  1. Say what you want, the kid has moxie...
  2. Why the hell can we not find a better option than Josh Bellamy on the field. I've hated him since he dropped two dozen (☺) passes in one game a few years ago, yet he's still here, messing up plays.
  3. Team looked slow and tired today. Is it just me or did several of our players give up on both of those Wilson TDs? I believe it was Fuller who just started jogging. Not saying he could have caught him, but its indicative of the effort I saw all over the defense today. I don't expect to win every game, but it chaps my ass when players give up on plays.
  4. Ahhh, feels just like the good old days - Defense that might show up and an offense that is completely lost.
  5. Wow. They need to wake up! Nobody even close on those TD passes.
  6. You're right Stinger, it's not the same. They are a different team and they actually looked like a pro football team in the first half. What remains the same is the frustration, but after that and the Irish whiskey wore off, it's easier to see the progress. Last year we wouldn't have even hoped for a victory or got excited about what we were seeing in a half of football. One day this team will be mature and experienced and I'm sure the results will be different. At the very least, Rodgers can't play forever. 😁
  7. Since I graduated high school 25 years ago, they are 13-38.
  8. This is a shit franchise. I've been a fan since I was 10 years old and have been rewarded with garbage. I'm tired of being a joke.
  9. Given some of the high profile off the field issues some players have had, no way I agree to this as an organization. If you're concerned about losing your money because of off the field issues, maybe try being a responsible grownup and not putting yourself into crap situations. I've gotten into my fair share of trouble, but it's not that hard to stay out of it. To be honest, this kind of thinking is dangerous to the team. I hope it gets worked out and Smith is a great player for the Bears, but I'm a Bears fan, not a player fan. I'd rather let him walk, and get nothing for him, draft someone who can get on-board, than play this stupid game. I know - crazy. But the prima Donna athlete B.S. gets old.
  10. I like what the Bears have done. I also thought the Broncos did well with the first picks, don't know much about 4th pick though.
  11. Sounded like it was a matter of not being comfortable with his medical situation more than not needing him. I think the ball distribution is a little high, especially for the TEs. Look at the top 7 pass catchers of the Chiefs last year: Travis Kelce 83 1,038 Tyreek Hill 75 1,183 Kareem Hunt 53 455 Albert Wilson 42 554 Charcandrick West 27 150 Demarcus Robinson 21 212 Demetrius Harris 18 224 That's 2 TE with 101, 2 RBs with 80 and 3 WRs with 138. The only others on the roster with double digit catches are also WRs- 2 WRs for 25. We're still going to need a solid 4th, assuming White turns out to be something. I would assume he's not and we need two more WRs. If he is, then that's gravy
  12. I think you're right. Can't wait to see our version of Travis Kelce.
  13. Either way, I don't think Gabriel is a #2. There are a lot of "Ifs" with this group. If those Ifs work out then we'll all be really happy with the receivers on the team. I'm just not sure I'd bank on this group with all the question marks. I think this is a weakness for us, more needs to be added. Last year we were hopeful that White and Meredith would lead this group and we had nothing behind them. Injuries happen, I just don't want the insurance plan to be Josh Bellamy again.
  14. With the possibility that the Bears are not matching the offer to Meredith, I was looking at who is currently on the roster. It's pretty scary. We have a bunch of question marks and not much depth. Our #1 is coming back from an injury. Oh, so is our #2, whether it's White (zero confidence in him) or Meredith, who may not even be with the team. So our top 2-3 receivers are coming off injury. We do have a speedy slot guy. Beyond that - Josh "As long as it doesn't hit me in the hands" Bellamy, Tanner Gentry, and two guys I've never heard of - DeMarcus Ayers and Mekale McCay. I like the additions on offense this off season, but are we really in a better position at WR than we have been for the last few years? Is anyone else concerned about our depth here?
  15. Don't know if this was posted before and I know there are many who are not a fan of McDaniels, but it's a good read. I don't think there are any of us that didn't mess up when we were young and knew more than the rest of the world. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2666428...-pick-his-spots
  16. I have seen a quite a times now the theory that we could trade back with Cleveland. Have I missed something, have they said they are willing to deal? Cleveland has just as many, if not more, holes in the roster as any team in the top 5 of the draft, I don't think they're in a position to give up 2 additional picks. Just my thoughts as we're all guessing here.
  17. I don't know that Watson is a top 3 player in the draft either, but draft history is full of "can't miss" guys that fell on their face. I have watched a few Clemson games (6-8)over the last couple of years and I will say this the kid is a winner. I have read a couple articles talking about his leadership, not just on the field, but off as well. He is a competitor. As for his height, he's 6'2", the NFL average is 6'3". It's not like he's "5 foot nothin ' and a 100 and nothin' " (shout out to all you Irish fans with a little Rudy reference). How many of us would turn down Brees or Wilson??? I also don't see him as reckless with the ball, his stats bear this out :
  18. Respect is earned. Nobody cares if you were competitive or if you tried hard. I've been impressed by the coaching staff and the players and that with all the missing players they've been in games. I also think they have some good, young talent on the team. I'm not sure how many years it will be before they're a playoff team, but I think the arrow is pointing up. At the end of the day, "just win, baby". Winning = respect
  19. I play Hoyer. The is a huge difference in the way the offense looks with Hoyer at QB (never thought I'd ever type that). Sure, it's not perfect, but it's not as unstable either. This team is in full rebuild mode, we know what we have with Cutler and his inconsistent play does not help young guys develop. With Hoyer, we also know what we've got, the ol' "not going to win you any games, not going to lose you any either". But he is more consistent than Cutler, I believe, spreads the ball around more evenly, and you can see the difference. I've never been a fan of playing a player based on his salary. Their salary is a sunk cost, doesn't matter if they play or not (minus any incentives obviously). You play the guy that gives your team the best chance to win. And maybe that doesn't even mean winning this year, but winning down the road because young guys develop and aren't hindered by a qb that is out the door anyway.
  20. Thank you!!! Looks like I'll be getting one after all. Ever make it to Alaska to do some fishing? I don't do a lot of fly fishing but hear people up here love it. Again, many thanks. Happy Holiday! No worries, thinking about getting one myself. Fly fishing in Alaska is still on the bucket list. Had it all planned a few years ago, until my wife dropped a little surprise on me. Kids, what are gonna do?
  21. If ya'll can't find someone and want to make it a 10 team league, since I was the last one in I will drop out. Let me know.
  22. Small town in the middle of Utah. Close to the mountains and all the outdoor activities I can handle.
