Confused? Am I stupid
I completely hate this line of thought and I usually agree with you. We should draft an OT high in this draft regardless of any money or performance argument. I don't care if the new OT doesn't start. That means Leno and Massie stepped up. If they don't step up, I don't want a late round development project coming in to be our hero. That's the mindset that got us Leno in the first place. He does not have the talent to make up for a bad day.(a high quality pick does) In addition, we need to build for a future without our current duds.

Confused? Am I stupid
Right on. Starting caliber corners are never a bargain. Safeties are a dime a dozen. You never have enough good CB, EDGE and OL.

The Athletic Consensus Big Board
Did a couple of drafts off of this and in conjunction with the other thread you did with trade scenarios. I remember liking options 1 and 2 respectively. With that our first 6 picks are 47, 57, 104, 119, 163, and 196. I stayed within slots on each pick. The first pick is from Consensus, the second is from Evaluator. If only one pick, they both agreed. 47 Michel Pittman WR 57 Ezra Cleveland OT, Kyle Dugger SS 104 Brycen Hopkins TE, Amik Robertson CB 119 Darnay Holmes CB, Alex Highsmith EDGE 163 Trevis Gipson EDGE, Trey Adams OT 196 David Woodward LB

Most important needs that help the team?
I don't care if Pace thinks this is his last stand. You draft for the future, not the present. I'm very concerned with his history of falling in love with a player and moving up to get him, let alone trading back. We truly need to trade back. No franchise can survive with drafting for the now.

Most important needs that help the team?
OT and WR for me. The draft is deep in those positions, so you have to take advantage. The rookie OT starts. The rookie WR is good for 30 snaps a game.

Terry Bradshaw
That was the same issue with Cutler. OL and him waiting too long to throw got him killed. It's a shared blame, great QB's find a way. Sometimes the situation kills a QB. That's why I rate Manning ahead of Brady. Brady came into a Superbowl caliber team that won despite his deficiencies. Manning came into a one win team and went 3-13 on his first year while leading the league in interceptions. The following year 13-3 with a team on his back.

TE OJ Howard available?
At first I said no, but how about Cohen and Shaheen for Howard?

Potential Trade Options
Looking at 43 and 50 respectively, I would love option 1, then option 2. Getting two 3rd rounders while keeping two 2nds would be fantastic. I love it when you do this stuff. My only fear is that we risk missing out on one of those 1st round graded WR's.

Bears Pre-Draft Interviews
If the Bears were truly concerned they couldn't full that void, KPL would still be here. Certain positions that we keep taking about aren't hard to fill. (OG, ILB, S and RB) Those positions are always affordable on the free agent market. And they generally don't get drafted high, unless they are special.

Bears Pre-Draft Interviews
I'm 100% with this. When there is overwhelming strength of a draft, you have to take advantage of it. No team has a deficiency somewhere. When we look at ours, it's offense as a whole. We are weak at OT and slow at WR. How much does better blocking and a more spread defense help the run game and intermediate passing game? Factor in, that we already strengthened our defense by adding a 2nd DE that can get to the QB. How much does a higher level SS help compared to offensive help. I would argue that continuing the strengthening of the defensive front makes the back end stronger while diminishing the opposition's run attack. Just think if they draft the next Akiem Hicks? I guess what I'm getting at with defense is that safety isn't that big of a deal. Here's my order of importance. OT, speed WR with every down skills, CB, DE, OG, RB, TE, and S. I left out QB and LB for opposite reasons. QB is done for this year and LB has the most star power.

I love that draft. It would be miraculous for Higgins to fall that far though.

Dane Brugler Mock 5.0
What stuck out to me was the quality receivers that slipped.

Steve Smith on Aiyuk
Can't speek for Aiyuk, but Reagor has jets that Miller doesn't have. I watched him run his 40 live and the commentators said don't worry about the 4.47 because they had plenty of film of him leaving other fast people.

Remaining Offseason Moves
Lol, good one! Don't forget Pittman...

Remaining Offseason Moves
Agreed on both counts. I couldn't find value at the picks we had for what you guys suggested. It was definitely on my mind.

Remaining Offseason Moves
I spent some time researching these players to make sure they fit. I was also able to realistically trade down twice to get two 3rd round picks. What do y'all think?

Steve Smith on Aiyuk
The more I think about it, the more I'm certain we must draft an OT early. Leno needs a threat, otherwise we might get more lazy work from him. I'm also still in camp with trading back, so Reagor, then OT would be ideal.

Bears Draft Survey
I'm not going to play the whole game, but I love Jalen Raegor and Lynn Bowden respectively. Ben Bredeson keeps me thinking of Quentin Nelson. Lastly, Jordan Love is going high in the draft. Had a lot of coaches and coordinators in college. But tremendous upside. We won't have draft collateral to get him anyway.

I know that was tongue and cheek, but Mitch ain't going anywhere.

Foles it is
I like it. Mitchs' mental toughness has been questioned by a few in the know. He either grows a set or rides the pine.
