  1. Bingo. That’s my point. Much easier to succeed when the OL is allowed to restrain rushing defenders like perps on a Cops rerun. Bears need to get some of that respect. Until then, can’t really block (i.e. hold) and protect Fields.
  2. Hint hint https://brobible.com/sports/article/chiefs-holding-call-super-bowl/
  3. I think it shows that the worst teams don’t benefit much by drafting a WR highly because the WR is a player that only benefits from a sound team. That means an offense that’s established, with a coach who has had time to create and foster a successful culture, with an OC who has a proven track record. Otherwise, a prima Donna WR is drafted, and the support structure above fails the player. Of course, I believe the coaching flaws can be mitigated with the right OL, because players who are in the NFL are realistically good enough to do well if they have time to throw and/or run their routes.
  4. LOL! That’s great! Honestly, that’s why I think it’s all BS and the people who say “oh, they know way better than you because they’re in the NFL” are wrong. I know what my eyes see, and it doesn’t take someone with 20 years in the league to have the same draft success the Bears have had. That shit can be done by a drunk and a dart board.
  5. Agree. They need to bolster the OL by getting a top tier OG and OC, adding a pro WR opposite DJ, and seeing if they can get someone to be a NFL-level RB that actually screw opponents. If they start with the OL, the rest is a lot easier.

    Super Bowl

I hate that Nagy has a ring now.
  7. I won’t say I have the best track record, because I’ve probably missed as many as made, but I truly believe the Bears have continuously mishandled the QB position for decades, and are about to continue the trend if they pick Williams.
  8. You were all in on Trubisky too. I hated him, the trade, AND the pick. None of us are right all the time, and I’ve been wrong a lot, but I trust my gut on this one. Williams is loaded with red flags and is going to be a bust.
  9. And his description sounds exactly how people describe Fields. Turns down layups, tries for big plays, extends plays to his detriment. It’s exactly how people characterize Fields, but in the NFL. Even if those were some of those were Fields faults in college, at least he dominated while in college. Williams lost 5 of his last 6, then bailed on his team for the bowl game.
  10. This is where I disagree. Fields has had a bad or below average OL his entire time in Chicago. The offensive weapons he has had are arguably worse. It’s like giving a Julliard trained musician a few strings hooked up to a bowed stick from the backyard: there will be moments of brilliance where you realize his musical genius is far beyond the norm, but ultimately he won’t be able to make incredible music with garbage, and you end up doubting whether or not he actually is as good as everyone says he is.
  11. Big mistake. The "experts" have been screwing up evaluation and drafts for the Bears for over 30 years.
  12. Einstein: John Fox 2015 - Cutler lacks protection, we all hate Fox John Fox 2016 - Cutler lacks protection, we all hate Fox John Fox 2017 (Lame Duck Year) - Trubisky drafted Matt Nagy 2018 - Trubisky lacks protection, defense is amazing, makes Nagy look smart Matt Nagy 2019 - Trubisky lacks protection, defense regresses, Nagy not so smart Matt Nagy 2020 - Trubisky lacks protection, defense stays average, Nagy still not smart Matt Nagy 2021 (Lame Duck Year) - Fields drafted Matt Eberflus 2022 - Fields lacks protection, but shows some potential for greatness, we side-eye Eberflus Matt Eberflus 2023 - Fields lacks protection, and is neutered, we already hate Eberflus Matt Eberflus 2024 (Lame Duck Year) - ???
  13. But wasn’t he literally a top ten TE in 2023?
  14. I don't know if I agree that Kmet is purely a Y. Based on alignment, I thought traditional TE=Y and TE who is used in the slot, backfield, etc. is a "move" or "Z." He may not line up in the backfield, but I've seen him in the slot. Either way, he's a #1 TE and the Bears should fill other holes before spending early draft capital on another pass-catching TE, whatever the categorization.
  15. Yeah, if that's true, it's yet another red flag for Caleb Williams. Also, I completely agree about Mahomes. If he were drafted by the Bears, he would have been ruined.
  16. I basically manufactured the trades to suit my needs, focus on offense, and support Fields. Best WR Best OC Best OG Insurance QB Remainder are high quality, good output players from big football schools. At the end I was just being funny and maneuvering to get the former players' sons.
  17. Years and years have gone by with so many of these "once in a lifetime" guys. The platitudes and hyperbole happens every year about this guy and that guy, but it's always a guess. Far too many fail, and it's pure 50/50 crap shoot at best. And we've also seen far too many guys who legitimately could have been HoFers in terms of their talent, but were failed by the drafting franchise through either a lack of coaching support or offensive teammate support. I guess the point I'm making is that putting Caleb Williams behind the Bears' OL, with the Bears' offensive weapons, is basically throwing a sheep to wolves yet again...and setting the franchise back another 3-4 years.
  18. I've watched video, read reports, and no matter what I do I still think, "Yeah, but North Carolina and Trubisky." It's like that one liquor that you got absolutely shit-faced to in college, and even though someone offers it to you years later, the mere thought of it makes you want to vomit.
  19. If Washington is willing to give up the #2, and TWO OTHER FIRST ROUND PICKS, then Poles would be insane to turn that down. That's foundation building, and the Bears would be able to build a stacked roster instead of a QB on a team full of scrubs.
  20. I know it's not an apples to apples comparison, but I can't believe any Bears fan is a Drake May guy after Trubisky.
  21. I hate all drafts that grab Bowers. A second pass catching TE is a luxury, and there are actual spots of need right now. Yeah, yeah, Gronk and Hernandez, but otherwise it’s not realistic. Two “move” TEs just hasn’t successfully happened as far as I can recall otherwise. I’d rather see someone like Brevyn Spann-Ford from Minnesota in round 5.
  22. This one would be pretty amazing. maybe a little scary to throw a rookie QB behind a bunch of OL inexperience, but I think Fautanu and JPJ start immediately. And Jordan Morgan fights for a spot as well.
  23. Right? Call me sexist, but I just can’t trust her opinion in a male dominated sport. I don’t think she is REALLY getting the scoop. She’s getting platitudes and courtesy, but that’s it.
  24. I traded and traded again. If the Bears are going with Williams, then I don't want to hear any of this BS about WRs not getting open. Both Mitchell and McConkey are basically unguardable half the game. Both of them excel at route running, and their highlights are full of them just randomly being wide open somehow. Add in SVP, who I think is the best overall Center in the draft, and ZZ who would have gone much earlier if not for injury, and that's a lot of help for the offense and rookie QB. Defensive starters are just gravy.
