Polian agrees with you and so do I for the most part. As a former OL I can be a little biased. I just want for one unit on our team to be dominant. We have a chance to get a difference maker at 7, so I'm back to WR or pass rusher.
I've been on record of wanting to trade Forte and draft another RB, but I don't there is one worthy of the 7 pick. I'll gladly take one in round 2 or 3.
My simple thought is that he is not a difference maker. There are 5 running backs in this year's draft that can run for more than Forte and they'll be cheaper and 9 years younger. Forte can help a lot of teams more than he can help us.
Lol, you know what's crazy about the NFL draft is the fact that we could have this draft and the odds are that it would not be a historically great one.
Following your trade:
15) Breshad Perriman - WR
39) Jake Fisher - OT
46) Tevin Coleman - RB
3rd) Hronis Grassu - C
4th) Kurtis Drummond - S
5th) Cam Thomas - CB
6th) Athletic small school sleeper
I trade Forte for a 4th and pick up another DB
He has no leverage, so I'm not concerned. He's a pro. He'll come in on time and in shape. I would still trade him for a pick and draft the type of back the new staff wants. I'd take any off the top 5 in this draft.
