  1. I think being his desire to be a head coach, and us starting over fresh, we are doing him a favor.
  2. Bush started well and then faded, hopefully a offense will give him a place to contribute.
  3. We can bet some one other than Long, trusting a rookie coming in and be very good is short sightedness. He may be better in the long run, but we need someone good now not 2 years from now. Look at this year and there are only a few OL that had a marginial impact, Kalil, Schwarzt, Ziegler,Silatolu. 3 of them were high draft picks. We may get lucky and grab one at 20 that can start, but may be asking too much.
  4. First to resign all the players we want back and roster spots that will eat up 10 mil. then you have to do the things you suggest to get some money free, no way we have enough to buy Albert at possible 12 mil. do the math, or we can pretend because it sounds better. I like your ideas just dont think its realistic
  5. I have goggled the Salary cap and the only 3 refers to the cap is 13.3mil,14,4mil and 4.2mil. None of that sounds like enough to me. As I find out more information, I will post it.
  6. I heard on the Score today that interviewing Singletary was a favor to George McCaskey. Singletary called the Bears and asked to interview.
  7. the money has to come from somewhere. If we have 18 mil cap space, subtract our guys we resign and then what do you have to sign FAgents. Everybody thinks we have unlimited funds to sign anybody, realistically we just dont.
  8. ND got exposed, probably the 4th best team in the country. Teo sure didnt show up on the big stage, but will be a starter in the NFL just not a stud. One of those OLs will be there at our pick and would have no problem with any of them. There were all men among boys last nite.
  9. He already has he coach picked out, now he is on a fact finding mission surfing the NFL picking brains on his team. Why not.
  10. good job, you off work or something, you seem to have a lot of free time;
  11. What do you think Melton will be paid? He thinks he is the best in the league and wants to 10 mil range. So I would say he will at least get 5-6. that blows that 18m you just tried to get your 3 FAs with. We have lots of spots to fill, and even if they come cheap, that will add to the burden.
  12. Teams change players positions all the time, you cant fault a coaching staff trying to put a player in the best position to be successful. Williams wasnt any good, how much playing time did he do after he left? If your a good player you play, not get shifted around because you cant do the job. He sucked. Garza will be the center until he is replaced.

The list includes RTs of which loadholt is. It apparently includes some OGs so not a well done list, but gives you some names to look at.
  14. Emery gets a lot of input about his players talking to all this choices and sharing there ideas. I like what his doing because he seems to have a plan.

Its not my list , pulled it off a website, didnt notice Mannelly on there, and was just throwing some names out there. NFL Trade Rumors, I think
  16. I like all that, the only thing I question is having enough money to resign Melton and pickup 3 FAgents. Melton will want a big pay check and that limits the other choices.
  17. Actually that was a different site, I think it was NFL Trade Rumors, I visited so many today, I would have to verify that.
  18. We have to resign Scott, he is not under contract. So we need to sign him, Actually Beatty is rated lower than Webb on one site I looked at and think we can do better. I think we should go after Bushrod/NO which will be more money but not Jake Long money. Then we need to sign a LG in FAgency, trusting a rookie to be consistent quality might be asking to much.

heres the list of FA OT:Offensive Tackles: there are 5 left tackles rated better than Webb on that list. Svitek-McKinnie-Albriet-Bushrod-LOng-and a few we know are better, but not rated as high. All of them wont break the bank. Lets target one and go for it. D’Anthony Batiste – ARI Pat McQuistan – ARI Sam Baker – ATL Will Svitek – ATL Ramon Harewood – BAL – (RFA) Bryant McKinnie – BAL Colin Brown – BUF – (RFA) Jeremy Bridges – CAR Patrick Mannelly – CHI Jonathan Scott – CHI Dennis Roland – CIN Andre Smith – CIN Chris Clark – DEN – (RFA) Ryan Clady – DEN Jason Fox – DET – (RFA) Gosder Cherilus – DET Corey Hilliard – DET Andrew Gardner – HOU – (RFA) Rashad Butler – HOU Ryan Harris – HOU Jeff Linkenbach – IND – (RFA) Winston Justice – IND Eben Britton – JAC Branden Albert – KC Jake Long – MIA Phil Loadholt – MIN Geoff Schwartz – MIN Sebastian Vollmer – NE Jermon Bushrod – NO Will Beatty – NYG Sean Locklear – NYG Austin Howard – NYJ – (RFA) Jason Smith – NYJ Zach Hurd – OAK – (Ex) Khalif Barnes – OAK King Dunlap – PHI Max Starks – PIT Frank Omiyale – SEA Barry Richardson – STL Robert Turner – STL Jeremy Trueblood – TB Jordan Black – WAS Tyler Polumbus – WAS
  20. I think somebody else made the limit of 12 not Emery, but he has time to interview those guys and end of the week bring in the finailist. After thrusdays of the week coaches can still take about jobs. McCoy could get hired next weekend and be allowed to finish to the Super Bowl.
  21. thanks, Gruden aint even getting interviewed, so dont think thats happening
  22. I like most of what you said BUT we wont be changing to the 3-4, it will take to many personal changes to make that work. Emery said the new guy will be working with the talent we have on defense. Beatty would be ok, but a 2nd rounderLG making an impact is slim at best. I think we need to just go out and two proven OL, no matter who there are and fix it now instead of a work in progress. Im telling you here Cutler wont last if he keeps taking hits as he has. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Peppers

good work put into this response, I dont want to get rid of Peppers, but if we are rebuilding the OLine, we need more money. Most people think we can just sign people. We have a lot of roster spots to fill and even if most come cheap, we need more space to sign a stud OL. I just trying to figure a way of doing it. If we can restructure it thats fine, just need some way to address our needs. I think this year is critical to straight out the OLine. If Cutler keeps takes hits at the rate its going, he wont be worth a shit going forward. Then we will be bad on both sides of the ball. Lets get strong on the offense and rebuild the defense. Living in LaLa land that everything can be addressed in the draft is dreaming. If we can get a stud OL, and we need at least two,a TE, a MLB, in the draft that would be great, but dont see that as realistic.

His salary is 12333,000 and cap hit 4 million more. If he gets traded, frees up 12333,000. In order for us to be able to sign good players we need more money under cap.
