    Bye Bye Madden

Cris Collinsworth is god awful. Speaking of rambling, thats all that Collinsworth does. He says terrible jokes and will never shut up. How you can like Collinsworth, that's beyond me.
  2. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/15/...tive-test-list/ What idiots. No matter how you feel on weed or drugs, that is just plain retarded to test positive when you know you are going to be tested. I hope that number is wrong, but damn... seriously, how stupid can you be?

    Bye Bye Madden

Yeah, I know, but Madden is iconic. Even though he was over the hill as announcer, he still was very funy with his comments, and he's just loves football. He was a great guy, and I really didn't care how long he stayed on because you knew when Madden was announcing, it was a big game.

I'm gonna miss him. Sunday Night Football won't be the same without him. Now we'll probably have to have Chris Colinsworth announce SNF, and that's not good at all.
  6. With Harvin officially testing positive for weed at the combine, there a pretty good chance he could fall to 49. As Charley Casserly stated, when a player tests positive for anything at the combine, it means they either have a serious problem, or damn stupid, and neither are good things. Casserly also said any prospect in the same shoes as Harvin was taken off their boards (If you don't know who Casserly is, he worked in an NFL front office for 24 some years and spent 16 of those years as a GM). Now, at 49, I think we could and should take the risk with Harvin if he is there. But it doesn't look like any team will touch Harvin in the 1st. Just too risky.
  7. Flacco was considered by many to be a 1st day pick well before any of the offseason stuff for prospects. No one really expected him to go 18th overall, but it was not a surprise to see him go in the 1st round.
  8. When did Mayock and Kiper become professional NFL scouts?
  9. I really like all 3 of our QB's. A lot of good young talent with all 3 of them.
  10. If we draft him, the remote is going through my TV. This guy isn't that good.
  11. That face on him is hysterical...
  12. Not a terrible idea, but we already have our Cook in Olsen. Cook's value goes way down as a WR, IMO. A thought I had though is bringing in James Casey in the 3rd or 4th as an H-Back. He can play FB, TE, WR, and even Wildcat QB.
  13. John Madden must really like us. 3 times for sure on SNF, and we'll probably get a Flex game as well vs. either Green Bay of Baltimore.
  14. he's a quick little profile... http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/will-f...le-tab-analysis I'd love to get him. Lots of potential with him.
  15. I like Franklin and definitely wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him.
  16. Oh yeah, Stats tell the whole story!!! Anyone with half a brain could realize that it was the D that lost us most of our games last year, not the O.
  17. I wish Orton the best and I hope he thrives in Denver... I'm glad to see that he likes it in Denver.
  18. Personally, from what I have read, seen, and heard about Ron Turner, he's a pretty great offensive mind. His problem is inconsistency, boneheaded/very conservative play calling at times, and lack of weapons on offense. However, that last point might be the biggest reason why Turner has never taken off as an OC. I don't really remember the Bears from 93-96 as I was very young, but IIRC, we didn't have much offensive talent during those years. And those Illini teams he coached didn't have much talent on offense either (but that is kind of his fault considering they were his recruiting classes. Plus, I don't know if this is the case, but he might have given play calling duties to his OC at some point during his tenure there). And so far during the Lovie tenure, he's had really only 1 year with a lot of talent on O, and that was in 06. And when Grossman didn't **** his pants, we had a very potent and explosive offense. Part of it had to do with the D and Hester being a beast, but you can't ignore the fact that our O was very solid and we put up some pretty big numbers at times. Imagine how good that 06 offense would have been with Jay Cutler (not 06 rookie Cutler, but Jay Cutler present) as the QB instead of Grossman. With the more weapons and tools we add on O, the more I think Turner will be willing to open it up. Part of the reason why he might have made so many conservate and boneheaded calls in the past could be because he didn't trust what we had on offense and/or the players just weren't good enough for what Turner wanted to do. I think if we added a bunch of weapons for Turner, we could see him kind of come out of his shell and really surprise us with his play calling. Now the question, what do we need to at add? At 49, don't expect much. Most likely all top 6 or 7 receivers will be gone, and even if Robiskie is there, he isn't a good enough player, IMO, to make a big impact. Right now, IMO, we gotta put all of our focus on bringing in Holt and hope Orlando convinces him that Chicago is the place for him. If we bring in Holt, that will give us so much more flexibility in the draft. We'd basically have our top 3 guys set with Holt, Hester, and Bennett, 3 very solid targets who could do great with Cutler. Also, don't forget we got Matt Forte, Greg Olsen, and Dez Clark, 3 very good targerts... And Olsen could be in for maybe a Tony Gonzalez type of season, IMO. We could also add a few more weapons in the draft. Maybe we could trade down and pick up Ramses Barden. Hell, maybe we go outside the box and draft someone like James Casey in the 3rd or 4th as a H-Back. If we give Ron Turner the weapons, I think he can produce. And if he doesn't (as well as Lovie) and we miss the playoffs again... Welcome Shanahan to the Bears!!!
  19. no, that's right. We traded the pick we got for Griese, as well as our 7th for Buenning.
  20. Okay, I looked it up and you were right, but we still have a 6th round pick.
  21. Rashad Johnson is a legit mid-early 2nd round prospect. He's not the most physically gifted, but he's a leader on and off the field, and NFL Teams love guys with his character.

    Ogletree

    Probably a 5th-6th rounder, 4th rounder at best. http://www.draftcountdown.com/scoutingrepo...in-Ogletree.php
  23. Cardinals, Steelers, Packers (x2), Vikings (x2), Eagles, 49ers, Seahawks, Ravens, and Falcons are mostly gonna be tougher games and far from sure things. If we lose to anyone, it better be a team on this list. That's 11 games, so if we can go at least 6-5 against these opponents, and win the games we should, we can go 11-5. We don't have the toughest schedule, but is is far from an easy one. Using last year's win-lose is a garbage way to determine how tough a schedule is.
