realize it because he was part of the old AFL prior to the merger. But that doesn't discount what he was able to accomplish. The only thing that I hope is that such a deserving candidate like Dent still be with us to accept the award.

Yeah your right. I saw the article when I was delivering it this morning. In the '08 season our offense couldn't stay on the field long enough to even provide a breather for the defense, between all the quick 3 and outs and very bad field positioning for us. I remember lots of time the defense would get less than a minute of a breather before being right back out there again and the opponents were starting near midfield. You just can't ask your defense to bend like that all the time without it finally breaking.

There is no way I would trade a Hester(still young and has improved every year as a WR) to make room for Holt(at the end of his career and not the same that he used to be)

I like this idea but I just hope that people don't think he is our answer to a #1. He had a solid year last year but he isn't the same guy.

I agree with both of you. At the end of the year we really started to see how much Cutler was trusting DA to make the plays. I would hope to see him there.

Why do you think Cutler is the exact opposite of a QB to work within a Martz system. I believe he is perfect for the system. Martz wants a strong armed QB with that is accurate and has the ability to hit someone downfield. This is exactly what Cutler is. I don't know if the system is right for us considering the other personel that we currently have but IMO Cutler is a good fit. I do agree that he could take a lot of sacks this year though because of how bad the Oline is. Lets hope that FA can bring someone new and that Tice can help bring them up to being a good Oline very quickly.

I understand hiring friends and stuff unfortunately with Lovie, that is all he has done really. Its more of a trend that anything else. Most of us knew that this was going to happen. Not shocked at all.

Good to hear from you LT. Your right. Matt Millen was the one responsible for drafting all those WR's. If people remember right Martz had said that he wanted Jay Cutler coming out of the draft and had rated him extremely high.

I agree, I know that it is just a quality control coach and you never hear anything about them. Its more of the fact that he continues to hire people that he knows extremely well. Who was Lovie trying to fool when he said at the press conference a month ago that he was excited to bring in a person with fresh ideas. I like Marinelli but he is far from fresh ideas.

Who are you trying to kid. Martz built that offense and helped develop players. Warner never started a game prior to Martz. In fact he was a 3rd string guy in '98 backing up Tony Banks and Steve Bono, and was the 2nd stringer in '99 behind Trent Green, but of course we know what happened and Green went down in preseason and the rest is history. Martz helped develop Torry Holt who was a rookie in '99. Issac Bruce had already proven himself prior to him arriving, making a couple of pro bowls and being rookie of year and setting records before him. Faulk came over in '99 in a trade with the colts because of character issues and the Colts Bill Polian did not want to deal with it. Martz turned that offense from 27th over to 1st in his 1st year. Matter of fact the worst his offense was ranked when he was there was 13th. I know what has happened since the Rams and won't argue those points. Don't sit there and say the team was handed to him on a silver platter when he was 1 of the people that helped build the team. A coach that was handed a team on a silver platter was Mike Tomlin.

The biggest thing that we are trying to say is that Hester is not useless. No one on here is trying to saying that he is a #1. BTW, I don't see him going back to being the primary returner as his contract that he signed has clauses in there about being a WR, not a returner.

Yeah, I know what you mean. When I read that I felt like puking. I am really disgusted that Lovie was unwilling to wait until Monday to interview the guy from Indy just because he said awhile ago that he wanted the staff to be completed by Super Bowl. Then I read that Lovie's son gets a job as a quality coach for the defense. Please tell me what has he possibly have done to deserve this job besides the fact of who his father is. I hate it when people get jobs just because of family members instead of what they did to deserve the job. I have a possibility of getting a job with my fathers company but I still have to go through school and everything else before he will take me on.

Heres an idea then, start cheering for another team. I don't like what lovie has done either but at least some of us believe that maybe just maybe the team can get better.

We also name Andrew Hayes Stocker offensive quality control coach and named LS son Mikal defensive quality control coach.

Brad Biggs just posted on his twitter account that we have promoted Rod Marinelli to D cordinator, the asst d line coach eric washington was promoted to d line coach and we also hired Shane Day as the new QB coach.

I completely agree. Martz is very intelligent and I think that he is out to prove the naysayers wrong.

I am sorry but there is absolutely no way on god's green earth we trade barring some miracle trade. I don't mind moving him to slot and having him being the go to guy for returns. Most people have complained about how bad this WR corp is and if you remove him for the equation its even worse unless we are able to made a miracle trade to get a Boldin or Marshall type of player.

Ok, so you being the pessimistic believing that our offense will really suck this year and we know that you believe that this defense will suck once again without a major change. What do you think our record will be. 1-15. maybe 2-14

I read this different. I took this to mean that if the coaching staff would like for him to limit his role as a WR he would love to go back being a KR/PR.
