Week 16 Official Game Thread - GB @ CHI, 7:20pm, SAT, 12/20, FOX, CHI +3
Why is Howie Long meat riding? He called the hit on Love dirty? That’s horseshit. It was 90% form tackle. Booker just needed to lift his head and see his target. Then it would have been 100%. It’s not like he can change physics when Love drops his head a foot or more lower just before impact. Side note: Thinking about buying a Booker jersey.

Week 16 Official Game Thread - GB @ CHI, 7:20pm, SAT, 12/20, FOX, CHI +3
I honestly don’t. I want them to be riddled by season-ending injuries. I want them to be completely barren. I want them to suffer. This goes all the way back to Charles Martin and the never-ending string of Bears’ QBs afterwards. I’ll never let it go. Especially when they get back to back HOF QBs over the stretch of 20 years, followed by what appears to be yet another franchise QB.

How long is Caleb’s leash?
I don’t want perfection. I want to see obvious progress in simple scenarios. He needs to hit the guaranteed passes that prolong drives and create scoring opportunities.

How long is Caleb’s leash?
No. I’m comparing Lovie’s ending with Caleb’s beginning. It’s kind of apples and oranges, but it has the same purgatory feel.

No doubt the first half had more opportunities to criticize Caleb. He was terrible in the first half and it’s almost as if they didn’t trust him to throw the ball. But if the first half was terrible, and the second half has obvious issues that largely cost the team the game, that’s not a good starting point.

Week 15 Official Game Thread - CLE @ CHI, 1200 SUN 12/14, FOX, Bears -7.5, O/U 40.5
Many games of the last 20 years or so have felt like this. A journeyman or worse QB comes in with bad stats and/or receivers, and everyone expects the Bears to dominate. Then that average-to-below average dude starts carving up the Bears’ D. I’ll be honest fellas; this game concerns me way more than it should. It should be a win by 14 or more, but I think it’ll be close.

Kmet COULD have run a slightly different angle, but that INT is 100% on Caleb’s slow read and poor throw. Kmet was open way early and all Williams had to do was lead him.

How long is Caleb’s leash?
Yes, it makes us happy, but it doesn’t erase obvious flaws. Wins DESPITE a player can’t be ignored. And that’s how it feels far too often with Caleb missing open receivers. We appreciate the 11 or 12 wins, but yearn for the potential of greatness. It kind of reminds of Lovie’s end. Great, 10 or 11 wins. But then what? Glaring holes and a Divisional round loss? Again, what makes this worse is seeing his potential. His ceiling is extremely high. And if he just cleaned up the singles and doubles, it would be a lot easier to love the home runs. And that goes right back to the accuracy.

- How long is Caleb’s leash?
All year it’s been kind of the same. Flashes of brilliance mixed with horrific accuracy and suspect mechanics. I keep waiting for a huge, breakout game. A ridiculous game that displays why he was the #1 pick. Something that shows him carrying the team instead of just being part of it. Then one or two fairly dominating games where he puts up big stats. Hell, even Shadeur Sanders had one today. So how long is his leash? He’s clearly not performing like a #1 pick when missing simple throws and obvious reads. The last play of the game was a brutal demonstration of both. He made the read very late when the WR was wide open. Then made a weak throw with poor anticipation. And to make things worse, DJ leaked out on an underneath route wide open. He would have walked in for a TD. So, again, how long is his leash?- 🏈 Week 14 Official Game Thread 🏈 CHI@GB, Dec 7th, 325PM CST, FOX, CHI +6.5
100% agree. It’s like he can’t see the easy button. Just take the 4-5 yards and be happy.- 🏈 Week 14 Official Game Thread 🏈 CHI@GB, Dec 7th, 325PM CST, FOX, CHI +6.5
I’d love for someone to analyze the all-22 of this one. I saw 3-4 times where Caleb just didn’t see or hit an open receiver. I just don’t understand why every throw has to be difficult. Other than the soft toss to Loveland, nearly all throws are rockets. Meanwhile, Love is just tossing rainbows into spots with deadly accuracy. Caleb reminds me of the saying, “It is only when mosquito land on your balls that you realize there is a way to solve problems without using [force].”- 🏈 Week 14 Official Game Thread 🏈 CHI@GB, Dec 7th, 325PM CST, FOX, CHI +6.5
Disagree. The offense was total ass in the first half, and 186 yds passing just won’t cut it in the NFL. Caleb has to improve his accuracy and stop with all the wild angles, off balance throws, and terrified scrambling in the pocket. His inaccuracy is what’s holding the team back from being truly dangerous.- OL...

I’ve only been asking for it since the last Super Bowl. Finally someone did it, and look what happens. Who would have thought? 🙄- 🏈 Week 13 Official Black Friday Game Thread 🏈 CHI@PHI, Nov 28th, 2PM CST, AMZ, CHI +6.5
This is complete domination in the first half, yet the scoreboard doesn’t reflect that. I hate these games because it’s perfect locker room fuel for the losing team. ”We played like shit and we are only down one score!”- 🏈 Week 13 Official Black Friday Game Thread 🏈 CHI@PHI, Nov 28th, 2PM CST, AMZ, CHI +6.5
Yeah, I don’t like it either. It’s one of those plays where a player gave all the indicators of an OPI, but didn’t have a real effect.- 🏈 Week 13 Official Black Friday Game Thread 🏈 CHI@PHI, Nov 28th, 2PM CST, AMZ, CHI +6.5
Yeah. That was funny. Rome may have been the second in progression, but nothing greater. It’s as I said; Caleb rushed it because he couldn’t believe how wide open Rome was.- 🏈 Week 13 Official Black Friday Game Thread 🏈 CHI@PHI, Nov 28th, 2PM CST, AMZ, CHI +6.5
That last one to Rome was bad. He got excited, rushed it, and didn’t plant his back leg. He was almost falling and the throw was short. That was a TD.- 🏈 Week 13 Official Black Friday Game Thread 🏈 CHI@PHI, Nov 28th, 2PM CST, AMZ, CHI +6.5
Agree. I didn’t agree with going for it on 4/1. A FG at that distance is nearly certain, and you put points on the board whenever you can.- 🏈 Week 12 Official Game Thread 🏈 PIT @ CHI, Nov 23rd, 12PM CST, CBS, CHI -2.5
😄😄 I refuse to buy the combination of Sunday ticket, paramount, Disney, Jimmy Joe’s Game of the Week, and YouTube TV. Just local games for me.- 🏈 Week 12 Official Game Thread 🏈 PIT @ CHI, Nov 23rd, 12PM CST, CBS, CHI -2.5
1. Didn’t watch. 2. Was Caleb inaccurate again on simple passes? 3. Who all had drops? 4. Winning like this is not normally a sustainable plan. But is it just good enough? Or are the Bears getting breaks? It seems the breaks are even, if not against the Bears slightly. So, is it actually sustainable this year? Are the Bears actually better than we realize considering the injuries, officiating imbalance, and self-inflicted mistakes? 5. This feels like the Lovie era. This team will win just enough to threaten or make the playoffs, get thumped, and have a draft pick in the teens. Unless you hit a home run on that teen draft pick, it’s a sure fire recipe for perpetual 10-7 or 9-8 seasons with the same ending. - How long is Caleb’s leash?
