  1. Happy birthday, mother McCaskey! 101 ?? ?
  2. Funny isn't it? The defense progressed to almost get us there. While Justin didn't make the leap. I can dig it up, but part of my thoughts were that Justin had to vastly improve for us to make the playoffs. Had he vastly improved, we would be a greatly feared team right now, D included.
  3. We're three years in. Ain't gonna happen.
  4. The locker room is good and the defense has improved greatly. Unless he blows this game, I believe he stays. Same. Poles has earned my trust, far beyond what my opinion is. ? ?. My brother, who I want to kill every football season, is a packer fan. The owner (Rodgers) just made a comment yesterday and said he's not sure it's a rivalry anymore. My his Achilles rot and get a flesh eating bacteria! Even Carmen and Jurko are saying the rivalry is diminished. It's alive and strong in Bears fans hearts. We're looking for that Phoenix to ride from ashes!
  5. Unless he finds a way to lose the game, I think he stays.
  6. Justin can't throw them. He's got a tell. He cocks his elbow and defensive tackles' hands go up. Or Justin throws it into a helmet. That's why Getsy stopped calling them. It was in the playbook last year...
  7. I may change my mind this summer. I'm just not fond of the Yahoo app. The layout screws with my OCD. Love the ESPN app. It's so much cleaner.
  8. I remember all of the Cutler arguments. Get him more weapons. Get him OL. Get him a good coordinator. In the end, it was Cutler.
  9. Here are my thoughts from a year ago. So far, the OL is better than last year, but not a finished product. The Whitehair to center thing failed, just as it did a few years ago. Give me a new center and the starting five are solid. The defense has exceeded my expectations. (Upgrade three DL positions, bang!) The key, as always, is Justin. On the season as a whole, big fail. Last 6 games, average. As of now, Justin is on the out. He can sway my opinion with a plus game Sunday. We don't necessarily need to win, but HE must leave his mark, especially in the fourth quarter. (He definitely can't be a reason we lose)
  10. Carter had all those sacks in the first half of the season too. Remember the questions on his conditioning and weight prior to the draft? He's trending down...
  11. I wish I could have selected WR twice.
  12. As of now, the link doesn't work. My pops wants to go to QB/WR/TE day, so I'm going to stay on it.
  13. If anyone is interested in going to the combine, here's the info.
  14. Long read, but it says everything... https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39219170/chicago-bears-quarterback-justin-fields-caleb-williams-drake-maye-no-1-pick-2024-nfl-draft
  15. It depends on the extent of the injury. A MRI will tell the story. The good part is Penix will be better protected in the NFL than anywhere. Any knee injuries you see with NFL QBs anymore is usually fluke.
  16. This is why I want him to trade out of the number one pick. If he can swap that with a team he feels will suck, he can possibly get us the number one pick again. There are two players in this draft that I covet, MHJ and Bowers. If can can get a haul, plus one of the above, I would call it a win.

    Bears Defense

Dexter has a lot of work to do. An off season of chasing chickens would do miracles for his career. The more they can do to loosen his hips the better. He has God given country strength and he relies on it to make plays. That is definitely good enough to be a solid piece of the puzzle. He also plays with his pads square to the line of scrimmage, ass he rarely gets turned. That is great in the run game. If he can adapt to sinking his hips and getting off quicker, sky is the limit. Some people can't do it while others can.. If he can't, I'd have him gain 15 pounds and become a 1T that can generate pressure.
  18. I did not, so I watched a compilation. He throws a lot of passes short, but his arm strength is there. Lemme sober up and take a good look.
  19. Since they were chanting "we want Justin", at the game yesterday, I thought I'd give him an all offense draft.
  20. Agreed the math is not the important issue, but your reply is still off point. Commenting the obvious, multiple thousand yard receivers is not a new thing. So if we get a stud receiver and our QB throws for 4K yards, another 1300 yard reciever is possible regardless of attempts.
  21. You might want to rethink your math. It doesn't factor in increased pass attempts and undetermined successes.
  22. I wish I could have watched the game. I listened to Thayer and he's usually spot on. He said Justin looked really good the first three quarters and questioned whether the fourth quarter stuff is Getsy or Fields.
  23. Congrats Adam! I just lucked out and won my money league with Kmet getting me nothing.
