They guy I think JA is targeting with the second pick is Justin Durant from Hampton. pretty much. Here's to hoping the Chargers absolutely suck next year, so we can get an early 3rd rounder!
-
I would have taken a 3rd rounder this year, as well as next year, and a 5th rounder, plus move up a spot in the second (our original 2nd rounder is 1 spot ahead of what ours is now) for Thomas Jones any day of the week. In fact, we get better value this way. Plus, we pick back-to-back in the 3rd... it doesn't get better then that to practically end day 1. Well, Eric Weddle was a great pick by them.
-
Wow... what a great trade by JA.
-
Good ridence to Aaron Sears... I did not like him at all, and glad he cant be drafted by JA. Oh, I see what you mean now. I was kinda thinking that myself as well though. Maybe JA moved up to 37 to grab a small school prospect who he thought would be here, and who he and lovie really wanted.
-
I think he would be best utilized in a man system, and that we could find someone who could be just as good as him for the cover 2. But, like I said, I wouldn't mind him. Also, Dwayne Jarrett and Mark Bradley are completely different players. Bradley had injury concerns and was a big reach, but he had a lot of speed and potential. With Jarrett, we pretty much know what we would get.
-
Well, we shouldn't have any problems signing him now... but come 3-4 years when he is or about to become a free agent, oh brother.
-
Tampa could go CB. Ronde ain't getting any younger. And the Eagles could use a QB for the future, and backup Donovan
-
Okay... Jarrett is still on the board. I don't see Tampa drafting him, but maybe Philly. Chris Huston still available, but after looking at it deeper, Houston doesn't seem like a good fit for our D.
-
ah nut figgins... I hope one of either Dwayne Jarrett or Paul Poz will be there at 37. Maybe Tony Ugoh, but I am not a big fan of his. Right now, it seems wisest to wait until next year draft a future LT as next years draft has several good prospects that could be worth drafting, unlike this year for us. I wouldn't mind an OG prospect, but there isn't really anyone worth 37 (we need a future LG, not RG, IMO). Maybe second day, but the org. is high on Tyler Reed.
-
Options for 37? Paul Poz possibly? Alan Branch? Dwayne Jarrett? We are going to come away with at least 2 real good young players from this draft.
-
What happened to Poz? He has hardly been mentioned. I would love to see him fall to 37 with Olsen at 31.
-
I really like this pick by the niners. I really like what they have done this offseason, and I really think they are going to win the west this year, as Seattle has pretty much degressed.
-
Actually, what hoof said makes sense. There has to be a major reason why someone like Branch, once considered a top 5 pick is falling like this. I'd go with Olsen and maybe if Branch is still floating around at 37, maybe. I really think JA is going to go TE. He has said this offseason that he is a bit upset for not addressing TE earlier a year ago, and now the best TE in the draft, someone who seemed like he would not be at 31, falls into your lap. The only thing that might be holding JA and Lovie back from making such a pick is who his agent is...
-
Interesting. I thought forsure the Saints would get something for defense, but I like the Meachem pick. He and Colston can make a deadly duo in a couple years. Now, I actually see Alan Branch falling to 31. New England doesn't really need DL and Baltimore drafted Ngata last season. And I don't think the Chargers are looking DL either. Wow... if you had to pick between Branch and Olsen, who would you choice?
-
I HIGHLY doubt that we trade down at all.
-
My prediction is now... Greg Olsen at 31 and Dwayne Jarrett at 37. JA is going for an offensive year.
-
4 teams until the Bears... (in order) Saints, Patriots, Ravens, and the Chargers. (trades can effect this) I see the Saints taking defensive help with Alan Branch. Ravens are probably going to address OL, either Staley, Grubbs, or maybe Ryan Kalil. Patriots are going to go with Paul Poz, IMO. Chargers will probably get a reciever like Meachem. So, I am predicting something like Olsen, Jarrett, Houston and Staley/Grubbs being around at 31. DeMarcus Tyler is not worth that 31 pick, maybe 37, but defenitanly not worth 31 (very overrated, IMO). Wow... this is really getting interesting for the Bears.
-
This was a very smart move by the Jags. Both of their targets at 17, probably Nelson and Quinn, will still be there at 21. I think they might go Nelson, as safety is a huge need for them right now.
-
Well, VY is the coverboy for madden this year... would be a wise decision
-
Is that your heart or brain talking?
-
That was drama created by the media... do you think all the Drama around Rex made JA and Lovie not like him anymore and want to upgrade?
-
That shouldn't scare you at all. Marc Colombu had injury concern coming out. Completely different if you ask me. Also, Columbo had a very good season last year and got a nice contract this offseason. The Bears cut him too soon.
-
Carolina is who I think will. In fact, I am willing to bet on it. With the extra picks they recieved in the trade down, they could get a good safety in either the 2nd or 3rd and another second day. THis is a prety good safety class.
-
Like I have said like 20 times... The Chiefs are very high on Brodie Croyle who they just drafted last year as their QB of the future.
-
wow... I don't understand that by Denver. I would be willing to bet Moss would be there at 31, and even if he isn't this draft is stacked with DE's. Should have been Nelson there.
