  1. Tampa Bay is pretty bad also. Detroit is one of those teams to be leary of because no matter what the record is they always play the Bears tough.
  2. We"re on the same page Pix and I know there was a big uproar when they switched to the 16 game schedule but it wasn't coming from the players who loved the idea.
  3. Alex Brown will play this weekend in Seattle and he did light workouts today on the side but was held out of the light walk through. The writer for this story is John Mullin who used to cover the Bears for the Tribune.
  4. Pix thats precious.LOL

I just think of the former Cleveland Cavaliers player named Bobby Phils who was racing with a teammate(David Wesley) and at high speed crashed and instanly killed himself. That is why Lance is a lucky man because pictures of the vehicle looked horrific.
  6. Believe me I understand what you are saying but they had the same arguement when the schedule went from 14 to 16 games.Urlacher played sparingly in the preseason and in the first game he was out for the year. What did holding him back gain this team? The same can be sais for Pisa and Dez Clark who all got hurt in the regular season opener. The only guy we were counting on that got hurt during the prseason is Kevin Jones and I believe he was an injury waiting to happen. Most of our players that avoided playing in the preseason like Tillman and Tommie Harris had very late surgeries that if they had them soon after the last season maybe they wouldn't be slow to come around now.
  7. Again I'm not saying that either were franchise material but I believe the organization thought that Grossman was a potential franchise QB and what helps a franchise QB develop better than a good running game? A solid and reliable WR. Based on his previous season's numbers and what I heard from the team during that time Moose was brought in for his ability and to be a veteran presence in the lockerroom. Now since it has been confirmed that the lockerroom is ruled by Kruetz his presence was needed to mentor our young WRs. I believe Bernard Berrian for one is a perfect example of a guy who benefitted tremendously from Moose's presence being here. Justin Gage blossoming after he left here playing the same way Moose plays is no coincidence to me. Bobby Wade mugging for the cameras could be somewhat tied to MM since its obvious MM wants a career in broadcasting or TV after he is done playing.LOL
  8. You seem to be reading something in my post that I'm not trying to say. Since Lovie has been here defensive rookies have seen the field quicker than offensive rookies.T. Harris, T Johnson ,C Harris,Payne, Mc Bride, Stelz,Bowman,Manning, Anderson and now Alfalava have all seen the field as rookies. Offensive rookies OTOH have struggled to see the field whether it was Benson,Bradley ,Metcalf, Beekman,Bennett and now Iglesias it seems that this offfensive schem has not been made simple enough for players to come in and see the field quickly. This year Knox and last year Forte were the exceptions with this offensive staff.Nfo when a guy with a highly regarded Vanderbilt education can't see the field his first year and then in the next year when the team acquires his former college QB and he becomes the starter it puzzles the heck out of me.
  9. NFO let me clarify this by saying I don't disagree with the point you're making but believe that also this team thought they had their QB(Grossman) in place and thought of Moose as getting him a weapon. With Berrian already being here and I think we had Jammiin Elliott,Wade and Gage he was viewed as an instant veteran leader to this young group and was thought to be a number 1 WR because none of this group had shown they were going to be the guy before he got here.
  10. If you look at it from a season ticket holder standpoint they pay the same amount of money for preseason as they do regular season tickets. The players are working out in April and May and most of our draft picks are signed a month before TC. So why not play 2 more games?

Without being a complete jerk if you relate his case to Reggie Rogers or Dante Stallworth he only tore up one of his own toys and nothing else.
  12. We do have one thing in common I was born with a lemon shaped head and you were born Lithuanian. LOL
  13. Don't hold back on Lovie beacuse his penchant for not saying anything when he is asked a question has grown old to all of us but as long as he keeps giving his OC a blank check he is going to have to live and die with what they do on offense. He has really embarrassed himself when he hast stated time and time again that "We are a running team and we will get off the bus running". If anyone wants to go after Lovie it should start here and keep an eye on his defense because he is calling the plays. He is wearing a bullseye on his back for sure now and the injuries will no longer hold up in my eyes. The only thing he has in his favor is that the Bears have never fired a coach with money owed to him. Its put up or shut up for Lovie.
  14. Its two fold my head has a point to it and my light complexion(for a blackman) is considered yellow so during a card game with my 16 inch(Chicago-style) softball team members ,one of my teammates blirted out he was being beaten by a Lemonhead and a Boston Baked Bean. The later name was that of a dark complexioned teammate of mine because we were kickin' their rears in a card game that was his only retort. So the name stuck and the next year on the back of my jersey I asked for them to put Lemonhead on there and my number was 00 and if anyone can remember me from my bearstalk days I had 00 in my sig.
  15. I'm not talking about Anderson I'm talking about Carter's hit on Olsen and all the replays and super slo-mos I saw didn't make me believe the hit was vicious or illegal. This is just a new rule that is being strictly enforced. If they wanted to they could review plays and issue holding penalties on every down. I'm simply stating that the game is being scrutinized too much now. I grew up watching all the great MLBs of the 60's and 70's and they would still owe money if they were being fined like they are now.
  16. NFO you know if I had to through anyone under the bus its gpoing to be Ron Turner because of his connection with Wannie and if we go back to his first tenure hear remember a guy named Curtis Conway and a guy named Marcus Robinson both struggled under his offense early on and Robinson didn't emerge nor did Conway until Crowton and Jauron came on board.
  17. IMHO Adams style of play is perfectly complimentary to Harris' healthy style of play and I believe he is one of the main reasons our run defense has been decent so far the other is that we have untalked about more speed on D. Adams is deserving of any praise he gets and he kind of reminds me of Steve Mc Michael of the 85 Bears.

DBDB it seems to me that Urlacher seems like he is sitting on the crapper when he is being interviewed. AKA he is uncomfortable with the focus on him which is why he welcomed the addition of Cutler to the team to shield some of the media focus off of him. Contrary to what the much traveled Bobby Wade says.
  20. Mad L not being contrarian but I committ myself to 20 weeks of Bears football if 18 of them are real games and 2 of them are preseason I could take that. Just think of how much the speculation would cut down.
  21. Another quirk of Adams is that he is a Lemonhead addict like myself and the piece last year on Bears Gameday Live with him touring the Ferrarra Pan Candy Company was classic with him actually adding ingredients to a candy run was hillarious. As a player he has improved tremendously and he was rumored to be in the Bears sights when he came out of college.

In my eyes Briggs will always have that weird accident scene hanging over his head but, He should be the vocal leader because he has that traditional grumpy Bears LB persona but he never really embraces the focus similar to the way Tommie Harris acts and Olin Kruetz. Harris for instance has basically went into clam mode because here locally he has not said much period and even the local Bears "All Access" shows know to avoid interviewing these guys. So most of their comments are made "Off the record".
  23. I have never agreed with the way the NFL has handed out fines going back to Wilbur Marshall's hit on Detroit QB Joe Ferguson and Doug Planks hit on TB TE Jimmy Giles. Since leading with the helmet and "The defensless receiver rule" are now in the rule book I guess Carter's fine is legit but IMHO they both arrived at the same time and that type of contact couldn't be avoided. No matter how stupid what Anderson did it was not worth 10k. This reigning commissioner is getting way out of hand with his punishments;especially the ones that were not penalized during games. I believe the game officials have an idea whether a guy was trying to intentially hurt a player or not and if they are going to go back and freeze frame these type of plays then they should do it on all game plays.
  24. Coming out of the draft Iwas not as high o0n him as others but he is a Bear now so I have to put him in the hope chest. WTBS it follows the recent patterrn for Bears early draft picks of being redshirts. Daniel Manning and Devin Hester are the last two to break through this pattern

I may seem crazy but I thought in the last game Hily was pretty verbal especially when he had to call the timeout when it was obvious the defense was confused. His mild-mannered deme4anor disappeared during that moment and lead me to believe that he was not faking it for the cameras.
