At 6-3 202lbs and running a 4.4-4.5 we need him I think What do you think Three-year starter who established himself as one of the finest receivers in UNM and Mountain West Conference history...earned first team all-MWC honors as a junior and senior to become one of just three Lobo WRs to earn first team all-conference honors twice in a career, joining Terance Mathis (1986-87, `89 WAC) and Preston Dennard (1974, `76 WAC)...a complete wide receiver who was smart, polished, ran great routes and became a very sure-handed pass catcher...excellent "football" speed, running as well in pads as he did without...a tough, aggressive player who was not afraid to go across the middle and catch the ball in traffic...also an outstanding downfield blocker...became a key member of the UNM offense after breaking into the WR rotation as a true freshman in 2004...finished his career with a reception in 37 consecutive games, which ranked 2nd all-time at UNM...had a catch in 42 of his 45 career games (35 starts)...3rd all-time at UNM with 182 career receptions (7th MWC)...5th in Lobo history with 2,196 yards (12.0/catch) and tied for 9th with 12 career TD catches...8 career 100-yard receiving games...had 37 plays of 20+ yards in his career (35 receiving, 2 rushing)...also a strong team leader who was voted 2007 offensive team captain, along with fellow WR Marcus Smith

LOL. IMHO he needs to be so he can start earning all that money we paid him. He had a good game today.

As long as we have Turner and Babich running the O and the D we will be hurting. It seem that neither can make half time adjustments or change the scheme on the fly. On offense we run the same old plays no matter what the down and distance is. No thought of using all the weapons you have i.e...Olsen Davis and Clark at TE. When was the last time you saw the 3 TE set with Davis and Olsen at receiving TE? Jones and Forte in the backfield together? Hester is the semi-wildcat? On defense we need to start someone that really wants to play and stop going through the motions. We need cover corners and not corners covered in money.Tillman and Vasher are good but just not good at covering WR one on one, by the scheme we use. We stop the run but the pass kills us why....the Dline is doing almost nothing. The problem with them is that they are too light and are geting pushed around by hevier Oline men. We are not quick off the ball anymore

Hey yes i did, sorry bout that I have been kinda busy over here. But i played one and it didn't play so i borrowed a friend dvd player and it worked just fine. Thanks again

The problem isn't Urlacher its the defense that we are running. With him up on the line he is getting blocked more often than not. True we are stopping the run but with #54 dropping back into the deep zones it makes QB throw the ball elsewhere. Now when they (our LB) are up in the line...the slant plays that they used to take away are getting big gains now. I hate to see what happens if we do this against the Packers a team that lives off these kinds of patterns.

IMHO we are a product of our own coaches! Head coach= good person but soft as a coach. DC,OC and some position coaches are the same. If you look at our games...how many times do you see Hester getting chewed out for a stupid play. Not just Hester but the whole team! I have watch a few games with the help of some of this very supportive board members and have seen no fire, no desire nothing. Well not everyone of the Bears are soft, Briggs, Forte, Payne to name a few and others are doing their jobs. But you have to wonder where is Brown with the fire and hits, Urlacher is blocked all the time, Harris is well just holding the line, our corners Tillman & Vasher seam like they can't cover the bed with a blanket. So what gives? What makes me sick is that the Bears have lost four game by a total of 15 points! When was the last time that has happened? And in three out of the four we were in position to win and should have won.We need to put some gunpowder in the Bears and coaches meals to bring out the aggression!!

You also have to say that Rex was throwing the ball away alot because our WR were not open and he was trying not to force anything ....he did that well. But I blame Turner for his play calling. You know Rex is great with the play action roll out to the TE, but you never used that play. WHY???? We have slow WR and that that. We donn't run Hester deep to make the corners move back, we have slow Booker running short routes, you don't use Clark Olsen across the middle or down the seam at all what do you expect form Grossman since his timing was off. What he should have done was use Forte,Jones and Wolfe out of the backfeild more. Use the Te in the middle and on out. Those are the plays that will give us the control of the game to bust Hester deep once in a while.

IMHO we have two overpaid corners doing nothing in the passing game. Sure they can get interceptions on tips and ball throw right at them but this bail and run scheme they play is simple not good. I have watched other corner like the Giants Webster and the Packers Woodson play right at the line on the WR and bump and turn and run with them. This causes two things, ! for the timing to be off on quick routes and 2 for the QB to hold the ball longer allowing the pass rush to get there to the QB. I played saftey/corner in high school and college and never saw this thing the Bears are teaching and we played the cover two also, with two deep safties. This makes me wonder if our corners can cover man to man at all....as with the Titians game both Vasher and Tillman got beat again and again. They only time they made plays was when the QB held the ball longer allowing them to make up ground and be in position for the int and they each both dropped one last game.

IMHO the Bears are making some stupid cuts and pick-up. Bradley did play ST last year, but you have to wonder who is making these calls and what are they thinking. Ok you bring in Llyod(who had problems with SF and the skins) and Booker(who is slower than Bradley) to be the guys. But you think this kid has a problem....I would too if I knew that I can out play the other two and you got me sitting on the bench. Two games stick out in my mind Detroit when he got hurt and the Jets game were he took it to the house on s simple out 50 something yards like Booker did. But giving the chance Bradley could do it more often than Booker. But what has Booker really done for us this year??? And Bradley is doing great...because they gave him a chance. My team would have been Bradley at one WR and Berrian at the other with DavisHester/ at the slot.

Well it seems that they conflict , but what I mean is that they need to play more down and distance. Anytime a team has 3rd and 7 or more they will usually try to pass to get the yards, but if they LB'S are up at the line stopping the run then the short slant routes are going to be open. Also with them being so close they get blocked out of the play too much as having lanes to run to the ball. But want I see not happening as before is the gang tackling. Not everyone is running to the ball and when they do they are not coming under control to make a tackle so one move by the back and they have missed the tackle......we need to do a better job at this.

The Titians are a good football teams this year, but they can be beaten. We have to get them out of there mind set of being 8-0. We have to first stop their running game, which we can do sinse we have been good against the run all year. But the main key this game is to move the LB'S back from the line and let them play normal. This will take away some of those short passing lanes that are killing us. Also with the WR the Titians have we need to play more bump and run and two deep double the outside WR. This takes away timing and free passing lanes. The second thing is the Dline needs to rush Collins....he is no V. Young when it comes to running. Now the offense needs to keep doing what it has been and we will be fine. The special teams need to learn how to block for Hester and Hester needs to just go North and South more to get away from the first wave and maybe he'll break one. But we need to keep the Titans out of feild goal range if it comes down to it, they kicker has a strong leg and 50+ yards are not a problem for him.

He will be able to play this Sunday against the Titians. Bears | Lloyd practices in full Wednesday Wed, 5 Nov 2008 14:23:54 -0800 Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears WR Brandon Lloyd (knee) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Rex is going to have a great game next week because he will be looking to prove guys wrong that sat him on the becnh...what what I tell you. He will be on a mission....like running out of the pocket, stepping up in the pocket and getting rid of the ball if they blitz. He is going to have a two TD day with 230 yrds.
-
Rex has played well after being on the becch for awhile, like last year when Gresie got hurt and the year before when he was hurt and came back. The main thing for him to do is get his timing down. I think that we will have Llyod back this week as well. We need a speedster at wide out...like Hester. Maybe the paasses this week deep will go to him so we can hit the big one deep. Our TE will be open and they are the favorite target of Rex alond with Davis. Like it was said before...the Titians don't do much in the air because they try to use the running game with white and Johnson but we will shut that down. It should be a good game

I thought that it was Clark the other TE

Ha ha ha you guys have fun! I'll be watching from my computer no picture just words and a funny little ball moving back and forth! Gotta love the military!!!! All these high tech small bombs and satellites we have and we can't even see a Bears football game!

I agree with you on mostly everything. I stated early this year that the Bears would be 11-5 this year. IMHO we should be 7-0 right now and not 4-3, but with 3 losses by a total of 8 points and two of those either in the last seconds or overtime dang! We have things lined up for us right now we just need to get after teams earily and put them away. When they are behind(other teas) then you can go for the neck breaker. I agree with some of the post that we need to get a heavy rush on the QB as this will led to turnovers and points. But the rush is IMHO not really the problem. Its our secondary. If we play more press coverage and bump and run this will make the QB hold the ball longer waiting for someone to get open and allowing our Dline to get to the QB more often. But teams are throwing the underneath stuff because our LB'S are up in the line faking the blitz, so when the drop back they are not in their nomal drop or positon.

Bum thumb to sideline Hillenmeyer By Vaughn McClure | Tribune reporter 9:52 PM CDT, October 28, 2008 A source close to Hunter Hillenmeyer said there is "no chance" the linebacker will play against Detroit on Sunday after the linebacker underwent surgery on his right thumb last week. Hillenmeyer is expected to be out a few weeks, according to the source. Nick Roach is expected to replace Hillenmeyer as the starter at strong-side linebacker. Hillenmeyer did not practice Monday and declined to discuss his injury status. Coach Lovie Smith did not publicly rule out any player for Sunday's game. Hillenmeyer started the first seven games, recording 21 tackles and a sack. He registered a season-high nine tackles in the Bears' last game, a 48-41 victory over Minnesota. Related links 2008 Bears schedule, results Hillenmeyer's early-season struggles in coverage prompted the coaching staff to give Roach some reps during a Week 4 victory over Philadelphia. Roach has been a major contributor on special teams despite injuring his left shoulder against the Lions the first time the teams met.

That would be a good move for the Lions. They would get a vet with an arm that can move around and run but who is also a big guy and won't get sacked with a feather. I wanted him for the Bears backup spot.

Chicago Bears QB Kyle Orton's Great Game Against the Vikings Could Have Been Greater Posted Oct 21st 2008 11:47AM by Michael David Smith (author feed) Filed under: Bears Bears quarterback Kyle Orton had a fantastic game on Sunday against the Vikings, and he's looking nothing at all like the guy who started for the Bears in 2005. Orton completed 21 of 32 passes for 283 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions, for a passer rating of 114.5 on Sunday -- the sixth best passer rating in the league in Week 7. But he actually did that on a day when his receivers didn't do him any favors. Marty Booker dropped what should have been a 14-yard touchdown pass at the start of the second quarter. He also dropped what should have been a 24-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter. And Desmond Clark fumbled what should have been a 36-yard touchdown pass at the 1-yard line. So what would Orton's numbers have looked like if his receivers had held onto the ball on those three plays? He would have had two more completions, 39 more yards and three more touchdowns, meaning he would have gone 23 of 32 for 322 yards, with five touchdowns and no interceptions. That's a passer rating of 143.5, which would have been the best passer rating in the NFL on the week. So, yes, Orton had a great game on Sunday. Even greater than the numbers suggest.

We should have cut him a long time ago

IMHO we are losing games not because of the offense or because of the defense but because our OC Turner has no imagination for winning. Why do you keep giving the ball to McKie with 3rd and 1 or 4th and one. This is two games that he has done that. With the way teams are stacking the box you have to be a thinker, and I think(I KNOW) that the fake handoff bootleg pass will work to the TE every time. Not to mention that one of the TE we have sitting on the bench can catch and is 6'7' much taller than the 5'11' DB we face every week. Next we are making dumb calls....with 11 seconds you squib kick the ball? Kick it deep and either let them return it to the 30 with about 6 second left or down it and get it at the 20. Not letting them have the ball at the 43....one pass out of bounds and kick to win the game. But what I'm most upset about is this. I was a corner/saftey in high school & college and learned from a good coach about tecnique down and distance. Our corner use this stupid bail scheme...meaning as soon as the WR comes off the ball the break out and turn to run with him deep. So when the WR stops his pattern and cuts left or right we(our corners) are at least five to seven yards away from him. You need to back prddle until the WR makes a break and then you break with him and you are still next to him. It's easy to complete passes when you are giving them a free WR to throw to. Ryan did this all night. If you press the WR it throws off the timing of all pass plays and with 6 seconds left we should have done that to make Ryan hold the ball longer and allowed our rushers to get to him.
-
We need to bring Rideau up to the 53 man roster. Right now we hava Miller,Williams and Metcalf and the new CB taking up space. Sure they are going to be in the mix if one of the starters got hurt, but we need the taller WR that can catch too.
-
IMHO rhythm has nothing to do with it. It all starts with the Oline and the blocking scheme. We can't run block well at at and our OC calls for the same plays that are meant to go into the middle of the line. We don't run the toss sweeps, counter motion plays, and things of that nature. McKie is not a blocking FB.Look at Denver, they have a 1000 yard rusher every year with different backs because of the way they block not that they are laying out the Dline...they just get them turned the wrong way. Its hard to run a play when you are tripping over Beakman, Krutez and or Garza when they are getting pushed into the backfield
