  1. I'm good with Dodds and Daboll. Both teams are built the same. Dodds is the top executive name out there for the last couple of years. They can bring the best of both orgs.
  2. I remember watching Allen, live at the combine, and I've never seen anything like him. He's big like Roethlisberger and has a cannon like nobody ever. He was throwing 70 yards off of his back foot. His release is trigger quick and he's super light on his feet. Yes, he was raw coming out, but his skill set is off the charts. The one thing he truly has over Fields is a dominating attitude. I've seen Fields play some great college football games, but I've never seen if put his team on his back and dominate through pure aggression. Josh Allen is a corn fed hoss. Hopefully Fields can develop a little of that mean streak.
  3. Eye test says he was as dominant as I have ever seen.
  4. I like him, as well, for the reasons you mentioned. The Steelers use their cap well and generally stay out of the free agent market. Homegrown has always been how I like to see a team built.
  5. This is what I read somewhere else. "Many have speculated that Khan has waited in Pittsburgh knowing that he is a strong candidate to replace Kevin Colbert, who is expected to retire soon. However, the Steelers also have a strong candidate in Brandon Hunt, and Khan has been taking interviews in recent years, possibly signaling that the Steelers will choose Hunt over Khan when the time comes."
  6. There is another guy they have in their org that they like as well. They aren't necessarily passing on Khan. They just haven't given him any indication of who they are going to pick.
  7. "I've seen better hands on a snake." ???
  8. It's different. Reid is grooming these guys for this from a direct hierarchy. Polian has the Bears interest in mind. If he does come in with a separate agenda, then we are potentially house. He's a pro and wouldn't do that IMO.
  9. Polian's creds are that he's the only executive to lead three franchises to the Superbowl. (Four with the Bills, one with the Panthers and two with three Colts. He's also won executive of the year, I think 6 times.(most ever) He chose Peyton Manning over Ryan Leaf when that was the big debate. He chose Edgerrin James over Ricky Williams. He chose Dwight Freeny when they said he was too small. (Translate that to modern day Aaron Donald) Marvin Harrison, Dallas Clark, Jeff Saturday, Reggie Wayne. It goes on and on and that's just the Colts. Don't get me started with the hall of famers from the Bills. We are also forgetting something. Out of all the losing franchises looking for GM/coaches, right now, we got the best guy available to help us and they don't. If Polian gets it right, George is a moot point. If he fails, that proves your point.
  10. For starters, Ernie Accorsi could not hold Bill Polian's jock on his best day. Polian is current and still in demand. It doesn't matter if he's 79 if he's still sharp as a tack. On the George matter, I've shared that exact concern of who is going to hold our GM accountable. George doesn't understand over trading and talent evaluations. George wants what ownership wants. (Wins and growing revenue) GM's are there to build for the now and the future. Polian will find the best he can to lead the team. Whether it works or not depends on George starting out of it and the development of Justin Fields.
  11. Living outside off Indy, I've seen a lot of Polian. He's a pros pro. He's still involved with the league with the competition committee. I think he's written three books on organizational development. Funny that's the amount of franchises he's taken to the Superbowl. If George listens to Polian, I have better faith in that decision than with anyone else on earth.
  12. Winning is a learned trait. Look at the Chargers, Colts and Browns. All loaded with talent, but find ways to blow it. Then, look at the Rams, Bills and Titans that are getting used to it. Finally, look at the Patriots, Packers, Chiefs, Ravens and Steelers that expect it. It's rare that a team comes out of nowhere to win the SB. That's why I don't expect much next year or the following until we learn how to win.
  13. 100% agree lucky. We simply replaced Ted with George. (like they weren't joined at the hip anyway) There were two positives I took from the presser: first is Bill Polian. I am a true fan of his for many reasons. He blows the Ernie Accorsi role as consultant away. Now, will George listen as he did when he followed Accorsi's recommendation of John Fox. Second, was his comment about staying out of football decisions. If he holds to his word, in Polian I trust.
  14. You like how he stuck that RB didn't you? ?
  15. I agree with all of this except the GM reporting to George. George stated that he evaluates a GM based on winning. While that's a good start, a football man would have snapped the towel on all of the trading up a long time ago. Pace has damaged this team next year as well, placing depth issues on the new GM. Also, George took zero ownership on the losing, Pace and Nagy.
  16. Not at all. The GM and Flores fractured their relationship over Tua. The GM is also good friends with the owner and that was the power.
  17. 9:34 AM. Thank you Jimmy Mac and Sweetness!

    Wentz

I live just outside of Indy and Colts fans are reeling. Frank Reich talked Ballard into Wentz big time, so if anyone gets ripped it's Reich. Carson was flat out dreadful with poor mechanics and inaccurate throws to wide open receivers. GMFB called him the Christopher Montilsanti of the NFL this morning. I looked at his contract and they can dump him for 15 mil dead.
  19. Both pics, same play. I think that was on Dalton. But, in agreeing with you, he should have not had a choice. Run the damn ball!
