  1. Take a LT from a major college program, draft him early, and then convert him into a center? Respectfully, that’s an atrocious idea.
  2. I saw a draft where the Bears traded their first to CLE. That would take their 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, and future 2nd. At first I wasn’t sure I liked it, but looking at some players available, the idea isn’t bad. 2.01-Jonah Savaiinaea, OG, AZ - Monster. Takes Pryor’s job day one. 2.07-Jack Sawyer, DE, OSU - Temu Watt brother takes Walker’s job day one. 2.09-Wyatt Milum, OT, WV - ZERO sacks or pressures in 2024. Takes Borom’s job before the draft is over. 3.03-Tate Ratledge, OG, UGA: Has everything we thought Teven Jenkins would be. 3.08-Andrew Mukuba, FS, TX: Google “Mukuba Stockton hit.” He starts by mid season at worst. 3.30-Cam Skattebo, RB, AZST: Gritty. Has heart. Hard to argue with production. That’d be quite a haul and likely fill most major holes immediately. Would you make that trade? If so, what would you do in those draft slots?
  3. Preach. Which is why the Lovie-2 was so infuriating and probably took years off the average Bears fan’s life. (Also because the scheme doesn’t work without Urlacher, Briggs, & Peanut.)

    Cooper Kupp

He’s on the trade block, injury prone, and has a big contract. I’d call the Rams and offer a 4th, whatever salary split makes sense, and see how bad they want to dump him.
  5. Honestly, I think he’s the RB version of Dexter Manley. Great at football, good at X’s and O’s, but probably dumb as a box of rocks, or just straight up illiterate. What other explanation could there be?

I don’t believe that is problem solved. It’s 2 out of 5. It’s still a ragtag unit. A rookie LT, nuff said. Kiran at LG is a huge risk. Shelton is two years removed from practice squad, so he’s far from good. Trey Smith would be a great addition. Wright is proving to be solid.

Given the gamble, I don’t care what dudes named Brandon Thorn say about the draft. I care more about dudes who look like grizzly bears with quick feet who earned their battle scars in big time college football. As for moving inside, so be it. Give me ten year studs at any OL Position. Lastly, if we went DL, OL, OL, I’d be fine with that.

I love that it’s FINALLY GETTING FOCUS. It only happens every 20 years or so. I just wish this franchise would learn that average skill players benefit far more from great OLs than the reverse. Give ANY QB in the NFL a secure pocket and time, and there is guaranteed offensive success.

The problem with that is that top tier OL isn’t available in FA. At best the second tier guys are available. Which leads to gambling on players who used to be good and may have a few years left, or players with “potential.”
  10. I’ve been thinking that Skattebo could be a good pick in the 4th, maybe even late 3rd. He runs with power, heart, and determination. There’s also that chip on his shoulder. He could be a real workhorse that keeps drives alive by consistently churning out 4+ypc w/ an occasional long play.
  11. I smell 🐂💩. That’s immediately suspect analysis, likely performed by an underperforming JV offensive lineman who, despite his man-boobs and general body composition resembling 275lbs of chewed bubblegum, thinks he could have been all-state if the varsity coach had put him in. The way I see it you break down into the following categories: 1. QB’s fault, held for big play 2. QB’s fault, missed read 3. WR’s fault, incorrect route(s) 4. OL’s fault, QB pressure/sack in pocket 5. OL’s fault, QB forced out of pocket I’m betting there is a lot of conflict between 1 & 5.
  12. That’s going to be a very subjective analysis. Generally speaking I’d say it’s gotta be a great majority on the OL.
  13. No disagreement at all. But two of those monsters completely changes how an offense must attack. I’m fine with having less explosive middle rush as long as they push the pocket and occupy the four interior gaps.
  14. You don’t, but you also should have a pretty damn good idea of who your top three are. The Bears are going at this like a virgin freshman asking every girl in the class to prom.
  15. Yeah. It’s comical actually. It’s like having Jordan, Kobe, and Pippen standing next to Bill Cartwright and considering whether or not Bill is interested in playing on your 3-man basketball team.
  16. Holy shit. I hadn’t thought of Saban. 1,000,000% if he is interested. Best college coach ever. If it doesn’t translate to the NFL it is not about his coaching ability, and more about something exterior like bad drafts (GM), bad ownership (McCaskey), or bad culture (spoiled millionaire players).
  17. Agree. If you believe a guy is Lombardi or Papa Bear, you interview him. You don’t set up interviews with ten other dudes for practice.
  18. I don’t believe it’s archaic. Having two monster 2-gap DTs occupies 3 blockers (GCG) and immediately puts the defense at a numerical disadvantage. And the defense is actually up two players unless playing against a running QB. OTs on DEs one on one is exactly what you want on defense. The obvious added benefit, of course, is that it limits the running lanes, allowing your LBs to blitz and gamble on big plays since A and B gaps are essentially clogged. I’d take Traylor and Washington in a heartbeat. Just like you can’t teach height in basketball, you can’t teach playable girth in football. A dude who can carry around 340 with mobility is not normal.
  19. Remember when the Bears had Traylor and Washington? I always loved those years. They don’t get many sacks, but they solve the run game issues. That allows others to free lance a bit more, and more exotic blitzing becomes possible. Thats’s my way of saying I also like Walker.
  20. It’s like the Bears are simply opposed to selecting the common sense pick. The common sense formula: Great success in college Big-time football program Consistent production against all opponents No injury concerns Position of need
  21. While I obviously think Williams has better QB skills than Fields, the role of a GM is to win games. And the team overall would likely have been better off keeping Fields, and trading the #1 for a boatload of picks that contained the various missing pieces. Fields had flaws, but teams have won with much worse QBs. So Poles failed in two regards. His player evaluation failed, and he also failed in terms of draft capital management.
  22. Let’s go!!😂😂😂 Honestly, it would be looked at as one of the most bizarre draft day moves of all time, like Ditka trading everything for Ricky Williams, but at least it would show a serious effort to protect Caleb and put him in the best possible position to survive.
