  1. Not sure how you can say Cutler didn't play well. He should have had 3 TD's at a minimum and 1 pick (which was on him). He got rid of the ball quickly, made good reads, etc. Missed a couple passes but if you take away the umteen drops, he's got a lot of yardage, td's, etc. What really irks me is that the team drives the ball and then gets stupid penalty. Outside of the dropped TD's, there were situations in which they should have had points but took themselves out (or had to punt because Gould was out).
  2. Its real simple. They either win and get in the playoffs, in which case he stays, or they don't get in, in which case he goes.
  3. What were you watching. Had Alshon not fallen its either a completion or an incomplete. Even the other pick, he threw to an open guy, just floated it (and that is on him). He made good, quick reads. Not much more he can do when they are dropping everything.
  4. I've said for a long long time that they are garbage and it is holding up. Two straight weeks where the Bears incompetence cost them big-time. 3 dropped td passes in 2 games and then Alshon slipping was very costly. Cutler had 1 pick (and really about 2 bad throws). He did his job.
  5. Coming from the guy who always wants to go for the kill, I find it shocking you weren't for the move and aren't aware of all the saber stats out there which completely unequivocally call this a no-brainer.. Staticians have shown that 4th and short early in the game is a complete and utter statistical no brainer of a move. Chip Kelly uses it with regularity at Oregon and Belliceck uses it often in New England. They've seen the data and anlaysis and know that not going for it leaves more points on the table then kicking the field goal in that situation. Nother story if it is final few minutes of the game or the FG ties it, but at that point in the game, that was absolutely the right decision.
  6. The play calling was very good today. Bears had a lot of quick passes and took advantage of them. They did leave points on the board but that was due to execution (dropped TD by a concussed Bennett and not getting the job down on 4th and short). And thats a 4th down I tip my cap to the Bears for going for it. They have a back that was signed for short yardage and he has been excellent all year in it. From a statistical perspective, its a no brainer to go for it and the Bears just didn't execute that time.
  7. Injuries are just mounting up. Oline down, wide receivers down, starting MLB down, Tillman slowed with ankle injury and now Jennings out for a while.
  8. I doubt Sims Walker would make much of an impact and long-term he isn't an answer. Bears have to hope Alshon develops as they don't have anyone else on the roster capable of being a #2. Bennett has taken major steps back this year (not sure why but he isn't getting targets and I'm assuming its because he's not open) while Hester is what he is (and he's not going to be a Bear at the end of the year).
  9. This is a need position. I think teams have realized you can give the Bears fits with a running QB (this was never previously the case). Now maybe we just didn't have much film on Colin and weren't prepared for Russel to run this much, but two teams have exploited that kind of QB option on us. And it is hard to say that Seattle exploited it, given that they had very few points up until the final 2 drives of the game, but dang, to let them go 2 straight TD drives (one being 97 yards), its just pathetic. Wilson was fantastic in those drives though so I definitely tip my cap. He made some plays but I don't know what the heck the Bears line was doing. It was like they didn't know how to do a contained rush.

    Cutler

Agree. We need to spend some money on an athletic linebacker and some olinemen.
  11. Damn, torn ACL. Huge blow.
  12. What was the injury? Ah crap. That is awful.
  13. Nice win by the Bears today. Cutler very sharp in the 1st half!!! What a difference having Jay makes.
  14. Bad loss and lovie needs to fired if he doesnt make the postseason but I'm not writing this team off. That would be stupid. The d wasn't prepared and Colin was great. It happens in the nfl.
  15. They are worse. It's pathetic. That was awful on so many levels.
  16. I won't over react to one game. But I is dissapointing to get pants we especially after the bears failed to execute and beat the texans, whom they had out played had it non been for all those terrible turnovers.
  17. Bears need to win this. Really tough schedule coming up.
  18. Cutler really wasn't that bad all game. He had 2 sacks on back to back plays which I felt were on him (one being the fumble that led to the Panthers TD). Other then that, I thought he played pretty well. Missed a couple throws (including underthrowin the ball that was intercepted). However, he made a lot of good throws that were dropped for 1st downs (that were routine catches in this league). Those non-catches were huge as they prevented the team from continuing drives (and really prevented them from gaining momentum). Late in the game he came up huge though. Was real nice to see them get the ball to Earl.
  19. Get healthy Alshon and keep working out.
  20. Great win. Now its time to get back to business and focus on improving and getting ready for those Lions.
  21. The game against the Lions is going to be tough. Lions are going to have their backs against the wall and when on can put up some points.
  22. Webb has had two straight above average games. He's going to have some bad ones, but those were two games that he had in which I don't think Williams would be capable of. That said, he'll also have a couple stinkers which I don't think Williams would be capable of having.
