Honestly you cant believe anything you hear right now, some of it may prove to be true, but how do you know what rumors are valid or not. There is no way Cleve passes up on a Juilius Peppers in a draft, that would be silly especially since they have the picks to move up and grab a QB if SF does not draft a QB. But then they do not have football people running the organisation right now, so may be a wild card for knowing what they will do.

They are doing the homework to find out who will be the best, but truth is, maybe they find out none of them will. They all have drawbacks. When a Andrew Luck comes out, it is very obvious, and his career has leveled off due to a lack of talent around him. You just never know who it may be , but I do not think #3 is the spot to take a chance just for sake of drafting a QB you do not believe will be special. If they do draft one, then they believe he can be, and i will trust them for it. If they are wrong, fired, if right, we make them heroes.

the two most important things for a true franchise QB is love of football and the desire to be the best he can be. It helps to have all of the rest, but without the first two, probably just good not great. The question is who has that desire? Time will tell

When they talk about Fox doing well in his second year, in this case its his third year. If everybody is healthy at the beginning of the season, we go 2-2 out of the blocks. Actually right now I will predict a Falcons upset.

I think he is one of the better experts for the draft. Not always right but very consistent.

Anything you hear now is just bullshit, what good GM is going to let the world know what players they want. That is just writers posting rumors

I believe Hooker would be our pick if not for the injury concerns, after White and some issues with Floyd last year, they have to draft a clean player. Hooker may end up not having injury issues, but hard to ignore it before the draft.

My dream draft has us trading with Cleveland and getting #12-33-65-145 for #3 1-12 Johnathan Allen/5T drops down due to his medicals. 2-1 Cam Robinson is the OT that drops down in the top 3 group. 2-4 Evan Engram/TE adds a huge target 3-1 Cordrea Tankersley/CB sneaky good playmaker with 9 interceptions the last two years. 3-3 Josh Jones/SS big hitter that has some coverage skills 4-4 Nathan Peterman/QB has some NFL skills, has been compared to Cousins by some scouts. 4-11 Derek Rivers/OLB big time small college player 5-1 Ryan Glasgow/DT a steady run defender 5-4 Josh Reynonds/WR big WR with good hands 7-3 Zane Gonzalez/K finally a worthy Gould replacement.
-
Love that draft with either of those two prospects. I actually like Kittle better than Leggett but so close ,it wouldnt matter.
-
O J Howard, I think he is a prime time player, and because he is not slated a top 5, I think he is one of the top 5 players that will come out of this draft. If anybody had the chance to draft Gronk in his prime, he would be worth a #1 pick.

The problem with taking a ILB on any picks, we have to many other holes to fill. OT could use an upgrade there WR add another playmaker with Jeffery gone TE in a run first offense, a great TE would be huge QB , yes but not high OLB we can always use pass rushers DL could use one more stud there S and CB are no brainers. So that is 8 positions we could upgrade with only 7 picks.
-
I seriously dont see any of the top 4 QBs being studs in the NFL. Trubisky probably becomes a Cousins type. Of which doesnt merrit a #3 pick. If you grab a Peterman, who also has been compared to Cousins , as a 4th round pick, I would be happy with that. Others with some upside, Joshua Dobbs and Jerod Evans. There is less chance any of these hit, so we might as well grab a all pro type player in the first round. If all the injuries questions on some players are good, I would say our choose would be one of these 3, Allen-Adams-Hooker. The more I read about Thomas the more I dont see him being a difference maker, but a good player.
-
we wont be drafting a ILB, unless Foster slips to the 4th and we just say freak and draft him. OLB may be drafted but that is an edge rusher type in this defense.
-
There is no rumors we are going to need a ILB that is just people that dont know what there talking about pretending to know what there talking about. Other than OG,OC ILB is the least of our worries. We have 7 picks, in those picks there will be a QB, 1 DL-1 S-1 CB-1-TE-1 WR and hopefully a OT or K but no where a ILB.

In the first round taking a QB, as much as we want a good one, I do not see any of these QBs being anymore than than Journyman. In the second taking a undesize player like a Hassam Reddick/ OLB In the third a reach type player. like a Rausl Douglas/CB that is a 4th or 5th round type.
-
Of course, professional scouts are 50% on first round prospects, but some are smarter than others and I lean with the group that states no QB is good enough to take top 15. As later in the back of the first and second round is where you take risky QBs.
-
That is the best article I have seen on QBs. It shows me all the QBs are big question marks, Trubisky seems to have the most upside, but doesnt sound worthy of a high pick. If Kirk Cousins was in this draft would you view him as the 3rd overall pick? In his draft,I think he was a 4th rounder. All of this tells me, there is to much risk with any of them to view as worth 3.

Another thing to consider is A.J. McCarron, nad Jimmy G. will also be available, the cupboard is not bare.
-
He is not rated high, its just people trying to make something out of nothing. They will be over drafted, not because of value but because their QBs.
-
I think we will not draft a QB at 3 because Pace says he will take the BPA at that spot and no QB has that value. I thiink Allen is still one of the top 5 players in this draft, and even though he has some arthritis in his shoulders, it will not affect him until later in his life. I also have changed my mind on Adams who I originally wanted, he is a very good player and leader but as many scouts have stated , he is not a special player. Hooker is a special player and if the medical reports are favorable, would think they consider him. Also Lattimore is a high end CB that if his medicals pan out would be worthy of that pick.
-
IF they value a QB for that high of a pick, then they have to take them, but you have to go off of your own evaluation, everybody is all over the place on true value of QBs in this years draft.
-
The value of a top 5 pick is generally QB, LT, edge rusher. Thomas and Allen fill the role of edge rusher, no QBs or LTs are of high value enough to be worthy of that #3 pick. If we draft a S that high , he would need to be special. I heard a interesting podcast with Greg Gabriel on it. He stated on good a player Adams is and a great leader, but said he did not have special traits. He stated that if the medicals turn out okay for Hooker that he is a special player and would be more valued at #3. He also stated that even if you overdraft a QB, none truly have the value of a top 10 status. The best teams also draft the BPA players no matter what the need, so if you one of these QBs could turn out to be a starter, then you have to assign a risk factor to them. So if you grab a developmental QB in 2 or 3 or take a 50/50% risk factor at #3, which puts you closer to a SB? I guess that is the question Pace must answer. Is it better to have an all pro DE or S? Or draft a QB that turns out like Cristian Ponder or Jake Looker, or on the upside a Bartels? If they view a QB with enough upside to take at 3, then you take them, if not draft the BPA, period. I have always thought of Thomas or Adams would be our best choices that high but have since changed my mind. I have been reading a lot about them and listened to many podcasts and both of them have to many questions on them to draft that high. The two answers that keep coming from most of these experts is Allen and Hooker are special players worthy of drafting at #3. So they have to answer the question of that their medicals will be okay, then you have to draft one of them. If not you take a safer bet like Adams. So the question remains is there any QB that they view will be at least a mid level type of QB upside? ( I do not believe that any of these QBs are of top 10 upside in this draft) So Tribisky has been compared to Romo and Cousins the most. They just have to view what player gives them the most value at #3, it has to be a special player, or average QB, that is the question they will answer in two weeks. My take on what happens: I think someone values the QB a great deal to take a risk and trades up with us to get one of the QBs. I believe that will be Cleveland, so we get their #12 - 33-65 and 145 At 12, I have a sneaky suspicion that Allen is the one that slips in this draft and we could still grab him at 12. At 33 we grab a Budda Baker/S and then at 65 grab a Zay Jones or Quincy Wilson this way we could get one stud and 3 potential starters out of one pick that has a high risk of failure
-
I think they throwing darts and maybe suspect one of those two will rise up to the occasion. Obviously they would like both to excel but odds are that wont happen. I think in the 3rd or 4th if one WR is there they like a lot, they will be drafting him. No reason to not get younger guys in the loop and let it shake out.
-
I agree , our choice will be one of them, but if there is a surprise pick, it may be Howard at #3 or in a move down.
-
When you have a Elliot, or a Julio Jones, the best players become the best chest piece on any offense. With a team without a #1 WR he would be very impactful for the offense. Howard could becomes a viable choice if you are taking the BPA when you question other high pick choices.
