  1. That display was absolutely classless. I will give Reggie credit for apologizing after the game and I hope he never does such a stupid thing again. It is one thing to get excited, but its another to put down or taunt the other team (unless that team has already down a bunch of taunting during the game). Overall I just like it when a team plays with class because its a sign that they've been there before and they will be there again. I still love emotions in the game though, if you make a great play, celebrate, just don't slam the other team while doing it (unless its making fun of the Giants and all the stupid jumpshots they do, ROFL).
  2. Haha, classic stuff. Right now I got the super bowl shuffle up on my myspace page (got to pimp out the Bears).
  3. Haha...I'm hear to tell you welcome aboard. Judging by your post you are obviously enthusiastic about the Bears but I will say that you shouldn't quit your day job (whatever that may be). Great to have you on board and hopefully you'll be writing up a super bowl champion wrap in a couple weeks
  4. I guarantee that Lovie Smith will remain as head coach of the Chicago Bears. First off, for him to go elsewhere this season, Jerry Jones would have to have a complete woodie over Smith. Personally I don't think that is the case, considering that Smith would change the Cowboys defensive scheme from the 3-4 (Jones wants to keep the 3-4). In addition, Jones would have to offer in the neighborhood of 7 million per year or so (over 5-6 years) to even get Lovie to consider pushing the Bears and before that were to happen the Bears would have to give permission to Dallas (and they won't be giving any permission during these next 2 weeks nor do I see Dallas sitting around and waiting for it). Basically put, Lovie will sign a 5yr 25 mill or so extension to stay with the Bears. Lovie likes the players, likes his assistants, likes the GM, likes the fans/city and has really became to embody what the Chicago Bears franchise is about and he's going to have the opportunity to represent this franchise for a long long time (as will Angelo as our GM). I think the Bears were going to sign Lovie to an extension either way. He's proven that last year was no fluke and now that he has a couple playoff wins (and hopefully one more 06-07 playoff win left) under his belt I am even more sure than ever that he'll get a nice fat contract (in fact he probably made a little bit more due to the teams performance). However, I tend to think that both of these guys contracts (Angelo/Smith's) are pretty much done, its just that the Bears are waiting to the end of the off-season to complete the minor details (as to not take away from what the team is doing).
  5. Oh man and I thought 23 was the number I was supposed to be scared of. At least that is what Jim Carey is saying.
  6. Welcome aboard. Great to have another Bear fan in the mix and lets hope all of us will be celebrating something real special in 13 days
  7. As usual, I will refuse to watch the super bowl half time show. Halftime shows are the boringest things in the world. Call me old fashion, but I'd prefer to see the Bud Bowl or at least hear some talking head analyze/breakdown the first half.
  8. Amazing...the Bears are playing in the freaking SUPERBOWL!!! YESSSSS
  9. Fantastic news. Whether you like Tank or not and there is no denying he made a very serious mistake in his life, you can't not like the fact that he seems to be saying the right things since that whole fiasco. In addition he has played tremendous football and will be a key element of our game plan against the Colts because for the Bears to win the game they will need to be playing at the highest level (and for Tank that means not only blowing up the run, but also getting penetration on passing downs (which hopefully flusters and prevents Manning from being able to step up and finish off his passes).
  10. Freaking sweet. I continue to have faith and cheer like hell for Rexy. Lets hope he can come out again on Sunday and play good football!!!!
  11. I think Tillman is the better all around corner while Vasher is a bit better of a play-maker. Personally I think both will be Bears for a long time with us eventually developing Hester as the nickel back (but we have time as Manning will be here another couple years). I like our secondary, its just a matter of finding a legit safety since Mike Brown has proven to be too much of a health risk.
  12. Lets do this. Smash mouth football, the ocassional play action and down field pass, and some defense and forced turnovers. It all starts with Seattle!!!!
  13. I really think thats why we've seen such a hot and cold Grossman. Turner's game calling has been either very good or absolutely god awful and there really has been no middle ground. Basically put if his initial plan works, brilliant, but if it doesn't we've had a hard time making adjustments and succeeding in the game (although in the Giants game we did stick with the game plan and things ended up working alright despite early struggles).
  14. If the Bears can win, we will likely be in good shape and be favorites to actually retain our entire staff. I am surprised that Ron is getting head coaching calls considering the way our offense has collapsed the 2nd part of the season (than again so has our defense). Lets just hope these guys improve there coaching resume's these next few weekends by getting some playoff wins and by doing so Bears fans will be happy because the team is on its way to the big game and the front office will be happy because other teams will have probably made there decisions and went with head coaches (the only exceptoin being Al Davis, who may wait till preseason considering how slowly the Raiders look, but I can't see either of the Rons taking that pathetic job). Just think about how much of a bargain Smith was (lowest paid HC in the league). That will all change though and I think the two have already agreed to an extension and my guess is we are talking about 4yr 20-24 million.
  15. Give Benson and Jones 32+ carries, Grossman has 2 turnovers or less, and I say its 24-14 Bears.
  16. Welcome aboard. Great to have another Bear fan here. If all goes right this week, you very well could have a lot of talk with your buddies about a potential Bears/Saints matchup. Of course first we need to take care of business against the Hawks and all I care about is the Bears doing there thing and playing well. We do that and I am 100% confident in our squad. If we try to get cute and make mistakes, we are toast.
  17. I was probably one of the people who didn't hate Shoop. I'm not saying Shoop was a great coordinator but I liked his overall game plan and I think he did a decent job without any talent, however, the guy is not near ready to be a head coach. That said I would have had no problem with Shoop running things here because we would have seen 30-40 carries a game out of our backs, a lot of screen passes (to our backs), tons of play action and maybe a few deep balls (with Grossman's arm I can't see how we wouldn't have tried it). And quite frankly I consider that the perfect offensive game plan for our squad. Turner on the other hand relies on the pass to charge our offense and considering we have a young QB (prone to mistakes) and play in the cold, its just not a good combo. And I can't put any blame on Shoop for what happened in Oakland. That entire place is a total mess.
  18. If they overlook a team in the playoffs two years in a row, these guys should all be axed. Note: I'm not saying we fire them just cause we lose, rather if we go in over-cocky and lose because of that (like we did to Carolina) than that would be inexcuseable.
  19. Ditto and for the last half or so of the season we have done all we can to lose games.
  20. My guess is Vasher would play today if we really needed him. He is listed as questionable and I'm assuming we'll sit him again this week and than give him a little bit of action on the last week of the season just as a prep towards the playoffs (where he'll get another week off during our bye week). Aside from Tommie and Brown, barring on major injuries (knock on wood) we'd have all of our other guys ready and able.
  21. There was an interesting read talking about how Hester's mistakes pretty much lead to TD Galloway had. That because of it there was a guy out of the position which mean Manning had to cover and as a result Manning Jr was covering as well and it left us defenseless against that pass. Than on the second one, Manning missed his bump and it led directly to the last TD.
  22. My question is where was Michael Vick. I could see people not giving it to Grossman based on a few awful games, but Vick has nearly 1000 rushing yards and 19 TD passes. How the heck does he not get the nod over Tony Romo and what would be 10 total starts (if he starts the next two games).
  23. I'd be shocked if Tank ended up doing any jail time for this incident.
