http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,2225624.story Bucs have told him he won't be with them. Bears have had interest in him in the past.

Sweet. Not as nice given that guys really don't hold out anymore, but its still nice to be done.
-
Completely agree. Jeffrey has potential and looks nice, but he's still a rookie that has yet to play a game.

OT: Explain your username and how you became a Bears fan
DABEARSDABOMB replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Bearstalk
It was originally DABEARSSHRINE, which was led by Jeff (DAWEBMASTER). Part of the old rivals network (which crashed and burned and then started up again). When rivals went under, some people split off and had there own network and at that time, the site changed to Bearstalk.com. The Bearstalk domain was lost and at that point, TalkBears become the new domain, which is something that is now owned by us (vs. a 3rd party). -
I was surprised he fell so much and as an Iowa fan hope he does well. I think he'll have a shot to be a solid #3 wideout in this league.

ARE WE NOW JUST DELETING POSTS WE DON'T AGREE WITH?
DABEARSDABOMB replied to Lucky Luciano's topic in Bearstalk
I don't remember, but it must have been a suspension of sorts. I'm not going to say we are perfect but I'd like to think we are one of the most open and accessible forums on the web. Very accepting of multiple thoughts and viewpoints as long. My personal stance is, we are all entitled to our opinions and any opinion is fine, as long as we treat one another with respect. When I debate with someone in here, I know one thing, at the end of the day, we are all cheering like hell for the Bears to succeed!!! Either way, I think its great we have so many Bear fans with different perspectives to share. For pete sake, when we pass on lineman in the draft, I get an image of "Jason" throwing his remote at the TV, haha. -

Not sure where this is coming from but I don't' think anyone other then a spammer has ever even been banned from this site. -
I can't go any less then a B. I think it has a shot at being A. We got some guys with upside and who filled need positions. TO be honest, I could see this turning into a great draft. It also has some pretty high bust potential though. The fact that we took two cb's great is nice too cause we have a need there and Emery has had a history of finding some good corners later in the draft.
-
I think the Bears will take Orson if he's there. I'd also take my Iowa corner. I think he'll be a good cover 2 guy.
-
Casserly is talking a lot about Massie...grades out as an RT. I just don't think the Bears have that pegged as a need as they figure they have a couple guys that can play there if need be, one being the guy they invested a 1st round pick in last year. If the Bears are going to draft someone at this point, late, its something they think could project into a LT spot (with a lot of help) and/or a guard or center.
-
When you watch the tape, he plays better in a 3 point stance.

2 of Emery's drafts in KC were rated by PFW as the best drafts in the league (this is after seeing guys play). In fact, when you look at what Emery has drafted in the secondary, one thing he clearly appears to know is corners. He's also drafted some other very good defensive players and some quality offensive guys. He's clearly been an incredibly successful scout so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'd like to knock the Bears for taking another safety but you can't blame Emery for the fact that the past umpteen safeties the Bears drafted busted or did't pan out (hopefully Wright and Conte do).

Well mcclellin had one concussion in his career, and concussion like symptoms another time and played the entire 2011 season. I think this was a sign that the Bears aren't sold on Wright and think they might be able to upgrade the position with a ballhawk safety. Not saying I'd have made the pick but the Bears are picking from a position of luxury this year where they really can go for who they think is the best available player. Not many study LT's come from this round (guards, possibly) but LT, nope.
-
The concussion deal seems like a bunch of nothing. Harden was a rising stud in 2010. I'm not saying it was a major need but the reality is the Bears don't think there line is as bad as some people here think it is. Cutler's last 5 games he was sacked 5 times. In 10 games, he was sacked 23 times. That is in a Martz offense without Carimi for a good chunk of the year. To be frank, I expect the Bears to draft best available player quite a bit in this draft and that is what they did. They addressed the 2 biggest needs (outside of LT, which to be frank, wasn't available in this draft) and then went to work.

I really want Forte to come back and play. Put him with Bush and the new weapons and this could be a real fun offense.
-
Hester is going to be utilized in the slot as well. If Knox finds a way back, I really love our wide receiving corps. Great combo of size and speed. Random side note, this guy put up good numbers against some of the top defenses in the SEC, including Alabama who had a safety and cb go in the 1st round.
-
Outside of the top 2 picks, I think this is the best wideout on the board (Floyd/Blackmon were better). Bears gave up a 5th to get it (I'm fine with that). This guy can go get the ball and is just a flat out good wideout. I don't know how he will play at this new weight but I'm excited. Cutler has some weapons. I expect defense/olinemen the rest of this draft.
-
Pretty excited about this. He's a very good wideout.
-
Bears draft Alshon. I can live with that. In fact, I'm kind of excited about it.
-
Bears traded up. Not sure who we moved up for since three of the guys I assume they were targeting just went off the board.
-
I was bummed when Martin went. Still, there are some quality guys that would fill some needs available right now. But now Martin and Hill both went, which takes two guys I'd have really liked off the board.
-
You could make that argument. I'd disagree with it. Larry was a significantly better shooter. Durant is the better scorer. Dirk and Larry are the two best shooting bigs in NBA history.
-
They play an incredibly similar game. Tall long guys who can shoot. Probably two of the best tall shooters in NBA history.
-
Word on the street (from a guy who posts on one of my other sites that has close ties to ISU), the Bears are very high on Osemele.
-
In other words...in basketball, people compared Larry to Magic and Jordan and who was greater. They didn't compare Larry to some white dude from the 50's.
