Yeah, but what are we replacing them with?? Kevin White???? Jameis Winston's backup?? Cutler had bad seasons because we couldn't find adequate coaching to maximize his talents. Gase did well, but we couldn't keep him. There are more guys like that out there, they just don't work for the Bears.

I've been a Bears fan a very long time. I'm on this board 5times a week. But I hardly ever post. But these last 24hrs have been crazy. See….I remember the years without a QB. I remember going every year with 2-3 subpar QB's rotating the starting spot almost on a weekly basis. As horrible of a season Jay Cutler had last year, he is still the best QB available. We don't have one. I understand why they let him go to most Bears fan's applause. But what are we replacing him with??? Everyone hated Brandon Marshall, complained about Alshon and didn't like Bennett's abrasiveness. But, I think we all know our team would be far more competitive with them still on the roster, even with any potential locker-room issues. Now we have our choir boys. I hope y'all enjoy.

I'm actually one of the few guys that can appreciate Daniel Manning if allowed to stay at nickel. But, he's definitely not reason enough to justify trading out of the first round. Especially when you factor Dusty into the mix. I liked him too BTW. He just didn't get it done. Neither are proper justification to not take a shot at a Tier 1 player, IMHO.

Sorry guys. But, I'm tired of Angelo's history of trading down in attempt to stockpile 7th round picks who don't make the team or never make an impact. Can we get a real guy, please? What's wrong with trading UP every now and then to get a legitimate impact player? It takes absolutely no courage to trade down. I heard we'll possibly go as low as 42. Really??? Just in time to ensure all top-tier O-linemen are gone. Ditto for DL and CB. But hey, we may be able to get another 3rd level, 5'8 WR! What a joke!

They're not going to dissolve. It's their league. They can simply get different players. Some players are willing to play at the terms they've offered. Others can sit out. But, if 53 players are suiting up in Bears helmets and jerseys, best believe I would watch. The NFL makes up some of the best business owners in American industry. Many own private companies. There is no way a judge will force a private company to open up its books to its employees on demand or to negotiate compensation. That would set precedent that would apply outside of football. Big long shot.

We signed Cutler the year before. I'd consider that a major move.

We don't need a rookie WR to come in and catch 80 balls. They don't have to be superstars. We just need him to fill a role that we don't have right now. Big, fast and physical. Guys like Julio Jones, AJ Green, Michael Floyd and that kid from Pitt all have these traits and are probably as NFL ready as you'll get. They can probably fit that role and would help us almost immediately.

I think I'm going to have to take the minority opinion on this one. I think we can get a good veteran FA to compete at LT. Face it, Mike Tice isn't giving up on Webb at RT just yet. I think he likes the direction he's going. We can get a good interior lineman in the 2nd and maybe another in the 3rd. However, we need "a man" at WR. We don't have one. We need someone who plays big and would fight for the football (please don't tell me Aromashadou). This would help Jay Cutler tremendously. There are a few very good ones out there this year. If one of them falls to us, I think JA will grab him.

You know what? I check this site almost daily. But, I don't usually opine. But, all of this stuff I'm hearing about Cutler has me pissed. Did these guys watch a single game this year?? The dude was getting KILLED back there all year. He never quit, bitched or complained. The only time he left a game is when he was knocked silly behind some terrible line play. The previously sure-handed Johnson allowed the kick to bounce directly off his helmet and New Orleans recovered at the Chicago eight yard line. Two plays later, QB Aaron Brooks scored to cut the lead to 20-14, and Chicago would lose 29-23 despite a last-ditch drive by Jim Miller that resulted in an end-zone interception. This is interesting. I don't often hate any Bears. There are folks I think we should cut. But, I usually don't hate them. However, there is a guy that I used to hate. BIG TIME! I forget his name. One of you guys that have watched for a while have to help me. Please. I can't think of his name and it's killing me!! He was a running back/fullback about ten years ago (I believe). However, we had him on kickoff returns!! He was our main returner for a while. He was terribly slow and had to be the worst kickoff returner in history. His most infamous moment was when he let the ball hit his facemask on a return (Buffalo, I believe). The other team got the ball and scored a TD. We had the lead at the time, but this moment changed the momentum of the game. I think we were 2-0 at the time. This win would have put us at 3-0. But, we started a downhill slide for the rest of the year. I didn't like him before this. But, I started to despise him even worse after that. I always blamed him for changing the momentum and entire direction of the team at that time. I'm sure one of you guys remember. Please help!! BTW, on the favorite, Walter for sure!! He was the guy that made me a Bears fan!!

I'll admit that I had to tip my hat to Lovie during last game. He finally made adjustments! He didn't even wait until halftime or the next game to do it. Pittsburgh scored very easily the opening drive and was almost about to do the same in the second drive. We made adjustments brought the pressure and began to shut them down. I think it was one of his finest. I have to give it to him.

I watched the Pittsburg game again and came out very impressed with Alfalava. I'm not sure if he's going to be the guy that can "rally the troops" during Packers week. But, I loved how he played. He just seemed to be in the right place at the right time. I think they credited him with four tackles. But, it seemed like he had more. Still too early to tell. But, he just may be our replacement for Mike Brown.

BTW, you also are in the market for a new Administrative Assistant. Changes things huh? She may be a bitch at home and drives her husband crazy. But, what do you care? She types 80 wpm!! In regards to these players (Plax specifically), we are talking about guys that have proven that they can play at a very high level at a position that is a need for us. If he shows up late, fine him. Fine him by the minute if you choose. Just sign him first.

Agreed. But, I honestly think that personality stuff should be a distant second to how they perform on the field. We all would prefer to have good guys. But, I think that off-the-field stuff is given WAY too much emphasis on this board. We've discussed many guys who may be available. Almost every time, the focus is on something they've done off the field. Very little imagination/speculation is given to how we would use them or what it would do our offense. This is football. These guys are here to play a very violent and competitive game. By nature, you're not going to have a bunch of boy scouts. Actually, you kinda want some mean and nasty players and hope their aggressiveness/testosterone can be kept in check enough so they don't get suspended. If they don't show up to meetings on time, fine the heck out of 'em and then fine them some more. Once they see their money being affected, they'll wise up. I also don't mind having the NFL's version of "Cheddar Bob" on our team; as long as he doesn't lose speed and can equal his production on gameday, so be it.

Ahhh, the constant quest for the player that will pass "the mom test"!!! Doesn't matter how much we need them, any past successes they may have had or what they can bring to our team. What they actually do on the football field is secondary to issues like personality, sense of humor, ability to cook, clean driving record, good with kids, timing on planting tomatoes in the spring, easter speech memorization, how he makes his bed etc. Plax Burress coupled with Cutler, Devin Hester on the other side, Matt Forte and an revamped OL would make our offense the best it has been since the old Turner days. I could see this offense creating big matchup problems for opponents with the ability to possess the ball to rest our defense. But who really cares about that stuff? We need to bring in nice players that spend their off-seasons doing mission work in third world countries.

Agreed. Even if we did sign Harrison or Holt, I'd still like us to use our 2nd round pick on a WR.

I honestly stopped watching ESPN for NFL news over a year ago. I live/breath the NFL Network. The commentary, insight and perspectives are much more thorough, detailed and accurate. I see NFL Network as the place to go for gurus/fanatics who have a passion for football and ESPN for the casual football fan who may like other sports better and only want a "top-level" or superficial understanding of what's going on in the NFL.

McDaniels clearly cannot hold Billicheck's jockstrap. Say what you want about The King of Boston. But, you won't hear about him backstabbing his players. He may be a hard-a$$. You may not like what you hear. But, at least he'll be honest.
