  1. Not surprising. However, after reading up about him, I hope his contract with GB runs up after this year as he seems like someone who could be a very good option for OC next year.
  2. I hope we hire Martz, cause that will most likely signal the end to Lovie'and JA's reign of terror (hopefully they put Phillips back into accounting or something as long as he no longer has any power over personnel or the staff). Look what Martz did in his previous two stints. He was brought there to revive each teams offense, and while they did see some increases (notably with the passing game, but they passed more than any other team), Martz complete refusal to run the ball as well as his enormous ego caused him to be canned. Sure, Cutler might pass for more than 4,000 yards, but expect him to be hit as much or even more, as well as another year of him having a 1:1 TD:INT ratio. Don't expect us to run the ball at all. And expect a lot of chaos in the coaches office with Mike Martz enormous ego. Hopefully they hire Martz just so the McCasky's can finally wake up and turn this ship around. The Bears are a team and org that has always prided itself on a punishing defense and a strong and powerful running attack. Next year with the pass happy O and the shitty D (as long as Lovie has the final say, this D will suck), there will be no choice to do a complete overhaul. Plus, with the complete lack of physicality and the things the Bears and Chicago pride themselves on, we could be major players for Cowher.
  3. By cleaning house, I hope that means Teddy leaving as well as he doesn't know jack shit about football. Hopefully the McCaskey's final wake up and hire someone who knows a thing or two about football to be the president of football operations.
  4. It was obviously a joke that meant no harm. No need to get overly sensative about it.
  5. Id rather have an owner who wants to win than an owner who doesn't give a shit for anything except for the weekly check.
  6. Either way, its the same shit cause Rivera could have been easily brought back since he didnt get any HC offers. Its obvious the reason Rivera was let go was because he didn't believe in Lovie's traditional Tampa 2
  7. George Halas is rolling in his grave today... hell, he's probably been rolling for a long time.
  8. I meant Rivera. I typed Ron and then Turner just kinda came out.
  9. Big whoop. While Fewell is a good coach and all, I doubt much changes on D with Lovie running the show. He fired Ron Rivera because he was too good and didnt give into Lovie when it came to play calling and such. So, anyone who is hired as DC is gonna have to be a puppet who does whatever Lovie wants. The funny thing is, we fire all these offensive coaches, but not a single defensive coach. However, a team that prides itself on defense has been as bad or worse than the offense these past 3 years. Un-freakin-believable.
  10. Kyle Shanahan is gonna join Papa Shanahan in Washington as the OC. Then dont be surprised to see Bates joing Shanahan in Washington as perhaps Assistant HC and QB coach. Shanahan will likely try and bring in as many of his past offensive coaches from Denver as possible. Probably not so many defensive coaches cause his offense was the only thing that worked in Denver for the later part of his tenure there. Man, it must feel good to be a Washington fan knowing that you at least have an Owner who cares about winning.
  11. Another thing to keep in mind is that we need an every down back to backup Forte. What if Forte goes down for an extended period of time? I don't know about anyone else, but I don't see Kahlil Bell/Adrian Peterson and Wolfe being serviceable. I have been highly criticle of Wolfe, but he is decent to use once in a while, but never for more than maybe 5 touches in a game. As for Bell or Peterson, I dont view either as every down backs but rather emergency guys/3rd stringers/special teams. Lets say we did get a Toby Gerhart. Not only does he provide you with an everydown back to backup Forte, but he is also a bruiser.
  12. Aromashodu, while is our tallest WR, is only 6'2" and is as skinny as a rail. I'm a big fan of the guy, ever since his Auburn days. However, he doesn't bring much to the table in terms of YAC and while he is 6'2", that doesn't make him some big physical guy. That just makes him tall. If anything, Aromashodu's best route is the 9. He certainly is no big physical receiver. Adding a physical receiver who can go across the middle, move the chains, and be a great blocker on the outside would be a huge assest to the team. As of right now, the only guy we have that can block and doesn't play OLine is Dez Clark. Bennett and Knox seem to try, but dont have the physicality to make much impact.
  13. Wolfe does not nearly have the bulk Sproles has. Also, Sproles is quite possibily the quickest back in the NFL and has some of the best acceleration in the game.
  14. A part of me wants Toby Gerhart in the 3rd round (early 3rd seems like the most logical place he'll be drafted at). A big strong runner who is extremely tough to bring down, he can be our go to back on the goalline and other short yardage situations. He's a very smart player who is an able blocker. Plays with a lot of heart and always fall forward, never goes down on the first hit. His biggest weakness is his straightline speed, but he has good game speed and hits the whole with a burst. Forte is the primary guy who is the jack of all trades but master of none. Gerhart will be the short yardage power back. All we need is a home run threat like Darren Sproles.
  15. We still need a big physical receiver who can move the chains, IMO.
  16. D-I FBS is the ultimate goal. If things don't work out as I hope, GVSU is always an option.
  17. Im not giving up hope that Lovie will be fired. 3 straight years at 7-9 and constant underachieving is unexcuseable. Ever since Lovie got GM powers and started bringing in the guys he wanted, this team went to hell. And this great defensive minded coach was god awful calling the plays for the Bears this year. Fire him, and bring in Grimm or Jim Harbaugh (Shannahan rumored to be getting 10 mil per year from Washington... Ill pass).
  18. I thought about doing the spotlight but it was too tough to me to do by myself and I dont know of anyone who would do it for me for free. For the most part, its pretty clear where Im at except for a few of the plays. As for the play you say I should take out, I went back and forth on this. On one hand, the QB gets sacked because I kinda cut off his lane. However, if I let that DE go, he's gonna get the sack. I think that it shows pretty good footwork on my part and staying with my guy. The QB getting sacked on that play really isnt my fault. And I wish I could have added more run blocking, but we were primarily a pass team and since we were always down by several points, we would pass non stop. Thank you for the kind words and I'm gonna do my best to make talkbears proud. I will certainly keep you guys posted.
  19. As some of you might recall, I posted my highschool highlight tape on here last year. Well, after one year at JuCo, I have another highlight tape to share with you all. I am #62 and playing Right Tackle. I am in the Navy or White tops with gray pants. Started every game and did not miss a single snap. I am hoping to go D-I and am 90% certain I will stay 1 more year at JuCo in hopes of getting the best offers possible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRp0rHIfCeM
  20. The only way I dont bring Manning back is if his asking price is ridiculously out of price. However, considering 2010 is looking more and more like an uncapped year, Manning will be a RFA and we'd be crazy not to give him a 2nd round tender (I believe thats like 1.5 million). I really dont mind if 2010 will be uncapped because either way, 2010 isn't shaping up to be a special year for Bear fans considering Lovie will likely stay and we dont have our first two picks. However, hopefully after next year, they get the CBA taken care.
  21. Once again that %*&$#*&$ Mariotty has no idea what he is talking about. James got punished because he is a lazy prick who continuely showed disrespect to the coaches and his teammates. Here's a nice article that shows e-mails TTech got in support of Leach from former players and current coaches. In the e-mails, they describe at great lengths at how much of a douche James was. http://dennis-dodd.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc...270202/19238949 and id hardly say he was ever confined in a small closet... http://www.kcbd.com/global/Category.asp?C=...p;partnerclipid
  22. Its a shame that we dont have an owner like Arthur Blank... someone who actually cares about the team and wants to win, but only gets involved when its neccessary.
  23. Oh I agree, I thought it was pretty much a given that Turner will be gone.
  24. Yes, we won, and it was great to see the team play with some emotion for once... But you can guarantee yourself that this victory will be the excuse the front offices uses to keep Lovie. Sure, it was still 50-50 at best even if we did lose out, but not its almost a certainty he will be back. Very bittersweet tonight.
  25. Aromashodu, while I like him and he can become a solid receiver in the future, is nothing like Brandon Marshall. Marshall is a complete receiver, and has a lot more size and the ability to be much more physical on the field. Now, if youre just talking about in a sense of him being our number 1... time will tell.
