Unless you were getting JPJ or Frazier, a rookie wouldn't be starting anyway. I have heard many football people say a rookie center and rookie QB is a disaster. It's very difficult to build a team and have 5 1st round picks on the OL in three drafts.
I get the concern he's building thru the draft for the most part and he wanted Rome and I read Poles was getting nervous and wanted to trade up to get him so we weren't getting a starter this year anyways.
I hope you are joking. Andre James, Lloyd Cushenberry, Aaron Brewer and Tyler Biadaz all could have been had in free agency.

To add, I am Poles' biggest fan. However, I have stopped him of his Lordship until the center position is proven solid. From here on out, it could be coronation or castration...

Those are not my numbers, that is what OTC came up with after reviewing previous season outcomes based on last year's records and the follow year's draft picks. It may not occur because of external factors (injuries, weather, COVID-24, etc), but those numbers are factual based on the information provided.
I know what you are relaying and it's a decent theory. However, I was a validation specialist for many years at a pharma company, so I'm very picky with stats. It is a cool stat.

If they signed two vets and don’t know what they have in them then we have bigger problems with this organization.
This has my inner demons cringing. Poles better have hit on the center and OG positions. Otherwise that fourth round weapon he drafted will be an anchor around his neck. Christian Mahogany and Beaux Limmer were there too at least add bodies to the equation. Like I said earlier, was he thinking he was the smartest guy in the room or was he that? The difference makes all the difference. Damn, I hope he's right, this time.

Josh Jacobs > Aaron Jones

That's cool in theory, but that's not how the math works. Bad teams improve at a greater rate because they are usually young, bitten with injuries and/or coach loses the team and is replaced. If those teams win three or four more, they still aren't good. Vegas builds billion dollar casino's and the have us at 8.5. I think we sneak in at nine wins.

The defense allowed 17 pts to the Packers in GB without Jaylon Johnson. The Bears had nothing to play for but pride while GB was still trying to get into the playoffs. In the 2 games before the Bears, GB scored 33 both games. In the two playoff games after, they scored 48 and 21, so I would say only allowed 17 without your All-Pro CB was a pretty good defensive effort.
I'm a little fuzzy, but didn't we give up around 450 yards and a Packer receiver dropped a sure TD? Please don't ever tell me they didn't have anything to play against the Packers. Also, Justin had everything to play for. If he was as beloved as stated, the D would've been inspired.

He looks goofy at first glance. But if you look deep into it, he is covering ground very quickly. He's so bendy, it looks like he's made of rubber. Once he hits the professional weight room and gets his hand fighting down, it's going to be like trying to block flowing water.

In looking at the last game, what makes anyone think we'll have a top five defense? I see top half and but not top five.

I can see us in the NFC title game and we have a lead, A good punt put them at the 3 yard line and they have to drive the length of the field with 50 seconds left. We win the game.
That would be great.

Bates is a lot stronger anchoring than Patrick. He just doesn’t always have the best footwork. As long as he gets it right early in the block he’s good. Can the coaches get him to avoid the missteps? Caleb and I both hope so.
The anchoring part is somewhat of a comfort, because Patrick was a Matador. I guess I need to hit the film instead of bitching about what I want.

I think we have two options at center now in Bates and Shelton.
The loser of that competition can compete at guard as well.We had Whitehair, Patrick, Kramer and Feeney last year. Do Bates and Shelton have any better pedigree?

Last year our two big weaknesses was the center position and Borom when he had to play, we fixed that. The one outlier is the health of Jenkins, I don't think Davis will be a problem at all.
I hope you are right. You are taking about a guy that couldn't start for his team and an inexperienced Ivy League tackle. Sounds like regurgitated Patrick BS to me...

If he gives the defense an advantage and helps put them into the top 5, it's a smart move and worth considering over the dline. Now for Flus to tighten his dbs so we get those quick 3 and outs and hand Caleb a short field.
It can absolutely help an opportunistic defense. What I have seen from Flus's D is bend but don't break. So, is it really a weapon when you give up the yards until the field shrinks at the 25 yard line? The 85 Bears would absolutely use that as a weapon, as they were always in attack mode. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see the big advantage. Did Poles finally play the smartest guy in the room role or is he simply the smartest guy in the room? The difference makes all the difference...

When I first heard it, I hated it. Thought about it for a few and hated it. Then thought, who am I? Still don't understand it, but who am I?
I've been crying for a stud center for three years and we've yet to get one. Maybe the backup we traded from the Bills will be the guy. All I know, is I better not see a turnstile up the middle this year.

I’m starting to get real excited about him. His character and work ethic is stellar and when you see a Fitzgerald comp thrown out - man if he can be 80 percent of Fitz they got a total stud.
He did an interview on ESPN 1000 yesterday. He has a career in media when he retires. Very charismatic.

We all need to remember, the draft is about next year...

Odunze has legit long speed. The route running. But compared to those two he’s really ahead in terms of being a redzone target. I think he’s better at catching jump balls than MHJ.
He reminds me of Cris Carter. Hopefully, he has the dog in him that Carter had.

I don’t want to give up that much. If IOL is the best depth position in the draft, and if Poles is the GM we think he is, then he should be able to find the right value in RD3 or make a smaller move up to RD2.
I get it, but I've been begging for it for two years and he's failed me. At this point, it's the only true black mark I give Poles. The middle must be solidified. Also, I cannot attest to being sober this evening, so my opinion may change by morning...

We are 24 picks into the draft and the two best IOL products are still available. I'm not sure how we do it, but future picks are definitely abundant. I want Barton or JPJ...

His release is right up there with the greatest I've ever seen. Polar opposite of Justin in every aspect. He's fiery and plays with a sense of urgency in which I had a problem with Justin.
