Actually Weems make more plays in a season than Hester did, but think Weems is over paid.
-
I agree they paid him like a top WR, so he should want to be here for a song.
-
I think there going behind the columns. They might be a little cheaper there.
-
Not to change the subject but I just went over 3000 on here, Im trying to catch the guys in front of me but they keep having opinions.
-
You have a good plan, just hope it works out that way.
-
I like him but in that year he had 9 sacks. I agree there is more to it, but look at the top DEs they are mainly measured by sacks. PFF is only what the elite fans judge by.
-
To be honest, Emery just does not do things, as we see them, he has a plan, will sit back and be surprised.
-
I would love for you to be right, but we arent running a football team, we just have opinions. I am trying to state what I think Emery will do. Leftovers get vet min.
-
Are you assuming Melton is back? I think if M,R, and Collins are there we only bring in one draft pick and a vet min.
-
Conte actually played well in 2012, because the rest of the defense played at a higher level. His played looked worst when he was put in a different place. We can not rebuild the defense in one year so need a better player to rise above that.
-
When you go splash in FAgency , you overpay for talent you missed on in draft. The draft is the place to make a splash. Your math on all your stating sounds good, but suspect it doesnt translate exactly as you state. We have large number of players to add, just not 6 to 8. I am all in on your criteria, but dont think the Bears will do it that way. We are strapped because of the large number of players we need to add.
-
An article in NFL Mocks website had an article talking about the Bears making many 2nd tier players instead of a couple big names I think this is more on FAgency pans out instead of the Byrds and Bennetts. http://nflmocks.com/2014/03/04/chicago-bea...fl-free-agency/

I think top 10 players being there would definitely change our pick. Emery's board may look much different than the consensus opinion.
-
I hope your right, I think he would be the BAP for FA defensive end, would love him to be here. Just not seeing Phil on board with that much money.
-
I think the only way they dip into Cutler money is a last resort, and with your scenario, leaving Morgan and Blake out takes care of that. I think you put together a good arrangement but just dont think Phil we go big with Bennett, and going after Morgan, although after reading about him, may have some upside.
-
The question is when he gets mucho snaps does that make him a stud or does he just look good. He had a hell of a defense he played with, he wasnt the OLs focus. Here he would be the man.The most he has had in a full season is 9, to me that doesnt seem worth the contract you suggested in the other post. A good player, for sure, a star, I dont seem getting a whole lot better. I want him to come here but dont think Emery will be willing to pay that much for him.
-
I think your right about the called back play I think this is just his opinion, our local team writers have a better sense to this that Rapoport.
-
As much as you were detail oriented, we wont be dipping into Cutlers contract(defeats the purpose of doing it) if Bennett is that expensive, he wont be here(I would like him here, just dont see Phil spending that much on him) we wont be bringing in Joe Morgan, we have Wilson and several options with future contracts(think Cris Williams) if they play with the cap money and wait to cut Peppers we can add another 4 1/2 mil to the pie I dont think they will give 5 mil to McCown( to much money tied up in QBs, they will find another McCown type to fill the spot) I like your names but would prefer Stevie Brown to Husain I prefer other Ss before I would get to Brooks--- Bucannon,Reynolds, and Bailey You did a good job with this, but suspect things will fall different, Phil is full of surprises
-
TT doesnt like anybody, so dont let his opinion bother you.

Here is the lasted Mock draft from GBND site that are run by ex scouts. http://www.gbnreport.com/3-roundprojection.html This isnt the most mass information type site like a Walters, or Draft Tex, but do like what they have to say.
-
Since the best draft teams take the BPA regardless of position. What if? one of the 3 OTs fall to us-Robinson-Mathews-Lewan (getting a top 10 LT that would move Bushrod to the right side, cant be all bad for a improving OL) What if? Barr or Mack drop to us- they are both 3-4 OLBers.( consistent top10 players that can rush the QB but are strictly 3-4 backers) What if? Watkins or Evans drops to us( these are elite type WRs and not sure we could pass them up) I would not like to consider any of those possibilities, but one of those situations could come up. I would think someone would be willing to give us lots of draft picks to grab one of those top 10 type players. That would be my choice and then address the D with those picks. What say you
-
Here is a latest mock from NFL Mocks. It doesnt address the DT spot quick enough but if we resign Melton, Ratliff, and another FA Dt this draft would work. http://nflmocks.com/2014/03/03/chicago-bea...2014-nfl-draft/

No way they pay Bennett 10 mil to come here. Peppers was effective in 3 and a half games and had the same number of sacks. If his price is driven up, we are out. I hope we can get him done at a contract of 3 years 25 mil with 5 going against the cap this year. We absolutely need a good DE coming out of the FAgency period. We have nothing at DE when we release Peppers. If we designate him for the June 1 release it will 14 mil in available cap space.

How does Palmer not fall in the same position that Josh was in? Josh had more games played, but both guys have had lackluster careers. His last college football season, Jordan had 67% ,3500 yards and 26 TDs. He has some ability and there is a reason he keeps hanging around our team. I think he gets his shot at role #2.
-
The littles guys I suggest arent replacing Bushes role, but filling a different one. I think this role could get 10-15 plays a game and takes some of the wear off of Forte. The big back theory hasnt worked, I would rather have Forte at the goal line. We still have a fullback on the roster, and give him some of those carries in short runs.
