  1. It's not bad, but I think Hester needs to prove he can consistently get off of a jam before he can claim the 2nd WR spot. I rather have him as a situational WR or slot WR so he can put ungodly pressure on the other Team's nickel. If Hester is in the slot attacking the seams and Olsen also stretching the field or working the middle. I think it would put a lot of pressure on the safties. This would let Booker or Bennett/Bradley/Davis to basically be one on one. Giving the QB confidence that he would be assured one on one match up's on the outside. If the QB is Rex I think the works in his favor because his best throw is the deep pass to the skinny post in the seam and if the safties don't respect Hester or Olsen it's the one pass which Rex can execute and make them pay. Just my two bits.
  2. This is most likely JA's reasoning as well. Hence why the Bears made upgrades around the QB instead of trying to upgrade the QB position.
  3. Hey I'm no internet tough guy. I was born with a mental defect and I'm on adderall and anti-psychotics. I'm lucky to be able to raed corectz. There are days when I wish wasn't beaten with a two by four. Eh, what's mental patient to do?
  4. Maybe you should restart the Fire Jerry Angelo website.
  5. Another possiblity is the Hefty Lefty Jared "You going to finish that?" Lorenzen. Since NY drafted Woodson fatty would be the odd man out.
  6. It's an old article about both Kevin Smith and Matt Forte, but it does state why I think the Bears regarded Forte so high. Forte, Smith have taken similar paths to stardom What makes Forte's production so impressive is that Forte was Tulane's only weapon last year.
  7. He will be Chicago's version of Marion Barber.
  8. Was I really slobbering? I'm sorry I was beat as child with a wooden spoon. I thought the surgery corrected the problem.
  9. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Caleb Haine. And if I really drink some Kool Aid I predict Caleb Haine will be the next Tony Romo.
  10. I thought it was a solid draft, but the only big disappointment was the lack of QB's taken.
  11. I think Simms could easily be had for a 4th round pick...if he had a spleen. So, with the splenectomy discount I say he could be had for a 5th-6th round pick.
  12. 2008 starting Oline: Willaims LT, St Clair LOG, Kreutz, Garza, Tait RT. I think Garza can return to his 2006 form because he won't have to worry about watching his right. I also don't think there is a guard prospect that will be able to contribute right away. Another possibility would be to wait for more cap causalities and first cuts to find a right guard.
  13. What impresses me about Forte is his feet. Once in the hole he still has the ability to make people miss because his feet are very nimble.
  14. Here is the real simple reason why Matt Forte will NOT be fullback in the NFL. 4.46 in the forty. This makes him faster than any RB on the team.
  15. I think the main difference between Mendenhall and Forte are their running styles. Mendenhall runs like a thoroughbred; very smooth and yet powerful. Forte runs like an angry bull, yet he has very good feet. Matt Forte Mendenhall
  16. So Chris Williams is only good enough for the Texans, who really need o-line help, at 18...huh...sounds like disinformation to me. If a player has a significant medical issue that would cause him to be taken off teams boards it would have been very public, especially if the player is viable first round draft pick. I call shenanigans and give this article my stamp of BS approval.
  17. I think the only reason why the bears would try to move back up into the first would be for a QB. Flacco and Henne are the logical targets. I would give the edge to Henne if this is the case because his name has gotten crazy hot in the last few days with him being linked to a couple teams. Countdown to Henne haters in 5..4..3...2...

    Talking OL

I really do like Otah. I think he has that special blend of power and balance that he can contribute right away on the right side. Everyone is getting hung up on his negatives but I think his power run blocking is unmatched in this draft.

    Henne at 14?

This rumor just came out a few days before the draft, can anyone say smoke screen? Just the fact that this rumor was leaked by McShay tells me someone intentionally let it slip to generate trade interest or to hide true intentions.
  20. I think Otah's power and size could be a great asset for the Bears...IF they adjust their scheme a bit to accommodate what he does well, which is lining up, locking on and power driving opponents.
  21. I actually think Brohm will be there in the second. Both Henne and Flacco have better arms and if Brohm isn't drafted in the first round (a very good chance this doesn't happen) I think teams looking to draft a QB in the second, with the idea to have them sit for year or two, will want to draft a QB with higher upside.
  22. It's an unlikely scenario. Trading up in the first round simply isn't JA's habit...

    Second Round RB's

I think this year's crop of WR is very weak and Caldwell could be had for a third rounder. So you can still have what you want but probably not in the order you expect. Apostrophe'

    This is pretty decent

Actually I found this draft to be pretty decent. Albert in the first will give the Bears a guard who can pull and be quick enough to pull of the inside traps that Ruben Brown used to be able to do. Jamaal has the speed to take advantage of Albert's skills. Will Franklin was the potential to be the deep threat Berrian was, however I do question WR coming from spread offenses. The only problem I found was the DB. I would have preferred the Bears to roll the dice on Josh Johnson with their final third round pick.

    Second Round RB's

The thing is if Chris Johnson (or any of these backs) are draft by the Bears they will be in a two back rotation, which is common now days in the NFL.
