  1. I was actually looking to see if there was video of White and our last year's #1 Fuller matched up. Alas, no luck. Probably because White didn't get to play a lot at D1.
  2. Not sure how Gregory will pan out with the NFL. He seems to not be able to stay away from the MJ. And with the NFL and their restrictive nature on it I can see him eventually spending more time suspended than playing in the long run. I'm with Jason that the better pick would probably be Collins. I think to get a young and effective player in this position is more important for the long term health of the team. Think Mike Brown important. With the help of vets like Rolle guiding him, I suspect he'll be an eventual star for the Bears.
  3. That sucks. Would've been cool to have him on the team. Was watching the presser from Pace about the White pick. It's quite apparent to me that Pace has his head on straight. He knows all he needs to know not only about White but how he's going to compliment the team. He (Pace) has a great energy that I think could prove infectious. He and Fox together make a great duo. Where I felt the 'sleaze' effect from Emery (similar to a used car dealer) I feel more confident with Pace. My prediction is he'll get a QB round 2 or 3. I hope at this point Collins is there at round 2.
  4. Agreed. Must be a reason he's not been picked yet.
  5. Wow, look at you and me agreeing to something. Must be something wrong with this pick.
  6. White is a decent pick. He's definitely BPA just like what Pace said he'd do. Now if they can find a QB that can throw to him and not the guy covering him, the Bears will be golden.
  7. I'm one who is good with not getting Williams. Glad to see it. Too much for a lineman... Collins is still available.
  8. I'm ok with this. Sounds like there is some serious wheeling and dealing going on. If it's meant to be, it'll happen. Thankfully Lovie came through and took Winston off the board.
  9. Yes thank you for clarifying. I was almost going to label you insane.
  10. Although I'm not a huge fan of Maiotta's I'm lesser of Cutler's, especially the amount of money he costs...and he just turned 32...and he hasn't proven anything worthy of his contract....despite all the OC's/Coaches he's played for...and all the catering he's had thus far....yadda yadda The porous OL you always talk about is something, in your opinion, that never goes away. But just two years ago, when they managed to stay healthy, they didn't do all that bad. I'd rather not re-tread that path. Realistically though, in a 1st round such as this year's, can you make more difference in drafting a top notch OLman or a blue chip prospect like Mariotta? While getting rid of a money laden "non-franchise QB" in Cutler? But before I commit myself to this argument, I would contend that there are other lesser-known QB's in the draft (Hundley, Petty, Grayson) who could be just as intriguing to replace Cutler. I'm not sure the argument could be made there are numerous holes in the defense to fill with all the prospective FA's that were signed and not a few of them possibly sticking. Like the OL, I don't see one player in the draft making that much an impact. Unless its at Safety where I think Collins could be a huge long term difference maker. I wouldn't deem it "insane" an idea, just not probable...unfortunately.
  11. Well considering there is an alleged quote from Lovie about how Cutler will be a great QB for the team, and it apparently happened "Thursday night", I'd tend to think it wasn't a substantiated rumor. More a speculative rumor. Or a fantasy type rumor as another poster commented. Still, pieces to the story could play out...theoretically.
  12. Speaking of interesting trade rumors. http://tampa.suntimes.com/tpa-sports/tampa...ga-trade-bears/
  13. I did see what you did there, very clever. You can almost gurantee that somehow, someway NE will be involved in the trading from the outset (they always are). And before you know it they'll have five picks in the first two rounds. Another strong and possible contender this year is Philadelphia. I suspect Chip is up to something with the stockpiling of talent. I don't see him really needing or wanting to keep Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and Tebow all on the roster. I especially see him trying to dangle Bradford to someone. Same with the RB situation. He's got both Matthews and Murray now. Both are at some point going to cost a ton of money. Is he angling to get Mariotta? We'll soon know.
  14. The very fact that mocks change literally every week if not day proves NOONE has a fix on how this will play out. Heck most GMs (save TB) are only really guessing on who they'll pick when their turn comes. It might be noted that most mocks don't figure in any draft day trades and the impact that could have. One of those throws everything out of whack. All we can do is spectate.
  15. It'll be an Alabama alum. Either Collins or Cooper. Although when it's all said and done, I hope Shaq Thompson figures in the end. One thing I do know is the draft will be just about done this time tomorrow....thank gosh!
  16. In case you think that because the criminal process played itself out and proved "no guilt" does not mean the person was not guilty. Take OJs murder case against Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman as an example. Although not proven guilty in his criminal trial he (OJ) was found liable in the civil trial that followed afterward. The results of a civil trial can be just as damming.
  17. Still the answer is without a doubt: NO. I would just as soon take 10 Cutlers and Cade McCown as their backup before one Winston.
  18. Scary thing is where he is at is literally the middle of the state. Which has the most extreme weather. 90-100 sometimes in the summer and -30 to -40 in the winter, or worse.
  19. Not many. But yes there are a few. Seems more Hawks and Puckers than anything. And a fair # of Vikings too. Especially at work.
  20. Thanks Lemon. Proud to be a 'brother Bear' with you.
  21. Not me. He's about 400 miles north of me. And has me beat with memorabilia.
  22. At the risk of Stinger chiming in I'll say do you recall where we were the last time our team went 10-6? And how now it could be considered an improvement? Oddly enough, Fox was dismissed from Denver after going 12-4 and being one year removed from a SB appearance. Anyhow, that being said yes Id have to agree with O'Hara. I saw the same article. He's right that there is still too much talent on the offense to not be good...despite Cutler still playing. And with some of the upgrades on defense and the draft yet to come I can't see how the defense could be any worse. But when it's all said and done I think what really is going to make a difference this year is the GM and especially the coaching staff. With Fox, Fangio and Gase running the show I have much more faith than I have the last few years.
  23. Just read a pretty cool article about him in SI. Have we talked about him? VERY a interested. http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2015/0...rospects/33463/
  24. I'd agree somewhat especially with all these 1 year signings. Emery did virtually the same thing for a year or two yet Pace is getting better press out of it. But one of the BIG differences is that John Fox not only was hired by him he has him there helping with talent evaluation. And he and Fox have built a pretty reputable coaching staff. So far the signings make sense and the draft will underscore how successful he (Pace) is. I'm thinking positively at the moment.
