I agree and I like how our offense matches up with this defense in this regard. Until we get better guard play in the run game it doesn't matter who is playing across from them. This might be the game Olsen shines

Through his representation the Milton Bradley Agency Lemonej would like to formerly apologize to Terra T for comments he made in regards to his Ronnie Knox post could there be any relation? It was not my intention to offend anyone and my personal frustration boiled over and I said somethings I shouldn't have said. Hopefully we have cleared the air and we can move on.This fans board and posters deserve to be treated with respect and in the future(going forward) I plan to refrain from wearing my sensitivity on my sleeve. Sincerly Eric "lemonej "Jacobs ps Though I did this tongue in cheek to make fun of myself I really do mean I'm sorry!

Jason great pick from one of my favorite movies and I am not challenging anyone to a fight and consider this issue closed since it would be counter productive for this board for me to continue down this path if I am a lone wolf.Trust me I am not sensitive about this and really don't have to prove that to you or anyone else because I come on here to talk about the Bears. I have disagreed with you in the past and you and I have both agreed to disagree and usually avoid each other's posts because of this. So of all the times I have posted on the 2 sites you have seen me on you can recount 1 other time that I was overly sensitive about something? Admin privileges?Thats not why I'm here its the Bears and thats it. If I used my privaleges the way I can I would have deleted the post but instead I responded to it in what I thought was appropriate but now I see that I was completely WRONG about it and maybe I was a little too sensitive. SO I APOLOGIZE TO TERRA T AND THE REST OF THIS BOARD IF I CREATED A HOT BUTTON ISSUE BECAUSE THAT WAS NOT MY INTENTION.

NFO if that is the case that sounds great. The secondary needs a vocal leader who can back it up with his play and so far Alfalava has done his part. You hear Wale talking but he seems analytical and Alex Brown is inconsistent with his leadership and so far he has been quiet this year. The talking heads on the tube have been Cutler,Wale,Olsen and Bowman here in Chitown. Some of our veterans have been quiet this year which may be a good thing. I think of Briggs like a nest full of Hornets, he doesn't buzz unless stir him up.

Since I am African American maybe I find it offensive. Since I have posted on this site and the previous one you guys have never heard me play the race card and furthermore I wasn't hinting to the post being racist. I was pointing out why it was a bad joke and asked you to be careful. My mother's maiden name is Knox and she has someone caucasian in here roots. You understand my point? As for calling me a Moron if you wish to do so in my face and not at a keyboard let me know then you can see if I exist or not.

Right now Beekman and Williams are his pupils but it has been JA's customary practice to bring in vets instead of trying to develop someone as a draft pick. If we could get someone that has some significant talent and some significant years left like guys that have come free over the years like Faneca or Hutchinson we may not be having this discussion.
-
So lets add them both to the list.LOL
-
What if he is related? It may be highly unlikely since one family is from California and the other from Texas but let us not forget the history of this country that you may be making light of. Knox is a fair complexioned African American who could have some one caucasian in his roots. Why is that funny to you? Just look at the current sitting president and compare his skin color to Knox and see if there are any similarities. TT you need to remember that this is a free web site and there are a lot of visitors who come from many walks of life. Sometimes what maybe funny to you may be offensive to others.

Nailed it NFO. This is Turner's hand picked guy who was with him at Illinois and for the lif of me besides Tony Pashos I don't recall any other player that he developed that made it to the NFL as an O-linemen. He along with Darryl Drake are the guys I am wondering how they are keeping their jobs.

The guy that everyone is calling "Thomas Smith" I think is named Thomas Carter and he was supposed to be a good cover corner when he was with the Redskins. If you want to talk about bad signings ther have been a laundry list of them including Ironhead, Chris Hudson,Carter, Lewis Tillman,Eddie Kennison,Josh Bullocks,Phillip Daniels,Blake Brokermeyer, Henry Tillman, Kordell Stewart, etc. Musin Mohammed was not a bad signing, he just didn't fit the same way in this offense but if we want to get technical about his contribution to the team look at all the guys who were here with him and notice that all most of all them are still in the league on other teams, that where I see his impact. You think he had some influence on Bobby Wade,Justin Gage,Mark Bradley and Bernard Berrian?

Since the thread turned from how the receivers are catching the ball very close to their body to who is this year's most disappointing player in TWO GAMES, I'll chime in and say by far it has to be the O-line. This was where the most offseason money was spent and Omiyale for one has been the gate keeper who left his post. This unit has been better at the screeen game than anything else.On those passes to the WRs on the sideline screens they have been doing fairly okay but, just simply firing off the ball to drive the opponnent back and create running lanes has not happened like we had hoped. With Searrle runninh a 4-3 I would hope that they have a better game trying to establish the run because as soon as this happens we will see just how fast Knox and Hester are on play action fakes.
-
The main thing I have noticed about the Bears" receivers form the first 2 games is that they are catching the balls from Cutler with both hands in their mid sections and Knox on a couple of occassions leaped and caught the ball in his stomach. The same can be said for Kellen Davis,Hester and Bennett. The one attempt at a catch that was in a receivers hands was when Olsen got hit hard by Carter. This trend is not a problem now but when the weather gets cold balls may bounce off receivers.I have always been a fan of hands catchers but don't get madif you catch with the body but hold on to the ball. If you watch our WRs closly you can see receivers readjusting to balls that hit them in the body and bounce up. Olsen seems to be the one who is having the most problem with this as is Forte who I saw having a little trouble with the speed at which Cutler gets the ball to him. This is something I hope gets better as the season progresses.

Romo sometimes shows why he was undrafted and in big games it gets magnified. Its no different from Kurt Warner who if he is not surrounded by great players struggles at best.
-
Thats what I'm saying Btwig. Sometimes its what teams show on tape that may cause a DC to alter his thinking and I believe this may help Forte get bettter running lanes.
-
Who was the leading tackler on the Rams last season? What position did he play? Its Pisa and he was the MLB on the Rams last season. So no one has asked the team if he is going to be moved to the middle but if Hunter does poorly in the next couple of games he is a likely candidate.
-
TT if a team trades for a player and makes him the face of the franchise then its on them to surround him with the necessary tools to succeed. I usually avoid your post because IMO they tend to be a little insightful and not based on stats or facts. Right now the face of the franchise was Urlacher and now with him being injured the face of the franchise should be the HC.

Hub is the same guy a couple of weeks ago while previewing the NFC North on PFW Weekly on the SCOE said that clearly Knox was not ready to make an impact on the field as a WR and that he might have some value in the return game.Well I'm not an expert like Hub but if the Steelers see Knox on the field I don't think the safety will come up to the box so fast.

The team has only the cheap a__ McKaskey family to blame for not trying to build their own facility.Evry since the Bears got rid of the artificial surface they have gone through this replacing the turf scenario. Why does any of this happen at all? Beacuse the Chicago Park District says that the Bears only account for 11 dates out of a 365 day calendar year. In my mind they are right and also in my mind when the Bears built a indoor practice in Lake Forest they spared no expense and the turf is artificial. Why not have field turf for the stadium? Inquiring minds want to know.
-
Great response. When the NFL and the Bears dropped big coin for the refurbishing of the stadium where was the love for the veterans then? When U2 was performing this past weekend where was the love for the veterans? When the field crew is replacing the turf after this concert what does that have to do with the veterans? Nothing. Listening to the local new reports makes me believe that the Payton family is paying for the construction of the statue but are not goping to grease the palms of the Chicago Park District executives to make this happen.Supposedly the commissioner is on vacation and that is why this issue is unresolved according to Connie Payton.

NFO this is a pattern with Turner since he has been here. Lets keep an eye on this. I can't remember if he was here when Marcus Robinson was here but he was here with Curtis Conway and he never dveloped to be a number one when he was here. I believe he is really hard on rookir WRs.

What is a playmaking stat? Isn't forced fumbles one of them? I think Briggs is one of the leaders on the team in that stat along with Tillman. You have been on record as saying you didn't think Briggs was good without Urlacher on the field and now you still seem to be reluctant to acknowledge that this defense's success may hinge on what Briggs can do. This is so important to the team that they all felt it was important to name Briggs a defensive captain. Who was covering those backs when Urlacher has been injured which seems to be a constant recently? I think Briggs and Hillenmeyer are decent at coverage but none of our LBs are sack guys. Instead we have more sacks recently from DBs than LBs. Until they take Vasher of the field look for Manning to play LB in some Nickel situations.
-
Briggs has 3 Ints for TDs that ranks him behind Mike Brown and our MLB needs to get deep down the middle in our defense. Briggs may be better in short zones than deep middle. IMHO he is a play maker but if he is not playing the SLB its hard to get picks when basically you are covering backs who have caught a check down pass.

The past TC showed us that Cutler had a preference for Brandon Rideau and Devin Aromashodu and during the first game Rideau was on his couch and DA was inactive I guess with Davis getting some playing time. Why would they decide to play Davis over DA?
