  1. Ya, we probably could slip Currie onto the practice squad. I don't think we'd be able to put Watts on the pratice squad cause I'd have to imagine someone will give him a roster spot.
  2. If he's brought in, I wonder if he'll replace Gage or Currie.
  3. He fell out of love in Denver and was cutt, but this guy was a 2004 2nd round draft pick who has had some success at the NFL level. Apparently he fell out of love in Denver because he dropped a wide open TD pass that cost them a game at some point last year. He's not perfect, but he ran a 4.49 40 and is considered a pretty good athlete and is 6-2. In his rookie season he had 385 yards and than last year he only had 2 receptions. Apparently it appears we are his first choice cause he thinks he'll have a good opportunity here and it seems like the Bears are pretty interested in his services as well. This is according to KFFL.
  4. I think a lot of people underestimate Gage. While he isn't great, he has solid hands and is a very good blocker. I just don't think he's special, however, in the right situation I still think he could be a very good jump ball WR.
  5. Wow, this guy sounds like quite the collegiate player and you got to like his hands. Obviously he's a bit slow, but if he runs good routes and can catch he should be alright, especially since he's on the practice squad.
  6. I know its been reported a few times, but I thought I should once again bring it up. This article was written about a day ago and it also mentions Rogers who it appears we have no interest in. I know Justin is a pretty proven slot WR that would give us a lot more depth but I have my doubts as to how much better he makes us. That said he still is an upgrade and for the right price I'd definately take him. He's also a local kid.
  7. I had even read a lot about how DT had really straightend up and started working hard and realized that he couldn't just sit around and expect things to get handed to him. He was finally saying the right things for the first time in his career (when he joined the Broncos) and he still wasn't able to stick on apparently.
  8. I assume we kept Worrell for his special teams play. I know the coaching staff has said he has a very good attitude and is a pretty good special teams player and when it comes to the final few spots, usually your special teams play is the reason you made the cut.
  9. Ya, everyone in Chicago says we will not go after him. Angelo says he has the same injury problems some of our other guys have and on top of that he'd have to come in and learn an entirely new system. It sounds like he's not a fit because JA wants to get someone proven not another unproven because he thinks he has enough unproven talents already on the roster (in Berrian/Bradley/Currie/Davis).
  10. Ya, this is the right place. In time as the site grows we'll add an off topic section. I think the team looks pretty solid, although I do think you are very weak in the backfield. By the looks of it you are playing in a league with quite a few teams. I'd probably go with Gould over Nugent considering the fact that the Jets will suck. Last year I had Nugent to start the season and than I was a genius and dropped him for Rackers after the first week. That move paid off and took me all the way to league champion.
  11. Calico was a guy I really liked entering that draft. He had size and a lot of raw tools and early on looked like a keeper for the Titans.
  12. Haynes is going to the Saints. We have only 3 defensive ends, but a few of our tackles can rotate to play the end position. I was most surprised with the Jamaal Greene cut.
  13. I'd be really happy if we were able to add an athlete like McNeal to our practice squad. I expect someone like Mark Philmore to be added, I know the Bears were relatively impressed with him and he's supposed to be a pretty good athlete.
  14. On draft day it was pretty much a given that Hester was going to get taken by the Titans (instead of Lendale) but than last minute they stopped. However, quite a few teams were going to grab Hester right after the Bears so if we wanted him and liked him, the pick would have had to be made when we made it.
  15. Welcome aboard. Did you get your screenname changed the way you like it on all the sites? If not let me know and I'll take care of that
  16. Apparently Rogers has struggled with some knee problems for part of training camp? I thought thats what I read somewhere when they were talking about some of the reasons he was cut. I know the coaching staff wasn't overly impressed but I think he was cut because financially they'd actually save some money while the coaching staff would also send a message to Mike Williams and the rest of the team that they don't care who you are, if you don't work hard, no matter how talented you are you'll be gone. Rogers was in a really poor situation (everyone in Detroit the past few years was) and I think coming to a place where he could come in and adjust without ridiculous expectations and be surrounded by guys that have an upbeat attitude (and right now the Bears have that) and a lot of confidence about the upcoming season could really be a nice thing to help Rogers show everyone why he was the 2nd overall selection.
  17. The Vikings are apparently thinking about signing him.
  18. Ya Clark is a very good run blocker and he isn't bad as a receiver, but he did have a real shoddy preseason and I'd admit he drops more balls than you'd like. At least he had a TD grab and another nice grab in the preseason finale.
  19. What makes things better is that its on a team that has a defense thats capable of putting a team in the super bowl so he's in a position where if he becomes the starting QB he's on a pretty good team to boot.
  20. Its quite evident that the Pats never really wanted to move him. All of this was just to put pressure on Branch to take the offer they have on the table. The Pats are unlikely to give in and the question is how badly does Branch want to play football.
  21. The interesting part is whether we carry 5 or 6 WR's and who knows, maybe Charles Rogers becomes one of those guys. The Trib seems to think we will keep both Gage and Currie on early on. The next question is guys like Anderson (our 5th round pick) and obviously Michael Haynes. We should see the final cuts anytime now cause we need to get down to 53 today. Bynum is apparently a favorite to make the practice squad. The Bears seem to think he's a pretty good athlete, but he's still a little raw.
  22. Rex would have been even better if it weren't for a few drops. He got better each and every preseason game and is our starter. I have full faith in Rex and I got faith in our Bears. Although I'll be much happier when our run blocking improves, than again, it was quite obvious we put very little focus on the running game during the preseason.
  23. The one thing is those collar bone injuries are more random injuries as opposed to him being injury prone. He's made some mistakes but this guy was the 2nd overall pick and compared to Randy Moss at one point for a reason. He has loads of talent but with the Lions already having a lot of money comitted to there receiving core it seems like Charles Rogers was the odd man out. I'd have no problem taking a chance on Rogers cause I think he has more ability than at least a few of our guys.
  24. Very interesting, Brown seems very confident he'll be back. Obviously doctors may have another story though, unless of course we go by Dr. Brown as Lovie calls him, lol. This is still good news though because Brown is already out of the sling and seems to be healing quickly thus far. We could really use him against the Packers, however, if there is any doubt I would have no problem sitting him an extra week if it meant preventing some sort of continuous nagging injury.
