Add a new name to list, that would Hou OC Dennison, worked with Culter and Marshall, otherwise dont know to much. Emery said he would stop at 12 and ask for 2nd interview for two guys. I think Dennison will make 12, but not that good at math.
-
I think I am not on the same page as you, I thought because I stated McCoy you were refering to him, havent figured out who you talking about.
-
All of that sounds reasonable except after we resign our own players, wont have enough money for a big FA signing, as Jake Long would be. The reason Miami will not try to resign is because the price will be to high. Thats why I put Peppers out to give us enough money to sign FAs on the Oline and a TE. I think Urlacher will wont to much money to come back, so dont think that he will be back. I like Airians, but think Emery will go a little younger bringing a guy in.
-
I dont care if he is an asshole, but what about his resume that makes him a bad choice?
-
I was trying to be realistic, what did it cost for one of the best WRs in the league under 30 years old, 2-3ths. I dont think we get much more out of him, The teams in the playoffs that might be looking for the one guy to get them over the top next year dont have a lot of cap space. So made that statement because of it
-
if you dont like mccoy then who? Reconstruction of contacts is to make the cap more friendly to sign some offensive linemen, give thrm a couple more years and spread the money I am trying to think out of the box here. He is our best defensive player, but we need the money to sign OLmen in FAgency, and I will be willing to bet if we dont cut money no big signnings will be coming here Urlacher will be gone, he will want to be paid and he is on a road to injuries every year. The whole idea of this post was to move forward, get the OL help we need and continue to build an offense, and try to retool defense in the meantime. New Orleans is way over cap and dont see them being able to get out of that in one year. Fill our needs in FAgency and draft to fill spots on defense. Robinson is a wild card, a high end talent to add to the mix at a 4th round pick, this is where you take chances. He has speed and could use him as a read option player to add the offense.
-
Since Jason brought it up could probably get a third for Peppers(as far as trading instead of cutting) so I need to add Trade Peppers for a third and in that round pick up OLB Hodges/PSU we added needed LB depth to eventually replace Briggs Also note, I forgot to mention, we also cut Hester-time to go
-
actually never gave that a thought about a trade, I would say at his age and salary, probably a third but that gives us the one back we gave to Miami
-
ok, so lets see what you got
-
his salary will be about 12333000, around there, and that salary goes away, you take around a 4 million cap hit, but it frees up that money to get some Oline upgrades.
-
I sign Mike McCoy as the new HC I resign Melton,Roach,Louis,McGown. and Izzy to a one year contract I resturcture Tillman and Marshalls contract I cut J. Peppers due to his 12 million due this year,Spaeth, Kellen Davis In FAgency I sign Bushrod/LT/NO- Saints are way over salary cap so more likey to complete a deal. Levitre/LG/Buff- Young and up and coming Cook/TE/Tenn-ready to breakout In the draft #1 Ansah/DE/BYU to replace Peppers spot #2 Mitner/MLB/LSU Urlachers spot, starts from day one #4 Denard Robinson/WR/Mich Make him a Percy Harvin type WR-speed #5 Cave/OC/ND Garzas eventual replacement #6 Clement/TE/LSU blocking TE to replace Spaeth #7 Brown/QB/Ill State
-
Totally agree
-
there is no way we will be filling 5 new spots so you figure Garza will be back,(need to draft his replacement) Louis at RG, RT? We need to get a LT in Fagency, and draft a LG in the draft.
-
These 3 names seem to be the leaders Arians,Sullivan and McCoy, we all want we think are good, but Emery with have more time in that process to figure it out. I think he already has it figured out and just going through the process. Sullivan is intriguing, the more I read about him. He is the only one that didnt have a stud QB to deal with and had some success. Ex military like Emery and a good leader. Was in NY with Eli and helped him be a better QB and now that he isnt there, Eli isnt doing so good.
-
that would be great, but think we need one FA and two draft picks, we no longer can take a lackluster appoach to this anymore. We know what we would be getting in FAgency so we have to get the LT and then a OG an OC in the draft. Let a center prospect sit behind Garza for a year so he is in place when hes done.
-
I think we need to concentrate on offense. OLs, TE, speedy WR before we go defense. Sign Urlacher for a friendly contract for a year, and draft a LB in the 4th or 5th and hope you can develope him. I think we can get a TE in FAgency as there are a few decent choices. So that could change the draft. one of the first two need to be OLs even if we get a LT in Fagency. A speedy wideout, would dramaically change how defenses play us. Imagine a deep threat that can actually catch, with Marshall, Jeffery, a decent TE and Forte out of the backfield. That would be a tough match up.
-
Why wont Louis be back? He was our most reliable OL until his injury. I think we need to get a LT in FAgency as there will be some choices. We also need to drat at least 2 OLs to add to the mix.
-
I listen to the score all day and one guy stated that his contact works for the Bears and Emery has the guy he wants picked out already but is going thru the process to see if anybody knocks his socks off. I suspect it be McCoy since he is talking to him on the weekend as he shifts thru canidates and cant sign him until after the playoffs.
-
Since Arians is in the picture, I would like him at 1, then McCoy at two. I dont really like the rest all that much. Carmichael run the Saints this year, and that didnt go so good. Clements doenst call the plays in GB, McCarthy does. The rest are to much to get excited about.
-
He was there for two weeks while Cutler got traded.
-
your right on with that, our space wont be that great after Melton is signed , he wants big money and will get some of it. you have to leave some money for rookies, probably enough to sign one good player, and a couple of 2nd tier ones.
-
No way any of them are coming here. Gruden would be nice, but is waiting for a certain job and it isnt the Bears. Holmgren wont be getting hired here, he always wants control of everything and his age comes into play. Reid is a good coach, but not who Emery will be looking at. Mark my words none of them will be interviewing here, and Im fine with that.
-
Drafts cant be judged for at least 2 and more realistically 3 years. Emery got thrown in to it last year with Lovies influence. Lets see what he does with a better perspective this year.
-
Well much better to move forward than sideways every year. Time for a change and had the same needs whether Lovie was here or not. At least a fresh start could give us some offense. Like score some points. I dont know how Emery will do going forward, but one thing is for sure, he will take responsibly for he. No more holier than thou attitudes around here.
-
That all sounds good but Warmack will be gone by the 4th and Eifert way before that, he is the 2nd rated TE in draft.
