Bingo. The only person/people who know anything are those with proven track records. For instance, who is picking for the Steelers? They’re perpetually good. Maybe not great every year, but very good. And that’s why I continually discount the Bears’ front office, and the fans who blindly support. They’ve failed for decades. Prove me wrong for more than a single year, then I’ll stop criticism. Until then, the picks that seem to not make sense, or go against what the team clearly needs, will always be met with skepticism.

100% concur. So many Bears fans have been saying “trust the process” or “trust the experts,” or mocking everyone else as armchair GMs for literal decades, all while the actual Bears GMs have continually shit the bed. We can never know what would have happened if we made the picks, if the players would have coalesced into a winning team, or if certain combinations would have produced results. But what we DO know is that the Bears’ GMs have unequivocally failed for all but a handful of years since the mid-80s.

Bingo! That’s why this pick doesn’t make sense unless Kmet is on the chopping block. That’s way too much tied into the TE position, regardless of the amount of 12-package being run. Everyone needs to remember, there is still only one football.

The inference here is that we should trust them. Out of all franchises in the NFL, the Bears are one of the few the fanbase absolutely should not trust. They continually F up year after year without learning previous lessons. Without trying the obvious. Without sticking to simplicity. Without building the trenches. So, I hope he’s the next Travis Kelce, but right now it looks like a really bad selection for a team that already has a talented, underused TE and many other holes to fill.

I know that’s the talking point, but there are two items that make it a bad point: 1. Go look at the Lions’s TE stats last year. Unless Kmet gets traded, it’s a waste. 2. Number THREE Wide Receiver. As in third guy. As in, not worthy of a #10 pick.

Hate. Seething hate for this mock. A TE in the first would already be a horrible move for this franchise. We don’t know what Kmet has until there is an offense in place that is coherent and creative enough to exploit defensive gaps. Elite TEs like Kittle and Mr. Taylor Swift are wide open multiple times a game and it’s not because they run 4.3s. Additionally, until the OL protects Caleb - which has a more likely chance this year - there is no way of knowing if the TE was truly successful, because a QB in front of a jail break will resort to one of three options: first read, check down, run. And then to consider TE at 10?!?? Gimme a break. That would be atrocious.

Falling in love with players, particularly when it doesn't perfectly align with on-field production, is a fool's errand. Drafting for NFL players should be 95% on-field production, with the rest being heavy on combine.

Yeah, I'm all for recycling. I just can't stand how they immediately misplaced multiple players and thought it would work out. I don't care to look back into to Talkbears history, but I remember breaking this down at one point and the Bears had an entire OL comprised of guys playing at other than their primary position.

You're right, but 99.9999999% people believe the Bears should NOT draft the SECOND BEST RB in the draft with their first round pick.

He was a good RB, but has never been a brain when it comes to analysis. And the further away from the field it gets (i.e. player analysis), the worse he becomes.

I absolutely loathe the idea of moving OLinemen because someone else sucks or is subpar. We should have learned that lesson as a franchise so many times. Chris Williams, Kyle Long, Cody Whitehair...how many times must this be done before the lesson is learned?
