I stand corrected.

If Marinelli couldn't do it, no one can. And don't give me this, Marinelli didn't do much for the team. Marinelli has done it with the best of them and is so well respected when it comes to coaching the line that you have to said with Rob on this. Harris should go and he does have a cap-friendly deal, if we cut him there is no hit. If we don't, he makes 8 or 9M. I forget which, but I think it is 9M cash.
-
Ogun is a class act and I hope he gets healthy and has productive years elsewhere. However, his injury is a blessing in disguise as it will force the Bears to play some of there younger DE's and hopefully we can see some promising flashes out of em.
-
Harris will get paid about 8.5 to 9M each year. The cap hit to cut him will not be significant though because of the way the Bears structured the deal.
-
NFo, we are going to run Marinelli out despite his reputation as the best in the league after one season where he worked with a pretty poor cast of characters. I think that would be pretty poor, imo. I look forward to the strides I expect to see out of some of our young lineman next year.

Toub is the reason I've always thought Hester as a return-man was over-rated. Yes he was special but over the years with Toub, the Bears have had a lot of very good return men. Jerry Azumah was pretty freakin good too.
-
Jamar Williams is a FA and he wont' be back because he never got an opportunity. I think he should be starting on the outside with Briggs playing in the middle. I wanted to see what Briggs could do there because it would allow the Bears to play Williams on the outside and Roach which would be a pretty athletic linebacking corp and open up the possibilities of moving Urlacher for a 2nd round pick. Tommie Harris needs to go because he makes a lot of money, runs his mouth like an idiot, and quite frankly isn't very good. He's the typical make excuse type of guy and that attitude doesn't belong on the Bears.
-
I think the Bears will try and trade Urlacher. I'm probably being unrealistic there, but all of those other players I firmly believe will be shown the door.
-
Who do you guys think will be gone this year (coaches/players): Coaching Staff: Everyone but Dave Toub/Rod Marinelli. Toub/Marinelli may go because of what happens but I think whomever the Bears bring in will consider keeping those two individuals. Players: Tommie Harris Adewale Ogunleye Brian Urlacher Jason McKie Orlando Pace Roberto Garza Craig Steltz Hunter Hillmeyer Mark Anderson Maybe: Kreutz Jamar Williams

He says Lovie isn't the problem but at the same time hints that the whole organization has a problem. I wonder if Olin thinks Jerry is the problem or if the combo is the problem or if the McCaskey's are the problem. Quite interesting

It is hard to knock the pick. After his rookie year people were thinking he'd be one of the best backs in Bear history. I think he deserves another shot and believe he's been injured but there is no denying he's stunk this year. And no, taking a back in the 2nd round who was one of the best backs in football in his rookie year is hardly a wasted pick, imo. Mendenhall wasn't available, IIRC (1st round pick of the Steelers).
-
I would actually be okay with keeping Marinelli around. I think he's an exceptional coach.
-
Forte has been a bigger problem than people think. He's really been atrocious. Yes, the line is atrocious, but Forte has sucked ass too.
-
Most definitely not. Angelo has been very good for the most part and I think the Bears problems lie more in the lines of coaching that anything else. Sure, Jerry has had his stinker picks but he's also had plenty of good picks and shrewd cap moves. Basically put, I think Jerry is in need of a better coach, if he gets that coach, Jerry will ultimately get a contract extension in time, imo. I really think Jerry is a great talent evaluator, however, i think the Bears would be well suited if they could get a very good offensive coach as there HC who can evaluate offensive talent.
-
I threw down as well.
-
The above is the only way Jerry saves his job.
-
I would have to think an important McCaskey would win out over a group of less influential types.
-
Pathetic. Than go be a CHarger fan. I don't care what shit this franchise runs out, it is still my team and I'll always support them.
-
Angelo's only chance is getting behind the idea of a new coach. If he says Lovie needs to stay than I think he'll be gone. He might be gone either way, but the writing is on the wall and to me, Lovie will be gone. You don't get blown-out as much as the Bears have and keep a coach. Absolutely, no way, no how. This team has quit and I expect far more comments ripping the coaching staff to come from players in the up-coming week. The worse thing that could happen to the Bears is for them to fluke out a couple wins late in the season as those wins might save Lovie his job. I'd put Lovie's chances of staying at around 25% and Jerry's at 50%.
-
He also has a very good track-record of success and is a well respected assistant coach in the league. I'd think he'd be a great candidate.
-
Excellent news. Pace will be cut in the off-season.
-
Wow, way to go Devin. Speaking the obvious and it sounds like or at least I hope, that there are a lot of people that will be packing there bags over this disastrous season.
-
I reailze they couldn't judge talent. But Angelo/Smith had nothing to do with most of the guys you mentioned? And I'd disagree with you on Orton. He isn't any better of a QB in Denver (With more weapons) than he was last year in Chicago. He's a mediocre QB whom the Bears actually got quite a bit out of given his draft status.
