I've been on and am still 100% in on trading back. The talent in the 3rd and 4th rounds is very good. I'd love for us to pull 8 players out of this draft. There is no reason to believe we can't draft 5 players between the 2nd and 5th round.

You know my answer is yes. OL also should be highly drafted. I don't like developing OL as much as drafting a guy that has the talent to succeed while honing his craft. Higher floor and ceiling guys are needed.

In looking at the best TE's, whether they are U or Y, they are really good blockers. They also have a feel for the soft part of the field.

On Patterson: he was a special teams stud in all phases. If they can get him on the field for 15-20 plays a game on offense, he is worth keeping.

It's not about their individual stats. For starters, Trubisky knows the offense and he knows how to run for his life. Small miracles happen but it's not likely our line will be more than average this year. Add in the 2nd rounder and the scales tip the balance toward Mitch. Carr commands a decent salary that we cannot afford. If we take that on, many holes don't get filled with free agent money. Lastly, you don't throw your developing QB away for Derek Carr. It's not even close.
