You're forgetting Alex Brown. He's definitely a recent "success story" from Florida.

LOL! Do you pretend to be the Bears GM in the dark corners of your lonely apartment? Dude, I'm just giving you shit. I certainly don't hate you. You're just a football geek with a huge ego. No biggie. As to JA and others, I'll just point to results. His efforts put a team in the Superbowl reasonably quickly. You can point to failures and say he built on what was already there but so did the fatman running the Bulls. You have to take the good with the bad with any of these guys and I'm just more willing to give them the benefit of the doubt than you are. I'm not as cock-sure of myself like you are when it comes to football. I'm sure that dark corner of your apartment is your favorite place. Peace dude.

That is odd. And it's their expert's rankings per the little ? at the top of the column.

Yeah, and as one of the "idiots" who dare side with some of the decisions management has made, I've always said it was fair to criticize them but that most of the time Jason's just an egomaniac doofus without a clue and I'd side with Jerry or Emery 9 times out of ten over anything that ass-clown had to say.

Find one post here from anyone suggesting Lovie intelligently used Wolfe. Just one.
-
If Garza is outplayed he'll deserve to get dumped.
-
There's no question JA ignored the OL for basically his entire tenure here. Hell, that's something Jason and I agree on so it must be an absolute truth. And that glaring weakness on the team was addressed by Emery at his first opportunity, rather well, I think we all agree. It may be too early to judge one vs. the other on drafts but there are good early signs.

Bears trade Briggs for Raiders' 2nd and 4th round picks!

And lots of teams use this approach. Given his earning $8 mil for sitting on his ass, he owed it to the Bears to come back to at least see what they could do. Screw him.

That's why I always try to say things like "Based on what we've observed" or something similar to that. I think you're right. They SHOULD know a lot about the knee, right? But I'm not all-knowing like Jason so I don't want to say for sure. I do know that Trestman had a year to work with Hester and he apparently learned quickly that the dude is too stupid to play WR. Not sure what the deal was with Melton but he didn't live up to his end of the bargain by giving the Bears a chance to match. End of story.
-
The more he whines the happier I am they didn't. Frankly nobody really knows. I'm certain it wasn't any one thing. I recall hearing from some source he wanted a two year deal. I know they were pretty far apart on money. He had a history of holding the Bears feet to the fire. He was the centerpiece of Lovie's D. He wasn't "fan friendly" and didn't represent the team well off the field. We was getting old in NFL terms and he'd been injured a few times in recent years. Maybe losing a step. So, I think they made a determination that they had a number in mind and if that offer was rejected they were going to move on. They definitely didn't want to get into a press war with one of their "stars" like the whole Favre fiasco. But no matter what, after it all went down, the Bears have been the ones with class. They may have driven him into retirement (although he was free to sign elsewhere and nobody wanted him) but when asked repeatedly about the reasons for it happening, Emery has been very diplomatic. Urlacher hasn't. And Urlacher has to most to lose from his scorched earth approach. He better wise up fast.
-
The jury is still out as far as I'm concerned. But you're right that no GM is going to be perfect and dealing with aging stars is incredibly difficult. Just think back a few years ago and how the Packers handled Favre. It's tough.
-
Ha. It's all in good fun.
-
Dude, you've been pouting about this or that since you joined this board! You didn't like Jerry, now you don't like Emery. Bears business tactics make you cry. I get it. Now STFU.
-
LOL! Hey Emery, Jason says these guys are still good so you should negotiate. Jason who? Oh yeah, he's just some internet simpleton. Carry on.
-
I agree with your post. Just want to point out that Ditka did it with humor. When you have a little style it goes a long way.

http://www.csnchicago.com/bears/how-bears-...n-away-rest-nfl Literally glowing about how professional and trustworthy the Bears organization is. That's going to make Urlacher mad and cause Jason to have a sad little pout.
-
Get this through your thick skull... The Bears didn't want Hester back so using him as an example in comparison to Urlacher doesn't make sense. Apples and oranges. The Bears wanted Urlacher back but at a specific price. More than any other team in the NFL was willing to offer, in fact. But when his agent declined they knew from past experience that it was going to play out in the press and they'd ultimately lose or take a bath in a PR nightmare. They moved on quickly and it went over pretty well despite Urlacher's continued bitching. So what the Bears have done is handle things like professionals, not like Jason Dipshit. And it's up to Urlacher as to whether he wants to continue this feeble crybaby bullshit. It might make him a little money short term but he'll lose in the long run. I've already provided the ultimate example. The last thing Brian ought to be doing is taking advice from you, Jason. You're a ferkin' moron.
-
After their "leader" Urlacher set the tone it wouldn't surprise me if all aging former stars bitch like old ladies as they leave the city. Just another reason he had to go. His leadership was toxic to anyone outside his little circle. Oh, and Peanut is telling a different story so I guess he's different than your two examples. Both your examples, by the way, had lost tons of value just before being shown the door, much like #54.
-
Michael Jordan made a point of spitting on the Bulls on his way out of town. He was a much bigger star on a significantly less important franchise in Chicago. To this day he's not repaired that damage. Brian better start soon.
-
Problem is history shows he doesn't trade down for his reaches. He could likely get "his guy" and get something else to sweeten the pot. Long being the only exception to this as he'd have been gone before any later pick we may have gotten. This seems to be Emery's major "flaw".
-
He's a stupid SOB but a talent. Don't think we need him here given our WRs.
-
Which is why you acting like you know exactly what the Bears did in either case has made you look like a shithead all along. Glad you're finally coming around. Just because Url bitches like a scorned woman doesn't mean we're getting the truth out of him. And the FACT that literally nobody signed him is all anyone should need to know before they understood the Bears were in the right, although maybe not very nice. Hester still has value but he's one dimensional so not a fit for Trestman. End of story.

I agree but Allen is no spring chicken and we still have question marks about the defensive coaches overall. Not trying to rain on the parade but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here guys. We have to see how well these guys play together, scheme, etc. I'm happier than I was and Peppers had to go because of his contract but let's chill a bit. There's a lot of time to print Superbowl tickets after we see this D Line play a few snaps together.
