Rosenthal/PFT thinks we should be still looking for OL help
Martz says we still need to add a couple of FA O lineman. The problem is with that is who is left?
-
Bryant McKinney released
Do we have any takers? I hear he came to camp overweight. He played for Tice, and I can see bringing him in to take Omiyale place as the swing tackle and get him into shape. He is 32 years old as per article I read.
-
Offensive Line
I think this will be the lineup on opening day. LT-Webb LG-Spencer C-Garza RG-Louis RT-Carmi I hear Tice really likes Louis and will give him the chance to start on right side. I already hear Carmi is practicing on the right side.

Angelo is a moron
I think we would be better off if he wasnt around anymore. He is lousy at drafting but has had moments at FAgency. We cant live in the past, so we have to look at this years draft and I think that looks good on paper. He has brought in lots of bodies so we will have to see how that pans out.

Indy Colts CB Hayden
I dont hear of people Beating down Haydens door, so may be a strong possiblity. If Jennings is our starter again, we are in trouble.
-
Offensive Line
there are going to move Carimi to RT and Webb to LT. With no offseason I hope Culter has been taking steroids, because he will need it.
-
Here is what is needed
Our whole line was a turnstile. Light isnt in his prime but is better than anybody we have now. I just dont want to see Culter beat up again. We need some options in the line. Standing pat and 4 games into the season seeing it isnt working, just wont pass.

Following the trend of Cowgirls
I hope they are not counting on Cris Williams to be a stud on the o-line. I think he is a bust. We have Spencer , that on the field will be an upgrade. I would think Carmi on the right side will merit an upgrade after a few games. But Webb isnt ready for the LT spot yet, Garza can probably be average at RG, but we need a LG.

Bears sign former Seahawks C Chris Spencer
We have spencer and will bring along Linnerholm who is our center of the future, I would say we are set there for the next 8 years.
-
Bears sign former Seahawks C Chris Spencer
I would say they probably paid Spencer for two years what Olin wanted for this year.
-
Here is what is needed
Carmi being a rookie on a short offseason probably not going to happen right at the start. They talked about moving him to RT. So I agree sign Blalock and pick up Matt Light for a stop gap at LT and bring Webb along.

Bears sign former Seahawks C Chris Spencer
I will need to read more about him, but was a first round pick.
-
Thank you Olin
This time comes in every players career, thought it would be a year from now, but its today. The only thing I worry about is not his play level, that was falling, but his leadership replacement.
-
Bears sign former Seahawks C Chris Spencer
Well at least he is a average center, better than trying to move someone from another position.

cap space available
The best I can tell the new players will cost 13 million this year. We got rid of Olsen, Malaumaa, with Taylor and Harrison to follow. That will add 6. 75 million back in the pool. We pay Kreutz 4.5 and figure the new contract of Forte will cost around 5 to 7 this year. The rookies will cost around 7 mill. So the best I can figure we still have 10 to 12 mill spend this year. I think we can get Kelvin Hayden/cb, Dockery/OG, Jamal Brown/OT and Matt Roth/olb with the remainder of the cap. I suspect that if we do sign a couple more OL that we could cut Williams and maybe a guard Louis and save another 1.6 mil.

Defensive Line Depth Chart
Gilbert has been gone for awhile now, and Harrison will soon join him. DTs will be Paea, Adams, Okoye, Toeina, Melton DEs will be Peppers, Gohlsten, Wooten, Izzy

We haven't remedied one are of need
I think we still have alot of money left and Blaylock, Walters, Davis are still out there for guard. Matt light, Jamal Brown, Ryan Harris are still there for the OT spot. CBs still left are Cromartie, Hayden, Rodgers, Lito Sheppard. OLBs still left Lawson, Leber, and Roth.
-
Our new depth
We have to say things have been interesting so far. These are new players that could impact our roster. Now we need to add a couple of OLs and a cornerback and this could be an interesting year. Resigned Hanie/qb-rookie Enderle/qb Marion Barber/rb Hurd/WR-Williams/WR-Fantuz/WR Spaeth/TE-Smith/TE rookie Linnerholm/OC rookie Guards 000000000000000000 Carmi/OT rookie Podlesh/P Gholstein/DE Paea/DT rookie-Okeye/DT-Adams/DT resigned Roach/OLB resigned-Thomas/OLB rookie-DeCicco/LB rookie Harris/CB resigned-Bryan/CB rookie

Marion Barber signs with Bears
This is quite a great move. Now cut Taylor, and have a goal line guy in place.
-
A needed perspective
Dont you think all these cheap pickups may mean we have lots of money to pay a couple of OL , CB, and Kruetz.
-
A needed perspective
I look at all the moves the Bears make and shake my head. Nothing spetacular, but at least they have did something and arent done yet. I think they had a good draft, if they get Kueutz back will be an ok FAgency. The thing I need to realize is WITH a bad offensive line, poor WRs, and a sprint to put able bodies in the secondary, they still made it to the NFC title game. I have to say I need to be a little more positive about their stupidity.

Roy Williams a Bear!
They paid Williams 1.5-2.0 million for one year. For him to take that, I assume he wants to prove people wrong , have a big year, and get a big contract and then suck again. Hey one year is better than nothing.
-
Rams OG Jacob Bell
He is better than what we have, so bring him in.
-
Roy Williams a Bear!
I think you would have to say he is a #1 WR if he plays like he did in Detroit, or a piece of crap if he plays like he did in Dallas. The problem is who we get? He has Drake and Martz here, and is considered the go to guy, that is a good comfort zone for him. It is a low risk trial, but the problem is we wont be getting anybody else because of this move. He now is the best WR we have so we can only hope he works out.
-
SIms-Walker to RAMs
What we are doing is taking cheap risks with who we pick up. That is find, some will work out and most wont, but we can not freak up taking chances with the OL. Focus on a couple of upgrades on the line and just get them. I would like Light/NE/OT for a stop gap at LT until our tackles are ready, and grab a Blaylock, Bell, maybe even a Nicks. You have to look at it this way, with all these inexpensive signings, maybe we can pay a big salary to a OL to get in here.
