Ron Turner........To go or not to go........
I did a little searching on the web and found out that Mularcky was the OC when Saban was the coach and when they hired Cam Cameron he was demoted to Tight Ends coach because Cameron wanted to call is own plays (so Cameron is the head coach and OC).

Miami/New England
Damn it...what the hell happened, Miami somehow wins. Stupid Fins.

Miami/New England
Pats ended up getting the win, but the Dolphins blew a late lead as Troy Smith led the Ravens down for the game tying field goal. Stover to attempt a FG in OT for a Ravens win. Come on, make it, I want those stinking fins to go 0-16 with the Pats going 16-0 just to shove it to that old Dolphin team.

If I were GM...
There is a reason Griese isn't even considered right now. He is done in Chicago. He can't make half as many NFL passes as Rex can and he actually makes even more "bad throws/bad decisions". Having a guy who manages the game by throwing pick after pick in the red zone (he has the highest red zone pick percentage of all active qb's with a couple starts under there belt). I'm not guaranteeing Rex is the answer but I guarantee Rex is a superior option to Griese and I'm 90% sure he's a better answer to Orton. Rex can make passes that only a handful of NFL QB's can make. He isn't as good at running an offense as Manning/Brady but who is.

Giants Sign Rowand
The point is the White Sox say they are going for it all and they've made a ton of moves stating that so at this point these were there only real options left to go for it and without making these moves the Sox had no chance. They may not have been able to make it with the moves, but they wouldn't be clear cut contenders with the Torri Hunter signing either. Bottom line the Sox made a boatload of moves based on trying to compete and they knew when they got into it they'd have to go all out to even have a chance and in the end they fell short and becuase of that, resigning Mark/Dye will end up looking bad, same with trading Garland for anything but front end prospects (the only plus is that Cabrera is as valuable and you could probably swing him if necessary) and than you have the Linebrink signing which only makes sense if you plan on contending. I hope I'm wrong, but barring a major upgrade somewhere this team has little chance (unless Danks/Floyd kick ass).

DBacks acquire Dan Haren
The NL West is a division with a lot of good young talent in it. It will be fun to see those teams all battle it out (with the Giants being in last, but for the time being they have Cain/Linnecum who are stud young pitchers with ace potential).

If I were GM...
That is the problem. The offensive line, which was the Bears biggest weakness, isn't improved and you have Griese who is in no way shape or form as a guy battling for a starting job. Unless Orton is really looking good these next couple weeks the QB position would be a complete disaster. Whether people like Rex or not, he is the best QB the Bears have on the roster and that is most likely be a long-shot (barring what Orton does and I don't think Orton has the skill-set, ie the quick release necessary, but I am hoping I am wrong). I think Orton has the makes of being a very solid backup QB though and I do think he could be a pretty solid WCO QB.

If I were GM...
I have to say under that scenario the QB position and the offensive line would still be a disaster for the most part. I also think you still have serious questions at the safety position (although you did use a first take pick on a safety).

Ron Turner........To go or not to go........
Mularcky is no longer calling plays in Miami so I don't know if anyone would want to take a chance or not, but the guy was awesome for 4 years as the OC in Pittsburgh. He was creative and really utilized guys like Hines Ward, Kordell, and Antwaan Randle El and I would love to see how he could be innovative to utilize Hester/Wolfe/Olsen. He had one good season in Buffalo as a HC and the 2nd one wasn't so good but he was still widely regarded as a brilliant play caller. He than coached under Saban in Miami as the OC and injuries to Ronnie Brown and Cullpepper hurt his offense and than this year Cam Cameron came in and Mularcky is now the Tight Ends coach with Cameron running the offense. Tony Sparano - Coybows (here's some quotes/info I've found on him): He came in as the Cowboys oline coach (Parcells hire) in 2004 and turned the Cowboys line from being amongst the league's worse to being one of the very best in just a short time. He also is heavily involved with the offensive direction, both in 06 where he called some plays, and in 07 where he really works closely with Jason Garrett. He has previous experience as a tight ends coach and was very influential working with Jason Witten (stud TE). He now has the title of Assistant head coach and is signed through 09 (but I'm assuming if you negotiate and get him this title you'd be able to potentially get him away from Dallas). Of course, if Garret is hired away Dallas would than likely turn to Sparano as the OC. He also has 22 years of coaching experience. I think if you want to go new OC, you give the money to this guy. You want to go older Mularkey or Fassel are good bets.

Bearstalk.com
No. It is on Crown Valley and Golden Lantern (there is a blockbuster in the center and a Wendy's). The place has all games on every week and some solid specials. It is an old time bar but the Bear games are always in full sound in the front room on there 60 inch TV in HD (and than there are tv's all around it which have stuff). There is another Patsy's in the Mission/Aliso/Laguna Hills areas so maybe that is in a Vitamin Shoppe center? And I may be wrong, the Patsy's I'm talking about may be considered Laguna Hills.

Upcoming Free Agents
Completely agree and that is why I will be completely ticked off if the Bears don't make a massive attempt to completely redo the offensive line this off-season (both with cash in FA and with talent in the draft).

Ron Turner........To go or not to go........
I would hope that the two of them both sit down and talk to candidates with Lovie ultimately having the final say since it is his coaching staff. Still, I'd expect heavy involvement from Angelo since he too is a good football mind. The thing I always liked about this front office is the relatively good communication that goes on between the coach and the GM. I think back to the Jauron days where you had Jauron doing his thing and Angelo doing his (which is a major problem when you have a GM not having his guy as a coach). Bottom line, right when the season ends I want Angelo/Gabriel/Lovie all huddled up discussing what the options are and just looking back at everything that went wrong and also things that went right. From there they'll need to lay out a gameplan of what they all feel needs to be done to get the team back to the SuperBowl and than start going about that plan (I'm assuming that will involve working with Babich on altering some of the defensive approaches, as well as getting in legit safeties) and coming up with a new offensive coordinator (maybe an oline coach as well) and an offensive line. I truly expect the Bears to bring in an offensive guy who comes from a Pittsburgh Steelers type of offensive approach. Anyone know what Mularcky is up to right now? I always like the system he ran in Pittsburgh and while he didn't make a good head coach he seemed to be a very accomplished OC.

Ron Turner........To go or not to go........
I really can't see Mooch, who got paid as much as he did as a head coach, coming back into the league as anything but a head coach. He'd be a hell of a pick up, but the Bears would have to dish out at like 1.5-2M to even have a chance at hiring him as an OC and that is if he could get past the fact he wouldn't be a head coach. I still say it is too bad that the timing of the Martz thing didn't work out to him being available when the Bears were looking for an OC cause I'm pretty sure the Bears would have hired him.

Maybe the Bears will hire the flying monkeys to go with the rest of the coaching staff?

Lisa Lampanelli
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd be dead of alcohol poisoning before I was ever caught dead on her. Now if lots of money was thrown my way, well, maybe my answer would change...DBDB "Male Gigolo".

On D Tackle
I would cringe if Harris somehow got hurt. We already know he's playing on one leg and we might as well end that expirement. I have to be honest, Harris has some sacks but it baffles me that he's still the best DT on this team (because on one leg, quite frankly, he hasn't been even good, in my humble opinion). Its not his fault either, I give him credit for even going out there and playing.

Active Qbs
That is what I liked about Rex when he came back a couple weeks ago. He didn't scramble a ton, but he seemed much more mobile in the pocket and seemed to use that mobility to make plays that in the past would have been "dead" plays. I don't know what his diagnosis is, but I'd imagine that if his ligaments are strong he could probably play in a bind, its just a matter of not wanting him to.

Active Qbs
I think it purely has to do with the Bears not officially being eliminated from the playoffs so Lovie is holding off on placing him on IR until we know that is the case, since I'd guess, if the team made the playoffs, Rex would be able to suit up. Of course odds are we will officially be eliminated on Monday.

Question about this site
Yeah. Invision and VB are very similar software packages. Their are some perks to both but in the end I'm hard pressed to see a major difference between the two. Just my 2 cents.

Good stuff. I watch them down in Aliso Niguel at Patsy's Irish Pub. I happened to see you were in Mission and I was going to say it be weird if I never realized your one of the Bears fans that is there every week, haha. There's a Chronic in Mission too right?

I screwed something up when I was messing with something on the server side and haven't quite gotten around to fixing it. I think it will be fixed by the morning.

Hey Sulster...I happened to notice you live in Mission Viejo. I'm in Irvine, but I was wondering where you watch Bears games?

Draft needs
Tony Sporado - Dallas Cowboys Sporado was there offensive line coach and he also has been very involved and I think became an asst. head coach. He's well respected and he could be inline to take the OC job when Garret gets a head coaching gig this off-season. He did a fantastic job on the oline and seems to be well respected in terms of general offensive knowledge so I think he would make a very good OC. I also think it would cost the Bears a lot.
