  1. I wanted him in a big way, but I think it is a high reward but a high risk. He will command the most money out of all the WRs left, so maybe shoot for Colston for a couple of mil less a year, leaving us room to grab others.
  2. I hear he has already talked to the Jets.
  3. In his Saints workout he declined to run the 40. So me think speed might not be there if his tryout doesnt include a sprint.
  4. It would be best to leave the tag, and do it again next year then move on to younger legs.
  5. I dont think Know will make it out of training camp, Sanz will be cut, Hester as the special play guy. I think Royal is a risk but upside potential and cheap. I think they will need to address the WR spot in a big way, because we have played games there and how long will Culter stay if we keep playing Russian Roulette with the same old group. Also a TE that had good days in Oakland but was hurt in Sea., and two new OL to put in the mix to try to get it right.
  6. It is getting close to the start of free agency, so lets put it down in a post what we think we will get. I am assuming after Forte we have 22 mil of cap space. rookie pool- 5 mil signing our own free agents-6 to 8 mil Bell,Idonije(DT), Stelz,Jennings,Graham,Okoye L. Robinson/WR/Dal Porter/CB/NO Carlson/TE/Sea Bell/LT/Buf Royal/WR/Den This is not what I prefer but what I think the way they may go as far as positions and players. That leaves us in need a WR,DE, CB,LB,OL, so with this as a start we draft. #1 Mercilus/DE/Ill #2 Randle/WR/LSU #3a Norman/CB/CC #3b Carder/ILB/TCU #4 Jones/OC/Geor #5 Egnew/TE/Miss
  7. He had some injury games in the last two years or his stats would have been among the best in the league.
  8. He would be a good second round pickup, but we still need to bring in a couple of FAs to compete this year. Rarely do rookie WRs have big years out of the blocks.
  9. I agree with that logic, I dont think Know will play football again, Hester is a special play guy. I would prefer someone else that can be here the length of time Cutler is here. A younger guy. Now if we fall on our face trying to get a #1, then sure, but not our first option for the off season.
  10. Ideally it would be Orton, but he will cost you 3 to 4 mil. I dont think we will ty that money up with the back up QB with all our needs. I think we will resign McGown, and have a late round draft pick as third guy.
  11. Just because they are interested in signing him doesnt make him great. With Brees he would put up good numbers, but pay attention if somewhere during the year he becomes a head ache. NO has several WR options, we dont. They have a great TE, we dont. It will be easier for him to be better there than he would for us.
  12. He is not the studs that A. Johnson, C Johnson, or Fritz but he is a top 10 WR, top 5 in y per catch, tied for 5th in TD passes. I look at great WR over there years, not just one year.
  13. According to PFT there is a possiblity that SH could be a cap hit. Old , but could he be Ruben Brown?
  14. His cap hit this year is 11.2 mill according to Spotrac. com a stats website. I dont see the Bears tying up 25 to 28 mil at one position. thats almost 25% of the cap for 2 players at DE and with Culters contract coming up in 2014 that wont happen. It all sounds good but the fact is one big contract and 2 or 3 fringe players. Of course if we have 46 mill in cap space then we can have both and Nicks.
  15. I dont think NE will go after a big pos type WR, I think they need someone to go vertical with. They have 2 1st round picks and Wallace is sitting there for one of them, which also hurts Pitt. they have the TEs and Welker, so they will go after Wallace. SF could be a tougher foe to deal with. He is going to a very good team and it is still the West Coast, where he lives.

I think Collins would be a inexpensive option to add to the mix. I think Jackson will have be money thrown at him, so go after Colston out of the blocks and not waste time trying to talk to Jackson. As an second choice, go after Laurent Robinson, and then would still have to draft a guy in 1st or 2nd. I think we need to add a 2nd tier guy in FAgency also, someone along the lines of Royal, or Dourcet.
  17. a.j. jenkins will be picked before mcnutt, and mcnutt could be gotten a couple of picks later
  18. I would prefer a #1 draft pick for the LT spot, but adding Collins just gives you another option as an upgrade. If we add an OL in FAgency and a high draft pick at least we dont fall in the same pattern of (they will get better) for Webb and even Williams. All I want is some options if something doesnt pan out what ever direction they go in.
  19. actually Collins may be a good cheap addition. The difference between him and Frank is now we have Tice expertise involved and if they go after him, I have more faith in the judgement now. According to p ff he has faired quite well. i

Nicks wants 5/60, and Williams is going to get 90 mil., so I fear we wont be getting either one. We could afford Nicks but that is what Jackson will be signing for and think that would be better spent on him.

That would be awesome, but the only way we could spend that kind of money on 2 FAs is if we didnt franchise Forte and used his money, but to late now.
  22. Talent wise, he may be better than a rookie, but his payday will be so much more going forward and that would be cost prohibited. The problem with all FAs is you have to over pay there valve, and with so many holes we have to be smart with spending money.Look what SF did last year, they did a good job in FAgency with valve.
  23. He was talking to me, just made the statement when he responded to your post.
  24. I have been investigating your stupid statement and it is not stupid at all. The Giants could easily make that trade, but I checked it out and you cant use a traded pick to repay for a restricted free agent, if you dont have your own , you couldnt sign Wallace. I would still make that trade for Osi. The Giants have issues and Osi wants a new contract. They have great depth at DE and could elect to get rid of the problem with Osi looking to holdout this training camp. He is making 4.5 and still wants a bigger contract, so maybe the money would be to much to. I should have checked it out before I poo-poo your statement, it actually was a good call, except for Wallace that cant happen if we make the trade.
  25. I agree he isnt worth a long term deal, but Williams is going to get a 90 to 100 mil deal and the Bears wont do that with Peppers deal still on the table. Jackson can be gotten without getting rid of Forte. The best thing is to franchise him and determine next year his value going forward. We will not be getting 2 high proflie FAs, we dont have enough cap space. Jackson? and 2 or 3 fringe players is the best that we can do. Anything else is just a dream.
