If he can stay healthy I think he's a HR. We'll have to see on that. He seems to get injured a lot. Not something you can typically project as a GM, however.

I think most plays Trestman has in the offense have checkdowns as well as deeper routes. I'd say Cutler may be making the call on going with the dinks himself. Only Tresty and Cutty know for sure.

Weather... Sports radio guys are mostly idiots.

Good summary. Not sure I'll think we've improved much until I see something this Thursday against a "good" team. But you're right, we don't need to apologize for winning. I still want to see Cutler get his head out of his ass on the first play from scrimmage, not wait until well into the game. I assumed we were going to lose the way we were playing the first half. I'm happy with the comeback and performance in the third quarter. But damn it, you can't expect to do that against good teams. Good to see the Lyin's lose yesterday. Wish the Packers would've done the same. And the Cowboys. Those would've helped our chances. Key is to get back to 500 on Thanksgiving and then continue to see improvement. If this team finishes strong, it saves Trestman's job for another year. Some will say that's a bad thing and I'm not sure I'd disagree. But winning is better than losing, regardless. In case I don't get to say it later in the week, Happy Thanksgiving to all my Bears brothers here!

You know things are going really poorly when people are lining up to say they suck at their jobs. Briggs isn't a guy who should be in the position of calling a D's signals. He's not that guy. Urlacher could handle it. And with all the changes of personnel, the entire D being different, etc. This shit is going to happen. It's just going to happen more frequently because Brigg's has a grapefruit for a brain.

He's back because Wilson is back. This is a good thing IMO. All the conjecture about replacing Cutler is premature at this point. He's a dick and probably not capable of stepping it up to the next level under any coach, but he's our asshole for the time being. I'd like to see Claussen get some reps when we're down by 50 but whatever. Cutler didn't let Rodgers throw for a zillion yards and TD's last weekend. The whole damn team is a cluster...

If we were going to make a change I'd like to give Gruden another chance at coaching in the NFL. Not sure he's interested...

I don't think the article is particularly well written. Some contributors here could do better and have. But frankly everything he said is correct. The problem is the issues with this team are so deeply imbedded now it could be years before we see any major improvement. I really don't see the Bears eating big contracts and cutting people loose. I don't see this organization cutting the head coach after only two seasons. Not just because of money but because it isn't "nice" and they want to be seen as nice guys. But they're finishing last being nice guys. We need a real bastard to run this team, it appears.

Browns are in first place.

I think I already said this in a thread two weeks ago but I've never seen a team like this. You could always count on defense and our running game showing up. Under Lovie our ST's was always solid as well. If our #1 RB got hurt, we suffered in the running game... But this team is healthy on O. And this team is fielding the guys they intended to field, for the most part, on D. Trestman should resign. Tucker and DeCamillis should be fired. Promote from within for interim coaches and then clean house in the off season. Emery... Hell, I'd fire him too after this mess. Problem is, the ownership of this team will just pick worse replacements. They need to sell the team. If the city can play any role in that, via contracts at the stadium or whatever, Rahm needs to step up the pressure! I was fed up after the Pats game. Imagine how I feel now losing to the Packers like this. I assumed we'd lose by 21 and that was going to be BAD ENOUGH. Guys, we could've lost last night by 70. Easily. This is the worst bunch of coaches and player talent I've ever seen in 50 gad damn years.

Yep, your glass is obviously half full. LOL

Eat shit.

Well played.

God damn, they suck at everything. I'll bet if given the chance they'd start an internet war against the wrong ISP, torture people's pages, freak up a DDOS attack so badly that the city of New Orleans would be struggling to login... Etc. etc. etc. Fire everyone. The Halas clan should sell the damn team so we can get someone at the top running things that understands how this is done. It wasn't until Dollar Bill died that the Blackhawks stepped it up under Rocky. Maybe we need Virginia to kick the bucket before this gets better? Oh, and GO BLUE!!!! Get your veto pen ready buddy, you're going to need it for two years! PS. If this thread is deleted and Terra's isn't, I'm outta here for good.

Since when are political statements allowed on this site directly in the title of threads? I've seen entire threads closed over more minor comments within the threads. Terra, you're an spatula.

Amen on that. This shouldn't be some sort of revelation at this point.

I think he just needs to lose his shit and punch a locker or two.

I, unfortunately, was playing racquetball (anyone remember that?) during that game and only caught a few minutes of it. I F'in hate GB too.

Not sure if "most" is even correct. Certainly should get his share as the leader of the offense. Whatever, as I said in another thread, this just plain blows. We had the right to expect better this season.

I've lost it...we really are ran by a bunch of clowns

I'm not really sour on Emery yet. Think his first draft was darn close to a bust though. One player doesn't do it for me. But his FA picks have made sense even if they didn't all pan out. My biggest reservations at this point are on Trestman. And since Emery hired him, we'll have to see what happens. They're married as far as I'm concerned. -
Thanks Mr. Optimism! Sadly I can't say I disagree much.

Dude will always have my admiration for that one play. Always...

I'll be happy if they break some of Rodger's bones. Don't care which ones.

I love the Bears. Been a fan for most of my 50 years on this planet. Seen it all, basically. Went through worse periods than this for sure. Times when we only had one player worth watching. And I will say I've never seen an offense on the Bears like this one. Capable of great things. But I'm also incredibly disappointed. I never thought this team was a sure thing. I never thought they were destined for the Superbowl. But to have a team that consistently disappoints, losing to teams they should beat, getting blown out in games they should be competitive in; blowing big leads... it gets to you. The one thing you could count on with Lovie, Ditka and maybe even Wanny... They were going to slow the game down to a pace where it might be boring as hell to watch but they'd find a way to stay in it. Sure, they all made mistakes but Trestman seems not to be ready for this job. It's a short time to judge him on but I'm damn close to saying he's a bust. Emery maybe should've hired him as OC, I just don't see him having the leadership skills to be "THE GUY". I hope I'm proven wrong. Cutler isn't the only reason this team sucks. He's a tool. I dislike him. I'm starting to think some on the team may feel the same way. Depends on who you want to believe, I suppose. Anyway, I'm not going to get depressed about this. Won't let a football team make or break my day on Sunday anymore. There were times when I was a younger man a Bears loss would bum me out all damn week. I've got bigger and better things to keep busy... But this sucks. This really sucks.

Being blown out AND he knew that exact move had already injured the stupid Lion! Fool me once...
