  1. No, I think this means that Mike Brown will move to FS and Arch will start at SS. And that Manning will be moved to corner, which means that only one of Vasher/Tillman will be returning. And that Hester will move to the offensive side of the ball. Tyrone Carter is to be the backup FS for Brown, IMO.
  2. I like Scott and all, but Adams fits this offense a lot more. He is smaller, but he is quick, plays the run good, and can penetrate. But Ian was our top run stuffer. I wonder what the goalline situation will look like with both Ian and Boone gone...
  3. I'd pass on Dominak, but I wouldnt mind brining in Carr to compete at QB
  4. thats basically all speculation.
  5. Idonije is signed long term. He was signed to a pretty good sized contract last offseason, as the Bills were trying to sign him away from us.
  6. I'd rather keep D. Manning at FS. He has a good skill set for the position, and I think he can become a better safety then CB. Also, having AA and Brown both starting would be bad, IMO. Mike Brown doesn't have the same speed he had a couple years ago, and wouldn't be as effective at FS at this point in his career, IMO. My plan would to have it like a rotation. I would have it where on likely passing downs D. Manning and Brown would be back at safeties, and on likely running downs/goal line, I'd have AA and Brown as the safeties. Also, you could have it like a rotation, like Lovie does with the DT's. This way all 3 safeties will be kept fresh, and less chance of an injury, IMO. Also, AA could contribute on special teams and take Todd Johnsons spot. Yeah, I caught that also. A bit strange if you ask me. Like I have stated in my previous post, I'd rather keep Manning as a safety. I wouldn't mind him as the dime back or something like that. But I think his upside is at FS. Also, I haven't seen anything on Devin Hester being officially moved to the offense until your post. I guess he could become a good trick play weapon, and a revieving option.
  7. It should be a perfect fit. This is the same D where he had so much success back when he was with Rams with Lovie as his DC.
  8. I think Benson will do fine as a blocker. And we always have AP, and he is an excellent blocker and at reading blitzes.
  9. He has two years left worth about 4 million. That does hurt the cap, and he shouldn't be making the money he is making being injured for the majority of 3 seasons now.
  10. unless if he re-works his contract... he gone! sadly, however.
  11. I have actually read that Mike Brown might not be ready by opening day, and I, sadly, wouldn't be surprised to see him cut if the Bears can't restructure his contract.
  12. oh no! What shall we ever do!!!???
  13. Bears | Team looking to re-sign I. Scott Mon, 19 Mar 2007 19:51:06 -0700 John Mullin, of the Chicago Tribune, reports the Chicago Bears have quietly expressed interest in re-signing free-agent DT Ian Scott, according to sources. ------------------------------------- Bears | Archuleta a trade possibility Mon, 19 Mar 2007 16:43:02 -0700 Adam Schefter, of NFL Network, reports the Chicago Bears will target Washington Redskins S Adam Archuleta in a trade. ___________________________________________________________________ Now, Ian Scott would be neccisary to resign with DT being a big concern at this point, and I am not surprised that Bears are trying to resign him. Lovie has always seemed to like him, and he does play hard, and I recall earlier the Scott said he liked Chicago. (Props to DrunkBomber for first finding this out) Now, I wouldn't mind Archuleta, but that would depend on what we would have to offer, and what type of roll the Bears think he would play. Also, if we did aquire him, I would hope it would include a restructure of his ridiculous contract that the Redskins signed him to. I would only plan on using him as a special teamer/back up and ermergency plan for Mike Brown. Adam Archuletta is not the same player he used to be before all the injuries, but I think he can still be decent in the cover 2. I would only give up a 4th rounder, at tops, for him. Probably not even, since it is evident that the Skins want to trade him. Plus, getting Archuletta would eliminate S as a draft need for this year, at least. One guy that I am still waiting on to being signed is Ruben Brown. I really hope JA and Lovie are planning on bringing him back.
  14. well, it would likely only be as a backup saftey/special teamer and ermergency plan for Mike Brown. He does not have the speed for FS. If it is anything more then a 4th rounder for him, we got screwed.
  15. Extend Harris, by far. This D needs him, and aside from Urlacher, Harris is the best defensive player on this team.
  16. W/ Dusty D being drafted last year, I think the Bears might just stick with a DT through free agency. I personally am a big fan of Dvoracek, but he is still practically a rookie. My guess would either be that Ian Scott will be returning or possibly Anthony Adams. I don't think bringing in another unexperienced guy would help much.
  17. w/ good behavior he could be out within 60-70 days, which isn't to bad. Like someone else said, hopefully he comes out of this with a new look on the world, and hopefully decides to change his old ways. Plus, he will probably get into pretty good shape, because if I was in prison I would lift a ton, and you only get three meals a day and those meals aren't that great. But I don't know how the food will be in the minimum security prison, since that is where he is most likely headed. I am also suspecting a 4 game suspension out of this. And I don't care what anyone says, DT is a definate first day need.
  18. It would be idiotic to spend that much money into the LB corps... and WILL in the cover 2 is one of the easier spots to find someone who could produce.
  19. I'm not the only one... many scouts think so also: http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...joshgattis.html http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/rankings/overunder.html http://www.footballsfuture.com/2007/prospe...osh_gattis.html I should have been more clear... he is horribly overrated by you. And just because a college player has 10 interception in the past two seasons isn't that big of a feet... lots of former college players have achieved that and have never achieved anything in the NFL. Like I said, good project player in the 3rd-4th round, horrible choice for practically a first round pick.
  20. Neither Gattis or Harris are worth that high of picks. I like Harris, but he is not first round talent. He is more like late 2nd/early 3rd. If we go w/ linebacker in the 1st, Jon Beason, Paul Poz, or Lawerence Timmons will likely be there at 31 and they would be much better picks. And Gattis... he isn't even worth a first day pick. He is horribly overrated. He has horrible instincts and probably at best will be a special teamer and backup. Taking him at 37 over some players like Meriweather (even though I would not want that thug on this team), Weddle, Wendling, Piiscitelli, and Johnson would be stupid. If the Bears want to get him in the 3rd or 4th, fine by me, as long as they don't horribly reach on him and pick him over some much better talent. But Harris and Gattis back-to-back at 31 and 37 would be horrible reaches... Not even Manning and Hester were that big of reaches
  21. I guarantee all of you that Briggs doesn't get moved for anything less then a 1st round pick...
  22. I would kill myself if that actually happened on draft day, as would thousands of Bear fans around the world... Sears is a bad pick also because he projects more to guard and the only reason why he is getting 1st round consideration is because of the horribly week T draft. Sears doesn't fit, as it would be best to get a future LT and move Tait back to RT. ANd next year is the year to get that future LT... this draft sucks at tackle.
  23. And the crowd goes "boo" as they wanted the physical freak from Georgia Tech
