Okay dude. And I would compare Urlacher to non white MLB's. Not doing so is not fair to LB's of all colors. Urlacher is one of the best to ever play the game at his respected position. Lewis is better and they are different players but both are outstanding and they are the first two names I'd run out when I talk about modern day great linebackers. Back when Zach Thomas was a beast (in Miami), I never compared him to Urlacher cause of color. They were completely different football players. In terms of Shea, I'd compare his motor to a Jared Allen and maybe even his speed to a Rosie Colvin type of player.

Lets end this racial discussion. I compare guys based upon skill-sets, not color.
-
I'm starting to really like the pick. Seen a lot of scouts rave about this kid and a lot of people talking about him being a 10-12 sack per year guy. If thats the case, sign me up.
-
Part of the reason the Pats moved up, if you believe reports, is because they lost out on Shea and Jones was the only other guy that they liked which filled there need.
-
I've read a few people compare him to Jared Allen. Tons of speed and just a huge motor. He clearly needs to add some strength but New England and Green Bay were two of the teams that had fallen hard for him. I know the Pats have missed on some picks lately but those are two of the better scouting teams out there. I'm just going to sit back and hope Emery knows what he's doing. He's a great scout and hopefully he's right. Bears needed an end anyway and its always a bit of a crapshoot, I'm glad they got the right position (assuming they had Reiff as an RT, in which case, I'm fine they passed on him, if they graded him as an LT, then they should have taken him).
-
Bears drafted him as an end and Emery thinks he's a 3 down player. They weren't adding a LB, they are adding a DE. We might not agree with the pick but the Bears are picking him cause they think he's an every down DE who can be explosive.

Hayes or whatever his name was from the Bucs.

Bush starts on most teams. Brandon Marshall is a starter too, plus we signed a guy that is probably going to start at LB (and quite possibly a CB as well).
-
Guys don't move up 4 rounds in 5 days this close to the draft.
-
Did most have him in the 2nd? I know he was quoted as saying he didn't expect to be a 1st round pick. That said, why else would he have physically been in the audience?
-
No he wasn't. There were multiple teams who were looking at him at the end of the 1st.
-
Omg...Emery is talking about our 1st round picks ability to play ST's. Seriously, what the freak is that a consideration for. Lions get a good tackle in Reiff.
-
Awful Cleveland...just awful.
-
2nd fastest though. Personally it is a head scratcher but we will see. I do like the comparisons to Clay though.
-
I wouldn't compare a guy projected to go in the late 1st to Bazuin. I don't know a lot about him and I'd have rather moved down. Seems like a pretty good athlete with good measurables.
-
Didn't expect it. Interested to see how he will do as an end vs. the OLB. Not sure if I like this pick or not. I really liked Whitney.

Shea McClellin - DE - Boise S
-
I'm planning on being at the SF game.
-
This would be another solid pickup.
-
I probably wouldn't make any of those deals. We have an opportunity to add quite a few solid players and I'm fine with that. If I moved up, it would be to get the LT out of USC.
-
I think in many drafts some of these guys aren't first rounders. Martin, Reiff, and Adams have all had significant flaws. During workouts they have moved down in the draft and some question whether they can remain as LT's. Reiff is the guy I like most but he probably won't be there because too many teams need olineman so they will get taken. In a good tackle draft, these guys aren't going in the 1st round (or at least a few of them). It all comes down to the scouting and I don't know what to say. I haven't heard many people talk about these 3 as being potential above average LT's and if I'm using my 19th pick, I want to know my guy is being projected to be an above average LT (he doesn't have to be Pace or Boseli but he's got to be projected to be above average).
-
I completely agree with you on Adams and I'm confident our scouts will have done there homework. I expect them to go DE or Wideout early.
-
I'll tell you one thing. If I don't like the LT's and grade them out as 1st rounders, I'm not picking them just because its a need. I'll take my chances and pass cause I'm not wasting a first rounder on a guy that my scouts don't think will be good.
