  1. Warren has already stated that he will personally oversee the hiring of the next HC. Poles to assist.
  2. Let's play chicken and egg. The unverified reports say Poles wanted to fire Flus at the end of last season, but the McCaskey's said no. Now, the same reports are saying Warren made the call on Harbaugh. Since it's really Poles who should be hiring and firing coaches, do we blame the new scapegoat or the old villains for the latest scrambled egg? What we do know is that it took a meeting with George and Kevin before Ryan could do his job. What we also know is that Jim Harbaugh wanted to come here. The "they didn't want me" quote is seared into my brain as a reminder of the ineptitude of the McCaskey family. I'm thoroughly convinced they are in it for the money at the expense of winning. I'm not buying any more Bear wear and am considering other actions. At the end of today we have a GM that's powerless, a president with no plan for a stadium, yet is going to take his valuable time to find the next coach.(He was basketball guy). Lastly, we a 103 year old matriarch pulling the shorthairs of her moron son. I'm beginning to despise this franchise. What would y'all think about constructing a letter to the family from our site? We could use our membership numbers as something that may carry some weight. Or at the least, they may actually read it.

Totally get what you are saying. There are instances where Braxton holds up well to the bull rush. From tackle to guard there is a huge disparity in the percentage of times he would be susceptible. If he gets beat by a bull rush 40% of the time, he's out of the NFL, so let's say he's at 30%. At guard, it would be closer to 5%. Who knows, he could be tragically flawed with his set. Odds just don't tell it that way.

I played tackle, guard and center. Each is different, but guard was the easiest. He may or may not be able to do it, but he has size and mobility in his favor. The odds like his prospects...
  5. Something else. I watched some film of Thomas Brown the player. He ran around and through opponents with a fearless nature. I hope he coaches with that determination and toughness...
  6. Yes please. I could see him bringing in Robert Saleh to run the defense.

No. It's about being in a leverage position. It's not about him being weak. He's a big boy and handles it well when in a proper set. At OG, he'll always be in that position. Plus, they'll not have a run at him and the moves that I explained earlier.

There are opinions and then there are facts.

Not the same positional responsibilities. Guard is way easier to block on bull rush. IYKYK

This is the opposite of true. The anchor is everything and it's ten times easier from the guard position.

Yes. I even posted it on another thread. Pass sets are completely different for guards and OT. The hardest thing an OT does is to anchor after contact. Does the DE dip, rip, spin, swim or bullrush? When you remove the dip and spin with DT, it's just square up and anchor. That's why GM's draft OT's higher, because they usually can successfully transition to guard if they fail at OT. Draft a pure LOT highly. When he beats Braxton out, he can compete at OG to be a starter and swing tackle. Same Kiran.
  12. The coach sets the overall personality of the team, until player leaders emerge. That being said, coaches can kill teams by expecting personas that are against the nature of individuals. I remember Eberflus not wanting foul language on Hard Knocks. Are you thinking about playing football or the camera? I also remember Eberflus going the extra mile insisting his players not get into a fight during joint practices. In their world, not fighting back makes you a punk ass bitch.(Verbatim) I can't remember how many times I've heard accomplished coaches say that a good camp fight is a good thing. A recent example leads me to the Trevor Lawrence hit. If his OL doesn't come to defend him, what does that say? Damn the penalty. Don't F with my quarterback!
  13. No to Freeman, Kingsbury and Glenn. If Brown and Vrabel are the best candidates, I will be greatly disappointed. Vrabel has experience, but not an offensive mind. Brown will have to show alot quickly. Ben Johnson and Joe McDonald are hot. My personal favorite is Gruden.
  14. Y'all think Kerry Joseph will move to OC?
  15. Don't give up on that edge rusher so easily. All things being equal, we know we need LT and EDGE desperately. It's been said many times, that a QB's best friend is a pass rush. I would love to have a high first rounder to use on either. That being said, OL cannot be neglected anymore. Pedigree means something with OL success rates. Draft them high and often. Dudes get hurt. No more patch work journeymen. If I'm rebuilding the OL, I'm keeping Jones, Jenkins, Wright, Kiran, Shelton, Pryor and Bates. I would draft the best LT in the draft. Then, I would have Jones backup LT/LG. Jones wouldn't be as susceptible to the bull rush inside, due to being able to engage quicker. Jenkins stays put. Shelton/Bates at center unless we sign or draft a stud. Draft a bastard to play guard! Wright stays put, with Kiran at backup to RT/RG. A great scenario would be for Kiran to be a stud and have him bump Wright inside. That would leave the stud OG to fight it out with Jenkins. Fun times...
  16. I was saying the same for the last couple of weeks. To rationalize, maybe Brown has the guy under him that he trusts enough to collaborate with. Maybe that was even part of the selection process with Poles. Look at me thinking we may be competent...🤪
  17. They let him have a conference call this morning, so he's probably staying. The first three questions were about whether he'd keep his job, which was brutal. He deflected all them with on to SF...
  18. If they fire him tomorrow, we will win our next game. Book it!
  19. Virginia is the only one with balls, so it'll have to come from her.
  20. I've been simmering on this the last two weeks and haven't found the time. Year one of Poles was, hold on and take the beating and I loved it. Year two of Poles was trade the pick, get Edmonds and Edwards for the price of Roquan. And I loved it until he didn't improve the OL like he said he would. Then trades for Sweat and he became Lord Poles. Year three and my full expectation was drafting our future face of the franchise, get another pass rusher and fix the OL. That's a yes, no and hell no. Instead, he trades a 4th rounder for an injury prone reciever with a 24 million contract, in the best receiver class in years. Then, drafts Odunze instead of OL, or Verse. He could have traded that pick and possibly gotten OL, DL and a receiver. Everett and Swift were both unnecessary signings. Drafting Tory Taylor in the 4th is now a slap on his own face. Poles failure has enhanced Flus' chance of failure this year. Poles has two outta three good years, but his arrogance has really hurt us and Caleb's growth. If Flus goes, Poles needs to go as well. Coaches and GM's should be a package deal when together multiple years. How many times have seen a lame duck GM hire our next coach. Either Poles goes or gets extended. No status quo. I hate to say it because I idolized Poles for the work he was doing. He simply had three years to fix the trenches and it's not close enough for me to endorse him. We lack a dominant pass rusher, a dominant 3T, a LT, an OG and a center. It get gets bigger if Brisker has to retire, because Byard has lost two steps. We also didn't have effective speed at the WR position, as we are nothing but possession types. The roster should be close, but it is not...
  21. I thought 8 or 9 wins. I'm also on record saying Justin and another bounty of picks would have netted is 10+. I'm still happy about the Caleb route, because he can take us somewhere Justin never would.
