The data is skewed a bit by the fact that teams drafting in the top ten are the worst in the league.
By the way, despite that, there are still some great names on your list.
Dumb call by Campbell, plain and simple. He’s a meathead but usually it works for him so more power to him. Him team plays hard and has progressed. The momentum swung hugely when they failed on the first go for it attempt. He could have taken that three and gone back up by 14 or 17. Instead he gave them the short field and it was a close game only minutes later.
That is very well said. I haven’t ever put my finger on just this well but you nailed it. He’s fun to watch play (and frustrating at times) and just a good dude. I’d be 100% behind sticking with him if he’d ever shown the ability to drive the team for a comeback win. He’s come close but hasn’t done it to my recollection.
It’ll be a slap on the wrist from the NFL if anything happens at all. They’re sending the right signals but at the end of the day, is the NFL going to suspend a coach for taking prospects out for hamburgers or sign stealing? It didn’t happen in the NFL so he’d win in court anyway. No jurisdiction so to speak.
Harbaugh is just too fricken weird for my taste with the Bears. I do hope he’s successful but still glad they didn’t pursue him.
I’m a big Wolverines fan in addition to being an even bigger Bears fan. No way I wanted Harbaugh here. I’ll leave it at that. The OP in this thread was way over top. This front office is a clown show? I strongly disagree.
Reminds me of an old joke. “I stuck up for you! He said you weren’t fit to sleep with the pigs and I said you were!”
As stated, the word defend in this case can mean many different things.
Excellent! Now my restless heart can sleep well tonight. I think this is an outstanding hire. Almost wish they could’ve done it last year (know that wasn’t possible) so Fields had a full season to work in a real offense.
If Fields is judged as flawed you’re 100% correct. I believe some teams will feel the Bears just did him no favors and they’ll be intrigued by how exciting he is. Kiper believes the Bears can get a second round pick for him or better so dropping back 6 picks in the first round has to be close to equivalent to that. NE would get two players in this scenario, a QB and a stud at 9. Instead of getting the third best rookie QB in the draft. They pick 3rd not 2nd. It might be doable.
What about the Bears trade Fields to NE and flip their first for our second first. Then the Bears have two of the top three picks and can grab MHJ and the QB they love the best.
I haven’t seen anything that says this is a done deal yet so let’s be cautious. I remember some guy named McGinnis we thought we had hired and the Bears screwed that up. So……. Let’s be certain before we get too excited.
Packers will be forced to extend Love and he isn’t Rodgers or Favre quality. They’re going to base it on a good, not great, back end of a season where they were 1 game over 500 and snuck into the playoffs. Good luck with that!
Tampa winning in a blowout last night only makes me more pissed about the Bears this season. From start to finish they did a much better job of turning things around than the Bears.
