Probably. Game 1 is at home if we win the division anyway but you’re right about the games after that.

Wright has had great moments and some blown coverages too. On balance he’s been good enough to make the list here though. OZ has been more bad than good IMO and we can do better than him next year.

This is amazing for year one under BJ. That said I hope we make the best of it. One and done after this season would leave a bad taste in our mouths but might be OK for future development. We have a chance to be really healthy by that first playoff game and it might be interesting to see how well this team can play at close to 100%. Out pass rush is still dogshit so that will likely be our achilles heel when we go up against the best teams. If the Packers lose on Saturday our division championship is locked in. It would be interesting to see if Ben plays at least part of the SF game with backups. The only thing that matters now is being the best team we can be in “Week 18” no matter who our opponent is. There’s an outside chance we could get the #1 seed but I don’t expect that. Any thoughts?

Week 11 Official Game Thread - CHI @ MIN, Nov 16th, 12PM CST, FOX, CHI +2.5

I wish people could just move on from the stupid shit they’ve said in the past and just admit it was stupid. Hell I’ve said sooo many stupid things in the heat of an argument about this team. It happens. Been pouring my heart and soul into loving them for more than 50 years. Anyone who doesn’t see Caleb’s massive potential is being willfully ignorant. -

I agree 100%. As good as 6-3 feels and the fact that Caleb has been the catalyst, we’ve beaten some lousy teams. With the way the D and ST are playing it wouldn’t surprise me if we go 0-4 over the next four weeks. If we go 2-2 over those games the playoffs are within reach. -

This is a costly move. It may pan out but isn’t the D tackle they gave up their best one? Cap nightmare and an injury prone player…. I hope this blows up and wrecks them for years to come.

I like the kid. Glad he's a Bear for a few more years!

Well put. Thanks.

I had a moron friend over last night who said "What was that!" when he grounded that ball. And my comment was, that was maturity and good coaching. He did exactly what he should've done in that situation. Given how well Bagent has played, is Case Keenum going to make the team? Also, I need to know from the cap gurus here, how much goes back into the coffers when and if they cut him? I understand he'd there to be a mentor but I want the two best QB's on the active roster every Sunday and the third on as the emergency guy. I'm not sure Case is the second best QB on this team and I'm also not sure if he'll want to be inactive.

I was concerned that Caleb not playing in week one was a sign that he was behind schedule. I saw no evidence of that yesterday. The D was solid but special teams wasn’t. All three phases need to be there to maximize wins.

Preseason Week 2 Game Thread - Bills at Bears, Fox, SUN, 8-17, 7pm Central

Welp, I’m jacked! -
I want to be realistic, but I’m still optimistic that there’s a lot of W’s on this schedule. I see a potentially slow start, but once things start to gel, the team will sneak up on some people and ultimately prove out what we all hope we’ve seen in the off-season. I think this is a playoff team.
-
They have the Bears at 21 so still bottom third. I hope we surprise a lot of people this year.
-
Nothing final. Between him and Chubb who would you prefer? I doubt either will break the bank. Not sure we need either but depth at the position will keep everyone fresher throughout the season.
-
I agree. Still can't approve of using our 4th round pick the way we did, though.

Caleb texted Loveland this just after the pick: “Congrats, I'm excited to get you here, I'm going to be tough on you, coach Johnson's going to be tough on you, but [you're a] heck of a player, excited to get things rolling," Loveland said. "Just let me know if you need anything, I'm here, just excited to get you here and meet face-to-face and get the ball rolling.'" I like the leadership!
